Im 43, lived in Ontario Canada all my life. Brother was born in Gretzky town Brantford the same year. We ate breathed hockey. I remember when Hockey Night in Canada was a total family event. Looking forward to that Leafs game via tv guide listing. Bob Coles patented voice from Maple Leaf Gardens. We never had a chance to be on the ice due to affordability at the prime age of 8. When I see videos like this I salute the parents that struggle hard to take kids to their practices and most of all pay for the game fees etc. So although I am now a grown man past my prime I live my imagination of being that strong ice hockey player through these videos. Good work parents !!!
+Sss Thanks SSS!! This was shot when my son was 7. He's 13 now and plays on a AAA travel team. Lots of dedication from the entire family to make it work. But wouldn't have it any other way. :)
I see so many parents just trying to get their kids a ride to the NHL. But this kid for 7 yrs old is amazing, ik i couldnt do half of that at his age. He plays way ahead of his age and i can tell hes actually got some potential
As i live in frisco and am going to a boarding school for hockey next year i am glad to see a kid growing up loving the sport. Never give up your dream
Really guys? Dissing a 7 year old and saying your better then him and your 12 like really. Stop telling him he can't make a AAA team. He is so young and has a lot to learn so stop bragging about yourselves.
awesome! My boy is 5 and been playing for a year. It's crazy how fast they progress. I just uploaded a couple of videos from his training session tonight.
very impressive, some of his goals look like Ovie when he's falling down scoring - NICE - keep up the good work - and the stick handling, wonderful!!!!!!!
whats impressive is that his moves arent rehearsed, he actually makes the opposition move and then reacts. at such a young age that hockey sense is rare
now that kid is gonna be one hell of a player when he gets older not too fancy he's just stickhandling to find his way through guys and he's stickhandling the RIGHT way and i really like the way he finds his way through defenders he could try skating a little harder though and his shot is good but with just a little more work he could a childhood superstar
very impressive, some of his goals look like Ovie when he's falling down scoring - NICE - keep up the good work - and the stick handling, wonderful!!!!!!! - and I just saw the 30 dislikes - SHAME ON YOU!
Edgars Bibergers he is fucking 7 and you're already talking about his future as a hockey player. You can't say that can 7 year old become a pro or not. But other than that he has some talent.
I play Bantam in the same DSYHL that this kid plays in and I got to say he has some really impressive skills for his age group and from this video I can tell he has some real talent and if he keeps practicing and continues to play he could be very good and I give the kid props for what he's able to do definitely one of the more dominating players of his age group i have seen
I played with him when he was that age, and I have seen him get so much better. I was good for his age but there probably are kids that have been better.
Don't you love these cocky 11 year olds in the comment section, who think they're the shit because they play AA or AAA? Stop chirping the kid, he's phenomenal for his age.
That kid god mad skills. My lil' bro played just like that kid when he was that kid's age. The only difference was he passed the puck a lil' more. That kid's good though, he'll get far.
Jumbotron style scoreboards, spotlights after goals for 7 year olds!? Man, that is an awesome league! Our rink wont even turn the heating pipes on over the metal bleachers where parents watch the kids because its just reserved for the Jr. A team team fans. My son is only 5 but cant see that changing in 2 years. Anyway, parents gotta be proud of that kid. Whata standout. He must really love playing hockey.
hes gonna be a good player... just show him its the pleasure for the sport really important.. and continue love him !!! Hes going to be a good player, believe me.... not making fun of you
Something that helps me is to tape around my ankles when my skates are on it makes the skates from moving around when they are on your feet and adds a little more stability to your feet so you can skate a little more faster it helps me
after rewatching the video, i would also tuck the tongue from his skates under the kneepads, and sock tape around the bottom knee pad/ankle, will give him much more support and in the end make him much sturdier on his skates. You will never lose a stride or fall from his ankle giving out. Which i see happens
yes i tuck my skates, doesnt hurt one bit, its not tucked in my foot lol. Tucks under my knee pads so really no difference in feeling with my foot. But hella lot sturdier
that doesnt build any strength with tongues out, support builds strength silly lol. All you going to do is break an angle, not called ankle benders for nothing. Kids should always wear high top runners too. My dad was super ahtletic, had 4 boys, and all of us had to wear high runners and tongues in. And we are all rock solid on our feet. How would tongues out build ankle strength? Would love to hear your logic on that one.An ankle isnt a muscle, its a tendon, you want that tendon to be strong by supporting it. You weaken the tenden by bending the wrong way with no support, now you have a weak ankle. Support it so it cant bend the wrong way! Fairly simple
How did so many people end up watching this video anyway? No one ever watched any of mine. LoL. My son will try out for Squirt travel this time next year. He will be 8 though because of a Dec birthday. They had over 100 kids try out for 45 spots this year so who knows. They get more ice time in house because the periods are longer and the teams are smaller. But it's nice to find videos of kids playing at the age he is now. He hasn't watched it yet because we rush in the morning for the bus but after hockey and soccer practice tonight we will have time.
TheKristie111 Frankly, I'm not sure. For years, it was used skates. His latest pair were new ones. We went to the hockey store, didn't look at any pricing or brands. What FIT him best were actually one of the cheapest. $150. Yea me!! :)
For everyone saying he is a puck hog, the kid is 7. Let him have his fun. Agreeably as he gets older it's a habit he must break, but as a 7 year old puck hogging isn't unusual, and it's actually allowing him to hone his skill.
He didn't have enough XP left to put into the passing skill, it was all spent in Handling, shooting, and deking! :p NHL 12 reference, sorry if you don't understand.
If he continues to get better and better and he has a shot to make it in the big leagues you're probably going to have to move to a different state or maybe in Canada so he can have a little more competition.
1st year novice. Really depends on what tier he is playing. He's pretty good. Doesn't seem like tier 1. I think he is in the wrong tier. He would develop better at a higher tier.

I just uploaded a couple of videos from his training session tonight.
this kid will be a superstar. keep playing!
very impressive, some of his goals look like Ovie when he's falling down scoring - NICE - keep up the good work - and the stick handling, wonderful!!!!!!!
The kids who make it far are the ones who try their best to get better.
whats impressive is that his moves arent rehearsed, he actually makes the opposition move and then reacts. at such a young age that hockey sense is rare
Kids VERY talented for 7 years old… his stick handling is beyond impressive for his age, future Patrick Kaine right there.
The Kid has Talent for Sure. Wish Him all the Best. Have a Wonderful Day~~~

now that kid is gonna be one hell of a player when he gets older not too fancy he's just stickhandling to find his way through guys and he's stickhandling the RIGHT way and i really like the way he finds his way through defenders he could try skating a little harder though and his shot is good but with just a little more work he could a childhood superstar
I love his work ethic!
very impressive, some of his goals look like Ovie when he's falling down scoring - NICE - keep up the good work - and the stick handling, wonderful!!!!!!! - and I just saw the 30 dislikes - SHAME ON YOU!
Kid has some quick, soft hands. Keep up the good work!
This kid has amazing talent, I think he has a big shot at OHL and even AHL hockey. Keep it dude. :)

Edgars Bibergers he is fucking 7 and you're already talking about his future as a hockey player. You can't say that can 7 year old become a pro or not. But other than that he has some talent.
dude, clam down I was saying what I think. And what is your point in swearing?
This kid got things coming
I play Bantam in the same DSYHL that this kid plays in and I got to say he has some really impressive skills for his age group and from this video I can tell he has some real talent and if he keeps practicing and continues to play he could be very good and I give the kid props for what he's able to do definitely one of the more dominating players of his age group i have seen
Hes still freaking awesome
I played with him when he was that age, and I have seen him get so much better. I was good for his age but there probably are kids that have been better.
Don't you love these cocky 11 year olds in the comment section, who think they're the shit because they play AA or AAA?
Stop chirping the kid, he's phenomenal for his age.

This Guy is sick, if i had that skill when i was seven years old!
With your next video you should make longer clips.
Good luck to him, he's doing great!
I love your moves
That kid god mad skills. My lil' bro played just like that kid when he was that kid's age. The only difference was he passed the puck a lil' more. That kid's good though, he'll get far.

Frisco is a suburb north of Dallas. It's the home ice for the Dallas Stars.
Definitely better than what I was when i was 7 :p
Jumbotron style scoreboards, spotlights after goals for 7 year olds!? Man, that is an awesome league! Bad for ankle flexibility

That league is awesome they get to play in aa center awesome

once a bender always a bender. cant change him
yes i tuck my skates, doesnt hurt one bit, its not tucked in my foot lol. Tucks under my knee pads so really no difference in feeling with my foot. But hella lot sturdier
at his age its good to build ankle strength by going tongues out
that doesnt build any strength with tongues out, support builds strength silly lol. All you going to do is break an angle, not called ankle benders for nothing. Great shot for a Seven year old
holy crap these kids are so lucky to play at the stars stadium
How did so many people end up watching this video anyway? No one ever watched any of mine. LoL. My son will try out for Squirt travel this time next year. TheKristie111 I posted this video 5 years ago, so time is a big reason for the number of views. Also, the title and key words helped quite a bit.
Pretty good. I play for the NV storm AA and all but for his age he is great.
14u?
What kind of skates was he wearing?
TheKristie111 Frankly, I'm not sure. For years, it was used skates. His latest pair were new ones. We went to the hockey store, didn't look at any pricing or brands. What FIT him best were actually one of the cheapest. $150. Yea me!! :)
holy crap my sons 10 and is the best goalie i know but he's my second best kid hockey player i know
You could actually skate into the zone backwards as long as you have full possession of the puck. This rule also apply's to the NHL.
DANG!!!! Next to 1st round draft pick for NHL
Like to see him go pro
How do you have so many moves
this kid's pretty sick
For everyone saying he is a puck hog, the kid is 7. Let him have his fun. Agreeably as he gets older it's a habit he must break, but as a 7 year old puck hogging isn't unusual, and it's actually allowing him to hone his skill.
He is 13 now
Yeah. Hone his skill. Everyone is passing to him and all he does is make shots.
Would all these 11 year olds shut the hell up and stop saying you're so much better and that you play AAA he will probably make a AAA Team eventually
Finally a voice of reason. :) This player is now 12 and plays on the top tiered AAA team in the area and is ranked nationally.
This kid should try out for major bantam
I agree
does he roll his wrists when he stickhandles? because it doesn't look like it.
The anouncer has such enthusiam at 0:07
he is a very good hockey player
whats the song i like it
the good old days before contact
Even though he is only 7, he looks good for his age.
This kid is a 1 man show
He didn't have enough XP left to put into the passing skill, it was all spent in Handling, shooting, and deking! :p
NHL 12 reference, sorry if you don't understand.
Yup, and also Frisco
I like this kid
Wait did he play in the show or something he had a Canada jersey on
He is very good :)
What boarding school are you going to?
This kid is going to the NHL
If he continues to get better and better and he has a shot to make it in the big leagues you're probably going to have to move to a different state or maybe in Canada so he can have a little more competition.
@HockeyDude1621 -
Do they really? Is there a website?

Does he actually play for Canada
IKR!!!!
his moves from 4:04 - 4:11 are f*ckin other worldly for a kid his age. unreal.
1st year novice.
Really depends on what tier he is playing.
He's pretty good.
Doesn't seem like tier 1.
I think he is in the wrong tier.
He would develop better at a higher tier.
