Cool headed, strategist, taking everyone into consideration and giving away the victory to the team. That's a Leader. That's a captain. And the results are proof... Be it IPL or International Cricket.
In 2009-2014 Dhoni was one of the best limited overs batsman in India, if not the best.
Definitely he was the most reliable batsman in Indian line up. Any collapse happens and it's Dhoni's job to rescue.

Even when the test team was inexperienced at times or when any of the teams he captained weren’t performing well, he remained calm and patient. When the team lost, he never gave excuses. Dhoni is a role model to many. It won’t feel the same when he retires(hopefully it isn’t as soon as the haters say)
