Love CDDA. I'll admit I'm not fond of the direction the main branch is going for. Wombo combo of realism weirdness and also taking away a lot of the fun stuff for realism. Anyway started watching you during XCOM, hope to see more cool stuff from you.
Great video. Love the concept and complexity of tihs game. I've seen a lot of CDDA mostly played by Vormithrax so it's nice to see some different approaches. I'd play it myself but it's surprisingly demanding on the cpu so it's too sluggish on my old rig. Guess the linux version isn't as well optimised either as the windows one. Love to watch it anyways and the randomness and RP elements make it so entertaining to watch.
did this whole scenario with a sling staff and a shit ton of pebles, was not to difficult. I made it my goal to make my grandpa into a cybernetic force of death and destruction 😝
One fun way this scenario could be played is as an archer/slinger. I mentioned at some point in the video, but I enjoy playing as an archer in early-game CDDA, and this map has a lot of open rooftops you can snipe enemies from to train marksmanship.
@@CairnEnjoyer I actually forsake archery pretty early as soon as i raid my first police station and have more 45ACP then i know with to do with togheter with a Mosberg 590 or 870 and your set for the endgame pretty fast :)
Nice video, but I feel like CDDA Bright Nights fork is a much better in terms of being a fun game than the main branch. Kevin's obsession with realism was bad enough, but now they are stripping sci-fi elements from the game and gating features behind the dev's OC Donut Steel characters
Removing a lot of the more popular features relating to sci-fi and fantasy in order to double down on the realism. Also sometimes the “realism” can be just unrealistic and stupid in recent updates.
@@CairnEnjoyer I disagree, because you can't stand in between "two rooms", add some fantasy more and it would be preferable to complete obey "realism" and go magyclism mode, but if they gonna be more like "black mesa fuckd up" style, then yes, I mean FCK those flaming eyes, its utter bullsht.
Retiring at 55? Truly a fantasy mod
in my country thats normal
idk about other but civil servant do, 55 or 60
I play fungal infection start because i love feeling the brush of death and because influenza in really bad day makes you functionally crippled now
Also you got lucky with that cleaver
They are not too hard to find in well stocked kitchens
@@CairnEnjoyeryeah youre in the retirement park it has really good rates on civilian loot
Forgot that bigger civ locations are better stocked than individual houses
12:03 zombies tend to go downstairs more than upstairs for some reason
Gravity
You dont have to butcher every zombie. Just using the smash command (default 's' i believe) you'll pulp the corpse making it so it doesnt come back
I was a bit worried about noise at first but later I stopped caring and just smashed them.

To be honest as of late I’ve played Bright Nights more so than DDA, this was my first time coming back to Dark Days in probably a few years.
What do you mean by taking away the fun stuff? I havent kept up with experiemental changelogs
One of us one of us!!! This is a fun start.

You can play BN or one of the more reduced terminal versions.
For recording this I played the more demanding tiles version but often I just play in the terminal since it runs well on any computer I’ve used
Hell Yes CDDA!
hell yeah dude
That thumbnail 😂😂
Lfg CDDA ❤

I’d agree but there are still a lot of things I like about CDDA, removing fantasy/scifi themes just turns the game into a lesser Zomboid.
I've been away from CDDA for a while since the tile troubles. How are they changing things?
