    Looking for advice before buying this. Does this function as a Two-Fer or as an Optosplit? Basically I have a ton of strips that I want to plug in and control individually. I have an 3 x 8universe mapping controllers. But they only have 2 outputs (entec Opto) each.
    What I'm wondering is: if I plug in 4 strips to this splitter, do I get individual control over all the LEDs? Or does it just duplicate those addresses across the 4 outs? I can't tell from your video because it looks like they are all running the same pattern.
    thanks in advance!

      Hi - this is not a controller, it just repeats the inputs and splits it between 4 outputs, if your looking for a controller then have a look at www.SmartShow.lighting

    Is it possible to use a motion sensor with this unit I'm working on an LED strip way system I want the LEDs to come on when I start up or down the stairs

      This is just a dumb splitter, you will have to use a controller like a Arduino to control the lights and respond to movement

    Hey THX for the video I wondering How do you know what amp Fuse size to use

    • @MikesLEDShed
      @MikesLEDShed  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The fuse is a car fuse, rated as the total amps, each LED is about 0.06a so if your running 200 LED's
      ist 200 x 0.06a = 12amps so you have to make sure your using the correct amps fuse for the number of LEDs your running

    Hello Mike, thank you for the helpful videos you’ve produced. I plan on running close to 1300 pixels and have purchased 5V 350w p/s, 9 ws2812b 30/meter, SP105, SP901 before seeing your video. With your excel page my setup will not work. Do I need to purchase a 12v p/s for the so 901/105 or will another 5v p/s (on hand) work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

      I've found the 901E works better with 12v for the controller and 5v for your LED's

    Have you tried using an ESP32 running WLED with the SP901E?
    I'm just about to start using the SP901e and creating 4x 1200 strips using one data pin on the ESP32 and 4x 1200mm strips on a second data pin on the ESP32.
    I wonder does WLED see all the LED strips on the same data pin or does WLED only see the one and the SP901e just mirrors the signal?
    I’m wanting to create 8x Quasar lights pretty much that I can control seperately by creating 8x segments if needed in WLED.

      The 901 will only mirror the signal sent in either port 1 or 2. Ive not used wled on the 901 although i have use wled a few times - im going to assume it will work but ive not tested it

    If I'm trying to distribute DMX to multiple strips the SP901E should be able to handle that, correct?

      The splitter has 2 x inputs to 4 x 2 outputs

    Hi Mike.....question. I have a sp107e...like to make a 12 Segment wall with 172Pixels on each segment/row. The sp107e has max 960 pixels so i can only set sp107e to 12segments and 80 pixels /segment. Will i somehow be able to extend the 80 pixels to 172/segment total 2064 pixels with help from the sp901e? Or is it limited from the sp107e.

      The 901 will only output the number of pixels you input, however if you use 2 or 3 outputs you can mirror the input. So you will have more pixels but each section will show the same

    (Sorry for my english) i have white cob strip led (not rgb) 24v, i can only use my controler when the power supply is Plug inside,
    If The power supply is plugged into the SP901e so I can see the controller in the application and the strip are enlightened but i can't use it (on/off, dimmer). I don't know the issue and you not recommend to use the power supply directly on the controler, maybe this kind of strip or controler are not suitable for the sp901e

      The 901e is for RGB or RGBW LED's not single colour LED strips

    What wattage fuses do you use

    • @MikesLEDShed
      @MikesLEDShed  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These are 12v car fuses 10a and 20a

      @@MikesLEDShed but we are connecting it to 5V .. i know 12V works but do we have 5V fuses too ? bcoz suppose power supply damage and cause high voltage output like 10V .. it will burn the ws2812b rt ? I am not technical tough

    • @MikesLEDShed
      @MikesLEDShed  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@parumal23 Its not the volts that will blow a fuse its the amps, so if you have 500 LED's running on 5v, and put them all on full white, the total amps will be 500x0.06=30a, if you have a 20a fuse it will blow, you can use car fuses in your power circuit on 5v. Remember to calculate your amps.
