Great video Mike. For someone like me who is new to tractor ownership, I really find these videos helpful, not only for loader specs but for watching how smooth you operate ALL your equipment I've watched you use. That's the main things I pick up on. I love the fact that I can climb on my JD1025r and accomplish in a few hours what would normally take me a week or two in the past. I helped out a neighbor the other day with a little drainage problem and saved him a lot of back breaking work and I got a lot of enjoyment out that.
I've got the same model of tractor. I had a guy tell me that "I wasn't going to clear my property with that". My wife and I sit in amazement a few months later looking at the nice area that we cleared using it. It might have took a little bit longer, but we aren't in any big hurry.
Hi Mike, I really appreciate the way you deliver information. No bias, no arrogance, and no pre-conceived opinion. Just facts. Love this channel! Peace.
And this ladies and gents is a prime example of why I love to see an Outdoors with the Morgan’s notifications on my iPad. Loved the intro music Mike. (Who could of given this a thumbs down? SMH)
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I love any tricks you can offer me.
@Ernest Kamdyn i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
And one other thing , I appreciate on your channel is...your positive nature. I've owned ford, john deere, massey ferguson, and recently bought another J.D. never had any real issues with any of these brands, however I do really like this RK 24. It looks like a little horse, really impressive.
I have a rk 24, and it is a beast. First time I ever ran it, I spread a load of 1/2 stone in 27 minutes to grade. I thought that was pretty good. I haven't had any complaints about it yet.
I have a rk-24 and I religiously move #57 limestone as well as removing a high bank of clay soil on my pond. Its easier to manage having a tiller or the backhoe hooked to the tractor but I have used it many times without a ballast and have had zero issues moving a full bucket. I have verified with a scale that I can pick up a cabinet weighing in at 1,076 pounds using the bucket and ratchet straps to lift with, and the tractor laughs at this load and asks for more. tonight I am going to attempt to move small square bales of hay which I haven't done yet but I bet that won't be a issue either. Ive had this tractor for over a year now and have put 180 hours on it and it just does what ever I want
These are very impressive tractors! I really like the RK24. If my wife didn't need a new electric wheelchair I'd seriously be looking at one. Another good video!
I just got my quote from RK. They are the most bang for your buck. It looks like I may pull the trigger on a RK24 TLB. I can get 7 attachments and a 16' equipment trailer for less than 25k. Great deal. Im not sure if they will let me operate one before I buy. Thanks for the info. Great video.
Wow Mike you have been posting consistently daily for these past couple of weeks. I have to give credit where credit is due. Great job and keep up the good videos
Nice Mike! Those forums drive me nuts too. Some tractor manufacturers seem to spend an inordinate amount of money marketing to make up for their design deficiencies, rather than make a production update. It pays to shop around and but the machine that’s right for you
Nice explanation. I had a Stoll FEL attached to a 1720 New Holland. The bucket held 1/3 of a cu yard. It would lift a heaping load of rock dust that would put it in the 1000# plus bucket weight range. I always figured 3000 pounds per yard. Close enough for me. Great job.
I have a Kubota BX25D. In fact, this is my second Kubota. I like it really well, but there are a few things on the RK I wish I had, particularly the auto-throttle. I don't know what my lift capacity is, but its certainly not near 900lbs. Maybe close to 750? I use mine 95% for mowing. Would like to see the RK with the belly mower. In fact, any chance of a future video on the Zero Turn and RK mowing? I would like to see both.
I know you had monofilament line tied to the bucket attached to your drone and Melissa was flying it to help lift all that stone. You can’t fool a fool!
Bravo! Deeds, not words my friend. Really in the market of “looking” for a mighty mule. I also love how to clearly state facts with applying validity based on past successes and failures. Kept it simple which I’m also a fan of KISS! Keep them coming and stay on task my friend!!
That's about what the Kubota BX will do if you have proper ballast....it gets way too light in the back end far sooner than you run out of lift capacity. In your case you are pretty well set having the backhoe on there its pretty heavy and shouldn't give any issues for lift capacity. The other issue is you'll run out of traction sooner than lift capacity usually as well. I was moving buckets of reject sand a while back and quickly found I needed my roto-tiller for rear ballast as the box blade wasn't enough. The BX will list quite a bit, but not if you aren't properly ballasted for the job. Reject sand is kind of like that 2A limestone....it has up to 2 inch rocks down to sand and dirt. It works great for a base because it packs really well. I bought a sub-compact tractor because I only have an acre and I'm limited in space and access...the sub-compact made a lot of sense for my needs. I could also use it as a very expensive lawnmower if I bought a mower deck LOL. Bought it mostly for loader, roto-tiller, and box blade work. So far its been getting quite the workout.
Great illustration, Mike. By the time your 2 years are up on these loaners, RK ought to give the whole lot of them to you or for sure at least one. The PR they are getting is worth a ton of money. 👍
Great video as always. One thing that I'll never understand is the "urinating contest" that some people have regarding equipment. Seriously... RK, John Deere, Mahindra, Kubota, etc. all make good equipment that only helps the owner(s) of said equipment. I happen to own a John Deere 1025R that is pretty much the same as your RK24. Both machines will do a bunch of work and make our lives easier. Who cares if your RK or my JD can lift a few more pounds? (I didn't bother to look up specs.). The thing is, they both do work that saves us manual labor. They are both (along with every other manufacturer) very good machines. I know that we all will push our machines at times to the fullest extent, but I seriously doubt that anyone is going to use their machine to the fullest capacity as far as lifting, moving, etc.,... at least not constantly. Doing so is pretty much abuse rather than operating responsibly (in my opinion). The bottom line is if the tool does the job it's a good tool. It doesn't matter what color it is or who the manufacturer is.
Ballast behind the rear axle help to reduce pressure on the front axle wich is often the weakest component. Stone like that is crazy heavy! Actually destroyed the steering on my GT loader with that kind of stone. Keep up the good work.
I wish I could get a sub compact with the lift cap of a skid loader. I need to sling around 1200 lbs of engine in the shop and the easiest way is a skid steer with forks and a hook at the end of a fork. I would totally get an RK if a local place sold them. Seen the implements at Benton il RK 2 weeks ago
As for me it doesn't matter ,my Massey gc1720 lifts what it lifts and one things for sure it lifts way more than you or i could and my tractor as well as any of yours sure beats a shovel and a wheel barrow .But thanks for sharing and from what i've seen most tractors will pick up more than the specs say but the farther that that you are out from the pins the less that you can pick up for instance if you put on some bolt on forks on the bucket like i plan too then you really cut down on your lift cap. Thanks for sharing and for making your videos as i do learn alot from watching them.
That`s pretty impressive for a 24 hp tractor with 50" bucket. Thanks. Something confusing to me is how similar sized engines (c.i.) can be rated at different hp. Newer engines must be rated different?
i'm looking at the Rk 24 and the mahindra max 26XL right now. what do you like best about your mahindra? i have a personal hang-up about buying a piece of equipment made in India. i know they are "assembled" in the U.S. - but all the parts come from India. i'm not a big fan of ANYTHING made in India. i trust the Japanese much more than the Indians for equipment design.
You had me with the great music! Ok, I see this RK24 can lift and it doesn't even make the motor work. Seems to me it is a tough little tractor with lots of grit! I like it. Can't wait to see more!
A think a lot of people have no idea what a beast the sub-compact line of tractors is. Like you say, no matter the brand, sub-compacts are great value for your money.
I know my RK55 will lift a LOT more than it should be able to. Even with a cab, rimguard in both rear wheels, and a rear ballast box (1200lbs) it can lift the rear end if overloaded. Plenty of lift capacity for anyone's needs in the 50-60hp range. Great tractor.
You are right, it doesnt matter how much weight you had. All it matters is that you couldn't fit anymore rock in that bucket...so why would you need it to lift more than that anyway?? because you couldnt have filled it with more weight anyways due to capacity.
Hi. Like your channel a lot. I'm a 1025r owner and I watch your small tractor videos for comparison purposes. One thing I really like about you is the background music you play, and I would really like to know the artists and the titles. Soooo, my suggestion (request) is for you to list on music credits on screen as they play. Hope you can do this. Thanks.
I’m trying to decide on what to buy right now. I’ve been looking at John Deere and Kubota, they are more expensive but both have 0% interest right now for 60mo. I found this video and If RK had 0% instead of the 6.45% it would be a no brainer, I would go get it. So now I’m leaning towards JD now.
This is great! I am thinking of buying a sub-compact to help gather firewood and work on our 1/2 mile gravel road and driveway. We have struggled to get this road in good condition. Is this good stone for a gravel road? Thank you.
Whether at the pivot pin or 24" in front of the pivot pin, Kubota is generally rated with the lowest lifting capacities for each frame size or HP compared to other brands. I've heard it's not so much a hydraulic/loader issue, but rather because Kubota has lighter/weaker front axles on their compact tractors compared to similar size tractors from other brands.
Good information, Mike. I was always amazed at what my little tractor could do when i worked for county parks. It was an older Kubota 7610, 24 hp, like you RK 24. It was like a little monster. Worth their weight in gold. Thanks, Mike.
Good video Mike !!! I really like watching your videos, you do a good job. Where do you live? I live in a little town called Venus, Pa, just fifteen miles NE of Clarion and I 80. Thanks for your videos. I am in the process of buying an RK 24 just like that with a 60" mower and a 48" brush hog. Take care. Jerry Obenrader
Ok Mike... you've opened Pandora's box...! Man loader capacity is a huge topic. You're demo was great but one problem... that RK24 looked like it wasn't even sweating to lift that rock to max height! Very impressive! I would recommend you use your pallet forks and add known weight until the loader hydraulics actually relief out at or near max height. Then show us that with each RK tractor. I know that may be putsy but man I'm telling you that video would get a crazy # of views! Just an idea and thanks for your great content!!
Hello Mr Morgan! If you would like to see how much the rk24 will actually lift, then check out this video of Messicks Kubota...he buried a car tire 8ft deep and tied a chain to it and the opposite end hooks to the tractor bucket. There's a small digital guage, that registers the lift capacity, that's connected between the bucket and the chain. Its actually a very neat idea to measure lift capacity in real time numbers...and very simple to put together. I wish all tractor dealers would set up something like this at their sales lot...it would certainly make the decision to buy a tractor a whole lot easier. I love tractors period..all the different brands, but I'm debating on a Mahindra 1626 or RK tractor (if they make a 30hp unit)...just haven't decided on which one yet. Check out this video clip and let me know if you decide to do something like that...I'm very interested in lift numbers on your rk24 and the next size up one you have. Here's the video link.... th-cam.com/video/RZrBFL8GaWs/w-d-xo.html Thank you and God bless you and yours! Don Miller
$17,797....with the loader and backhoe. I’d think you would be hard pressed to find anything cheaper. Also...the new models have a thumb on the backhoe and the loader bucket is quick disconnect.
Thanks for the quick response. I would order one for sure, but unfortunately, there are no dealers by me. That's a heck of a good price, especially for the standard features. Wish there was a dealer closer to me. I live in Northern Michigan. Few hundred miles away. Bummer.
@@brianm3963 Again, I thank you. I'll contact the company. See where they have dealers planned. I would still consider purchasing, I do all my own maintenance. But if I ever needed warranty work... You just never know. Never had any issues with my Kubota. Not familiar with these tractors though. I know TYM has been around a while. Just don't know of anyone with personal experience. Thanks again.
I just crossed the 50 hour mark in my RK24 and something is wrong with the engine. Even at full throttle it won't get to the PTO mark on the tach. Not it sounds like a broken piston rod. I took it back to the dealer and they had to ship it off somewhere else. That was like 2 weeks ago. Now I'm missing jobs. I'm not sure what is wrong with my tractor but I sure wish I had it back. Also after getting the third function installed it seems only one piston on my loader works.
I’m a Harry homeowner , I don’t farm , no cows, chickens or goats . I’m looking for a tractor to do my two acres of yard work , I like flower beds and gravel driveways . This video is perfect for me , most people that talk about capacity of a bucket , who cares , so it holds 10 lbs , other tractors that size holds 12 lbs . Yu do a little more time , for the price , I’m in . But heck I could buy a front end loader to pick up the whole pile , point is , will it lift high enough for a dump trailer ?
To me whatever tractor you buy it’s going to lift whatever you can load into the bucket( dirt, rock). Now I know if you have a grapple on it yes you can over load it by trying to lift logs bigger than you know you should
Another good video Mike, one question I wanted to ask on another topic is when you are back blading do you put it in the float position? or some downward pressure?
Mike how would the land plane work on the RK24. I see you videos using the larger ones but not the small one. I just wonder if it would work or not. Thanks for your videos.
GREAT video.... I think this would be a great little machine for small landscaping for retaining walls and use for doing french drains /yard work.... I am really thinking about getting one.. Any input would be appreciated.
I'm really interested in the RK 24. My nearest RK is 55 miles away. They are always sold out of the 19 &24 so I've never got to see one in person. Your videos are extremely helpful. I do have one question. Is the back hoe on a full subframe, or is it a 3 point mount? Would love to see removal of the fel and back hoe and a video of the belly mower. Ik, I don't ask for much lol. Thanks again for the great, and honest, videos.
Hey mike how does the backhoe run on the rk 24 is it a self contained and runs off the pto or dose it hook to the hydraulics on the tractor and is it 3 point or sub frame
My eyeball guess is that you had between a third and half of the bucket stacked above level. That would be from 7 to 8 cubic feet total volume. At your 1.67 T/cubic yard number, that upper one is 983 lbs of rock, not including the 150-ish for your bucket. And I don’t think you reached your limit. My FEL on my old Ford 3000 is rated about the same, but I have learned that I can lift my rear wheels off the ground if a fence post doesn’t want to come out. That’s with me in the seat and a 5’ bush hog on the back. I bet the hydraulics are strong enough to bend some metal if the back end is heavy enough. BTW, the rock was probably 15-25% water. Was your 1.67 number for dry or some wetness? 7.5 cuft of water is over 400 lbs, so 20% of that is over 80 more pounds.
Couple things on lifting heavy loads. First you need ballast, and when lifting, Dont get off, your 200 lbs or a tad more is actually ballast as well. and dont have your wheels turned with a load in the air, If the machine tips forward with tires straight, it will just pivot till the bucket touches the ground. it they are turned and its too much load, the machine can flip,, was about 90% on the way to doing just that, but dropped the loader real fast...
Seriously dude, there's nothing more satisfying than watching someone who knows how to run their machine. Nice job : )

That slide guitar in the opening is the best soundtrack yet Mike
Very good. And thanks for mentioning at the pivot pin. Most dealerships' don't bother to point that out.

People with nothing to do love to argue about things they know nothing about! Good job.
I agree with you Mike , you just trying to help people with a little info .keep up videos and I'll keep watching. Have a great day
I just got my quote from RK.
Going back watching some old video s !!! Still a great video !!! Still very impressed with these tractors !!! Thanks please keep it up !!!!
Nice Mike! Those forums drive me nuts too. Some tractor manufacturers seem to spend an inordinate amount of money marketing to make up for their design deficiencies, rather than make a production update. It pays to shop around and but the machine that’s right for you
Mike your Math is bang on. On the scale it will hold just shy of 1100 lbs.
another excellent well informed video. Enjoy every single one.

Great video of hands on work. The tractor filled the bucket easy too.
Thanks for your honesty. I can always count on you for the truth.
It doesn't matter what the paper said, its what the machine can and will actually lift. Ron

Thanks for the video Mike. This one and many of the others are showing me the type of tractor I am going to need for my property in upstate NY.
your right it looks like a tank. thanks for the demo

like a boat and boat motor the boat manufacturer always underrates the motor size for safety and no chance of failure
Thanks for doing the math!! I can do history but numbers are tough.
Always enjoy the information and examples.
Great Explanation!!👍👊
LOL @ "helium balloon", Mike -- best laugh I've had all day!

I recently bought twenty acres and been looking for a tractor. You sir are a stand up guy
try a holland ,i have 35,and it works fine for me,and it is easy to get in tight spots
That Rk 24 almost looks like my mahindra max 26 xl. I’m impressed with my tractor. It has never let me down
i'm looking at the Rk 24 and the mahindra max 26XL right now. what do you like best about your mahindra? i have a personal hang-up about buying a piece of equipment made in India. i know they are "assembled" in the U.S. - but all the parts come from India. i'm not a big fan of ANYTHING made in India. i trust the Japanese much more than the Indians for equipment design.
that is most likly the same tractor as TYM makes some of Mahindra's tractors, as well as Branson
Good demonstration. There is not much more you can ask of it than to lift a heaping bucket of crusher run.
You had me with the great music! Ok, I see this RK24 can lift and it doesn't even make the motor work. Seems to me it is a tough little tractor with lots of grit! I like it. Can't wait to see more!

That RK is a tried and proved TANK!
Mike is it possible to post a mowing video with one of the RKs and it’s mid mounted mower before the summer is over?
That auto throttle seems to work really well!

Thanks for your videos. I am in the process of buying an RK 24 just like that with a 60" mower and a 48" brush hog. Take care. Jerry Obenrader
Hi is this same frame as the tym 224? Im trying to get a tym or rk...pls help
Kool stuff, I need 10 trailer loads at my place.
Same here but 2a limestone is a little over 500 a triaxle load now! I remember for years it was around 220 a load, those days are over
Ok Mike... you've opened Pandora's box...!
Now that would be really accurate.

Thank you and God bless you and yours!

Hi mike,
Have you ran a Bush hog on it yet?
Is there a separate PTO speed control ...or will it vary speed as you push down on the pedal?
I'm convinced, buying one tomorrow! Love your videos.
Definitely not scientific but the point is it will do more than is required of such a small tractor, job well done Mike!
Great demo and info! Just ordered a RK24 with loader and backhoe today.
Can I ask how much you paid. I’m considering the same tractor. Just starting to compare models. Thanks.
Bummer.
Definitely! New RK just opened 3miles down the road from me! Couldn’t get any better. Sales manager said they are planning to open 22more next year!

Again, I thank you.
Also after getting the third function installed it seems only one piston on my loader works.
so today you really did just play in the dirt
I’m a Harry homeowner , I don’t farm , no cows, chickens or goats . I’m looking for a tractor to do my two acres of yard work , I like flower beds and gravel driveways . This video is perfect for me , most people that talk about capacity of a bucket , who cares , so it holds 10 lbs , other tractors that size holds 12 lbs . Yu do a little more time , for the price , I’m in . But heck I could buy a front end loader to pick up the whole pile , point is , will it lift high enough for a dump trailer ?
ma lift height on mine is about 70 inches
Sweet .
To me whatever tractor you buy it’s going to lift whatever you can load into the bucket( dirt, rock). Now I know if you have a grapple on it yes you can over load it by trying to lift logs bigger than you know you should
That thing can lift alot more than my 1987 30hp ford
Everyone is a expert on you tube, but no one post their own videos
No offense but, you can be an expert at something and not post videos.
Larry Kluck , I’m not no expert but I am dang sure having fun learning🤣🤣🤣. We have a small farm strictly for self sustainment
How's this 24 holding up now?
Another good video Mike, one question I wanted to ask on another topic is when you are back blading do you put it in the float position? or some downward pressure?
Mike how would the land plane work on the RK24. I see you videos using the larger ones but not the small one. I just wonder if it would work or not. Thanks for your videos.
Thanks for the video. Great info.
I think the RK 24 sounds good
Thanks for sharing. Good way to do business.
Thanks .......Good info video. loved it
Great music!
You don't get that stone from the Synder's?
Hey mike how does the backhoe run on the rk 24 is it a self contained and runs off the pto or dose it hook to the hydraulics on the tractor and is it 3 point or sub frame
Tractor Hydraulics, not PTO
How much does the RK 24 in this video weigh? Thank you
Megatron says your math is WAY OFF!!! LOL
Kapper Outdoors, lol
I’m looking at buying a small tractor soon. Do you think it would dig up a gravel road?
Put a box blade with rippers on it and yes
Tiny Tank 24 👍
You had over 1200lbs in that heaping bucket, that thing has some nuts !!! Great video !!!
My favorite shirt!
Mine too!
I imagine your wife telling you to change it before you record
Impressive for a tractor that size
I used a little Kubota once, it was a slug compared to my RK.
This was an nice video
How much does the tractor weigh and how much can it lift with the for lift attachment?
