You can see that Benny did care for Beth’s well being but Benny pushing her away at the end. It was rash and clearly a harsh thing to do so. Except they do complete each other and pushes the best of them out. I’ve said this before- and I’ll say it again. Benny and Beth needed more than one episode together 🤧
I like the fact that benny taught her to play without pills, with a clear mind. he taught her to win fairly. and yes, we need more of this pair

Well, technically she is American (she was born there) (at least, that is what I think being American entails (also living there i know)) but she moved to Argentina when she was really young and learned to speak English in Britain when they moved there. Then she moved to New York so yeah, you could say she is British. (I’m tal King about Anya of course)

Sad there won't be a second season. Beth's story is one of the greatest, but they should make a second season about Benny's life. We barely know nothing about him! Like I'm pretty sure there's a story explaining why he always carries a knife or why this hat or this coat. Why does he live in a basement like poor guy when he was US champion of chess and earn a lof of money? Why doesn't he don't like when people drink alcohol? What happens with Cleo, why didn't they together?

The series is based off of a book, so u can read that, idk of it talks about Benny (I am still reading it) but I am pretty sure it does, it continues the story of Beth and what happens after. Also, I think (not 100% sure) Cleo was added in the series so she is not in the book.

I dont care about the book, in my head they end up together, because he's the only one who really understands and challenged her, the other guy was just cute but didn't meet her intelligence, he was able to get her to stop drinking and doing drugs without saying a single thing telling her not to. The only time he asked was "Do you always drink this much." and other than that he didn't say anything else (that I remember, i could be wrong). Until she lost her match and went home did he bring it up again showing that he clearly cared and knew she would do something she would regret and didn't want her to be alone.
