Gavin and Lola's chemistry is blatantly, obviously, the best on the show. On top of that, I actually do feel like their chemistry feels super real- some of the best I've seen from a Teen show, seriously!
yes, I thought the same thing. I have been Team Bonrad since the start especially after reading the books, but now I can see how Jere changes Belly in such a good way. Belly was always the first to help Conrad and mostly sacrified everything even after he hurt her, but it was never the other way around. Jere was the only one that cared for her future and motivated her to attend volleyball camp. With Jere, Belly sees the light at the end of the tunnel again. No matter how hurt Jere was, he still cared. While Conrad cared for the little things, Jere cared for the big ones. It's like if Belly would have stayed with Conrad, she would have always had to sacrifice herself for him, but not with Jere. Belly has a future because of him. Because of Jere she has a passion on her own that she can still persue.

This is my turning point. I became a die-hard Jeremiah girlie after this episode. I love seeing Jeremiah being vulnerable and I understand how hard it is for him to deal with everything alone. I will never leave Jeremiah and I will defend him with all my heart. Gavin really did a good job of giving justice to Jeremiah's character. He really made me love Jeremiah! Thanks, Gavin!
I’m fully Team Jellyfish! The way Jeremiah is more vulnerable and honest with his feelings makes him the obvious choice! I feel for Conrad but he has some emotional growth to do.
He is a lying, scheming, manipulative, piece of work. He is the main reason Belly & Conrad are in this awful place. Now, that he has Belly exactly where he wants her (i.e., with him)… now, he is trying to look like the good guy. Jeremiah didn’t even wait for one of them to leave the motel room… to be sure they finished talking… before he barged into the room… he is still so worried they will get back together… he is sooooo insecure.

That’s one of my main arguments when people say Bonrad is better, belly and Conrad don’t communicate their emotions which led to a lot of anger and arguments in their relationship, but Jeremiah and belly aren’t afraid to communicate their emotions which leads to an overall healthier relationship

Yes, in the last episode of season 1 after kissing Conrad she brings up Jeremiah pretty soon and says that they kissed and she doesn't want to hurt Jere. She actually then even suggests to hit pause with conrad bc of Jeremiahs feelings... 😢

Came in knowing which couple was endgame in the books but Jelly just captured my heart so badly! They know what the other one is thinking without having to say it but still make so much effort in communicating their feelings to one another and that's what a healthy partnership and true love pairing is all about. Their growth together is so so beautiful and the build-up of their relationship deserves to lead to an endgame

Nobody can change my mind, I tried to root for Conrad but i guess I just don't see what other people see! Conrad isn't a bad boy! he's a teenage boy who's depressed. If you ever read the books you would know by the 3rd book he has really worked on himself and becomes the best choice for her. I re-read them those past few weeks and seriously, yall Conrad's stans need to stop because Jenny literally needed to change Conrad's personality and gave him panic attacks to justify the way he's so angry and mean even before the death of Susannah. In book 3 Jenny decided which One of the ship She wanted to be endgame so She destroyed Jeremiah and made Conrad all of the sudden this Angel. And that is the strange part, that It happened suddenly. Left us bawling thru multiple scenes...the reflection scene with his mom consoling him about Belly, the scene with Conrad at the motel when he was asked him to tell Belly how he feels for the sake of her happiness was beyond selfless and that kiss when she picked him but thought she was about to reject him. As a mother of an 11-yr old boy, I feel that Jeremiah sets a better example for my son by showing emotional growth and maturity. He chose not to let his anger and hurt rule his actions and gave Belly the full freedom to choose what she thinks is best for herself while remaining the steadfast best friend that he was in the beginning. Therefore, it was only right that he got his happiness and reward when Belly chose him to have a relationship with. We need more examples like him in movies nowadays so our little boys will know how to grow up to become emotionally mature young men who are emotionally fit and ready to enter a committed relationship. I hope Season 3 will not ruin this very promising story arc for Jeremiah.

The scene with Conrad outside their motel room in Episode 8 shows his maturity and willingness to sacrifice his own happiness for the sake of his brother and Belly's own happiness. This is a very admirable trait. Not many parents teach this to our children nowadays.

In the books I was always team Jelly, except for what Jer did in the third book, which I hope does not play out in the third season. Conrad always read toxic to me and I just never vibed. Now even more see him in the show. Gavin and Lola’s chemistry makes it hard to route for what we know is coming with him. Really hope they rewrite the ending for season three away from the books.

Jeremiah is the better person and choice. He actually deserves better than both Belly and Conrad. I haven’t read the book series and from comments made here and other places, I probably won’t. Season 2 ended perfectly and I’ve no desire to see that lovely ending ruined.
Jeremiah is the best honestly he goes out of his way to be good for everyone and rarely gets the same level dedication given back to him. He's a better brother to Conrad than Conrad ever was to him as he always dismisses Jeremiah's feelings and considers them unimportant. His father clearly favors Conrad while Jeremiah always tries to give him the benefit of the doubt all while he's Dad places Conrad on a pedestal and ignores him. Steven he's so Called "Friend" Worshipes Conrad thinking Jeremiah is "easy" and not good enough for Belly despite all the emotional support and understanding he gives her. Ignoring that's its Jeremiah who pushes Belly to go after he dreams while with Conrad Belly spends all her time focused on him she neglects her needs. Lastly Belly poor Jeremiah feels that she and his mother Susannah are the only people who see him. He goes out of his way to be there for her while she says she's giving herself a real chance with Jeremiah all the while she hopelessly pines for Conrad it's just not fair honestly. Jeremiah isn't entitled to Belly's love and affections but he's entitled to have someone as hopelessly devoted to and committed to him as he is to them.
I do believe they will end up together like look how they love each other come on Jenny Han give the fans what they needed to watch. This is cinema, Lola and Gavin had the best chemistry. Please do not disappoint the fans. Even some celebrities are rooting for them.

So I know that a lot of team Conrad people like to talk about how the light was on Conrad and not Jeremiah in the motel room scene because Conrad is the light to Belly and I saw that and totally understand it. Now hear me out when Belly goes looking for Jeremiah the sun wasn't fully out until Belly in her own way tells Jeremiah she chose him this time and then the sun came out and stayed on them for the rest of that scene. So maybe it's symbolic of Belly's feelings officially changing that at first Conrad was the sun but now Jeremiah is the sun for her.

Honestly, I had to give the series a second try. When I started the series about a year ago, I gave up on it after the first episode because I could see where it was going. A "love" story with misunderstandings, a long back and forth, an "I want you", an "I don't want you" and so on - A "love" story that is supposed to show that a toxic relationship is romantic, worth striving for and destined for eternity - No thanks! By chance I came across the scene between Jeremiah,Belly and the flat tire (where Season 1 was more or less summarized), and something between the two of them grabbed me, like a potential Endgame? And so I gave the show a 2nd chance and fell in love with Jelly (the two of them have such great chemistry) and in the end I was also proud that Belly broke away from Conrad to find her happiness with Jeremiah who is good for her, who gives her security and something real, who she could and would love in the future - that's a love story I wanted to see told. Well then I learned that the series is based on a book series and let myself be spoiled - and yes why am I not surprised that of course the "true" first love wins in the end. And why am I not surprised that characters are bent for this to make Bonrad right. And to be clear this is not meant to be Conrad bashing, it takes two to make a relationship work and Conrad was not good for Belly, just as Belly was not good for Conrad. This is simply about the Bonrad concept. And while I'm at it - what the hell is going on with some Bonrad shippers anyway? I don't want to attack anyone personally, but what I'm hearing and reading is beyond shipping. There is a lot of hating on Jeremiah's character and most of the Jelly scenes are overheard and overlooked at because people can't accept that Belly is trying to move on from a failed relationship.
OMG YES. This is exactly how i think and YES that scene of them with the flat tire that they argue is amazing, I tried to ship Conrad and Belly but im just not having their story, its just so empty, so full of nothing. Then there is Belly and Jeremiah and i don’t know what it is about them together, feels so genuine, their chemistry is very strong, very natural. Everything with Belly and Conrad feels forced to me. I like Jelly way better. But sadly, i don’t think Jenny is going to change this ending wich is very frustrating because their story is way cooler than a “meant to be” nonsense.

Has anyone else noticed that throughout this season whenever Belly was at her lowest point she went looking for Jeremiah or when Jeremiah knew Belly needed someone he was there for her. Episode 1 Belly fights with Steven and her mom she calls Jeremiah even though they haven't talked in a year. Episode 3 Belly's upset about Susannah and losing volleyball she talks to Jeremiah who instantly cheers her up. Episode 4 she's scared to go on the ride and Jeremiah is there for her, Plus a instinctively grab for each other's hands. Episode 5 Belly gets bad news from her volleyball coach and she goes to Jeremiah. Episode 6 she fights with Conrad and the house is getting torn up. She is crying, drunk and she sees Jeremiah and tried to get to him. Episode 7 she fights with her mom, Jeremiah knows shes upset and needs to talk to someone so he finds her on the beach. But you know they don't have any kind of connection
I know she always Turns to him at her lowest points and he's there for her consistently but Somehow according to the Bonrad fans. Having a real relationship based on honest healthy communication, emotional support and vulnerability and feeling safe and supported by that person isn't enough for a relationship apparently. No a real relationship is based on hopeless infatuation and pinning for someone who never opens up and will just eventually hurt you.

Then, anytime Belly tries to share her opinion, and Jeremiah doesn’t like it, he frowns, and Belly changes her answer, just to please him. So, no, Belly and Jeremiah do not have healthy & honest communication. Belly is walking on eggshells around Jeremiah, trying to please him, saying what he wants to hear, even if she has to lie about what she is really thinking. Also, Jeremiah is still very well aware, that Belly & Conrad still love each other…Jeremiah admits this himself, in the episode he narrates, when he states that they have this invisible force between them… which makes Jeremiah insecure & extremely jealous. But, even knowing, full well, that they still care for each other deeply, doesn’t stop him from scheming to keep them apart. He doesn’t care about how much Belly & Conrad still love each other, Jeremiah just wants to get what he wants.. and that is Belly. So, Jeremiah is constantly lurking in the background, secretly listening-in to private conversations…. so he has more information than anyone else, and then deviously uses this information to his advantage. He, is also, always interrupting any intimate or meaningful conversations that Belly & Conrad have, because he is so worried they might resolve their issues and get back together. He is playing them so dirty… trying to control everything… so he can get his prize. There is absolutely nothing healthy & honest about Jeremiah and Belly’s relationship…. theirs is a very toxic union…. and this is why it will never work.

This article Totally summarizes why I'm team Jeremiah. Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher now both know what it feels like to not get chosen by Belly, and it’s safe to say that one handled that rejection significantly better than the other. When Jeremiah learns about his older brother kissing their shared crush, he’s mad, but he doesn't act in such an immature way. In fact, he won’t even act on his feelings until Belly tells him multiple times that she is going to choose him months after she broke up with Conrad. When Conrad and Belly were a couple, instead of showing his anger, Jere internalized it, which isn’t great. Ghosting is never the right answer, but I honestly think he was justified in his actions, because he did not want to “be the one to keep you guys apart,” as he told his brother in Episode 5. Jere was just as hurt as Conrad, and ultimately he respected his brother and Belly. It never felt like Conrad validated his brother’s feelings, while Jeremiah was constantly trying to do what was right for everyone. My guy Jeremiah so clearly cares deeply about Belly, and he was just as hurt as Conrad was back in Season 1, and they've both dealt with the same trauma and loss in the last year. The least Conrad could do is show his brother some empathy, and try to understand that Jere has been best friends and in love with Belly for a long time

Came in knowing which couple was endgame in the books but Jelly just captured my heart so badly! I really hope Jenny Han has the ability and the nerve to accept that its okay to change the ending of the book she wrote. It won't make her less of an author. As a mother of an 11-yr old boy, I feel that Jeremiah sets a better example for my son by showing emotional growth and maturity. He chose not to let his anger and hurt rule his actions and gave Belly the full freedom to choose what she thinks is best for herself while remaining the steadfast best friend that he was in the beginning. Therefore, it was only right that he got his happiness and reward when Belly chose him to have a relationship with. We need more examples like him in movies nowadays so our little boys will know how to grow up to become emotionally mature young men who are emotionally fit and ready to enter a committed relationship. I hope Season 3 will not ruin this very promising story arc for Jeremiah.

The scene with Conrad outside their motel room in Episode 8 shows his maturity and willingness to sacrifice his own happiness for the sake of his brother and Belly's own happiness. This is a very admirable trait. Not many parents teach this to our children nowadays.

In the books I was always team Jelly, except for what Jer did in the third book, which I hope does not play out in the third season. Conrad always read toxic to me and I just never vibed. Now even more see him in the show. Gavin and Lola’s chemistry makes it hard to route for what we know is coming with him. Really hope they rewrite the ending for season three away from the books.

Jeremiah is the better person and choice. He actually deserves better than both Belly and Conrad. I haven’t read the book series and from comments made here and other places, I probably won’t. Season 2 ended perfectly and I’ve no desire to see that lovely ending ruined.
Jeremiah is the best honestly he goes out of his way to be good for everyone and rarely gets the same level dedication given back to him.
He's a better brother to Conrad than Conrad ever was to him as he always dismisses Jeremiah's feelings and considers them unimportant.
His father clearly favors Conrad while Jeremiah always tries to give him the benefit of the doubt all while he's Dad places Conrad on a pedestal and ignores him.
Steven he's so Called "Friend" Worshipes Conrad thinking Jeremiah is "easy" and not good enough for Belly despite all the emotional support and understanding he gives her. Ignoring that's its Jeremiah who pushes Belly to go after he dreams while with Conrad Belly spends all her time focused on him she neglects her needs.
Lastly Belly poor Jeremiah feels that she and his mother Susannah are the only people who see him. He goes out of his way to be there for her while she says she's giving herself a real chance with Jeremiah all the while she hopelessly pines for Conrad it's just not fair honestly.
Jeremiah isn't entitled to Belly's love and affections but he's entitled to have someone as hopelessly devoted to and committed to him as he is to them.

So I know that a lot of team Conrad people like to talk about how the light was on Conrad and not Jeremiah in the motel room scene because Conrad is the light to Belly and I saw that and totally understand it. Now hear me out when Belly goes looking for Jeremiah the sun wasn't fully out until Belly in her own way tells Jeremiah she chose him this time and then the sun came out and stayed on them for the rest of that scene. So maybe it's symbolic of Belly's feelings officially changing that at first Conrad was the sun but now Jeremiah is the sun for her.

Honestly, I had to give the series a second try. When I started the series about a year ago, I gave up on it after the first episode because I could see where it was going. A "love" story with misunderstandings, a long back and forth, an "I want you", an "I don't want you" and so on - A "love" story that is supposed to show that a toxic relationship is romantic, worth striving for and destined for eternity - No thanks!
By chance I came across the scene between Jeremiah,Belly and the flat tire (where Season 1 was more or less summarized), and something between the two of them grabbed me, like a potential Endgame?
And so I gave the show a 2nd chance and fell in love with Jelly (the two of them have such great chemistry) and in the end I was also proud that Belly broke away from Conrad to find her happiness with Jeremiah who is good for her, who gives her security and something real, who she could and would love in the future - that's a love story I wanted to see told.
Well then I learned that the series is based on a book series and let myself be spoiled - and yes why am I not surprised that of course the "true" first love wins in the end. And why am I not surprised that characters are bent for this to make Bonrad right. And to be clear this is not meant to be Conrad bashing, it takes two to make a relationship work and Conrad was not good for Belly, just as Belly was not good for Conrad. This is simply about the Bonrad concept.
And while I'm at it - what the hell is going on with some Bonrad shippers anyway? I don't want to attack anyone personally, but what I'm hearing and reading is beyond shipping. There is a lot of hating on Jeremiah's character and most of the Jelly scenes are overheard and overlooked at because people can't accept that Belly is trying to move on from a failed relationship.
OMG YES. This is exactly how i think and YES that scene of them with the flat tire that they argue is amazing, I tried to ship Conrad and Belly but im just not having their story, its just so empty, so full of nothing. Then there is Belly and Jeremiah and i don’t know what it is about them together, feels so genuine, their chemistry is very strong, very natural. Everything with Belly and Conrad feels forced to me. I like Jelly way better. But sadly, i don’t think Jenny is going to change this ending wich is very frustrating because their story is way cooler than a “meant to be” nonsense.

Has anyone else noticed that throughout this season whenever Belly was at her lowest point she went looking for Jeremiah or when Jeremiah knew Belly needed someone he was there for her.
Episode 1 Belly fights with Steven and her mom she calls Jeremiah even though they haven't talked in a year.
Episode 3 Belly's upset about Susannah and losing volleyball she talks to Jeremiah who instantly cheers her up.
Episode 4 she's scared to go on the ride and Jeremiah is there for her, Plus a instinctively grab for each other's hands.
Episode 5 Belly gets bad news from her volleyball coach and she goes to Jeremiah.
Episode 6 she fights with Conrad and the house is getting torn up. She is crying, drunk and she sees Jeremiah and tried to get to him.
Episode 7 she fights with her mom, Jeremiah knows shes upset and needs to talk to someone so he finds her on the beach.
But you know they don't have any kind of connection
I know she always Turns to him at her lowest points and he's there for her consistently but Somehow according to the Bonrad fans. Having a real relationship based on honest healthy communication, emotional support and vulnerability and feeling safe and supported by that person isn't enough for a relationship apparently.
No a real relationship is based on hopeless infatuation and pinning for someone who never opens up and will just eventually hurt you.

Belly’s mission this season after she fights with Jeremiah on the side of the road, has been to fix her mistake of choosing Conrad over Jeremiah, last summer. Jere further manipulates Belly to beg him to take her back…. because he wants her to work for it… punishment for not having chosen him last summer…. he is so cleverly scheming and vindictive. Then, anytime Belly tries to share her opinion, and Jeremiah doesn’t like it, he frowns, and Belly changes her answer, just to please him. So, no, Belly and Jeremiah do not have healthy & honest communication. Belly is walking on eggshells around Jeremiah, trying to please him, saying what he wants to hear, even if she has to lie about what she is really thinking. Also, Jeremiah is still very well aware, that Belly & Conrad still love each other…Jeremiah admits this himself, in the episode he narrates, when he states that they have this invisible force between them… which makes Jeremiah insecure & extremely jealous. But, even knowing, full well, that they still care for each other deeply, doesn’t stop him from scheming to keep them apart. He doesn’t care about how much Belly & Conrad still love each other, Jeremiah just wants to get what he wants.. and that is Belly. So, Jeremiah is constantly lurking in the background, secretly listening-in to private conversations…. so he has more information than anyone else, and then deviously uses this information to his advantage. He, is also, always interrupting any intimate or meaningful conversations that Belly & Conrad have, because he is so worried they might resolve their issues and get back together. He is playing them so dirty… trying to control everything… so he can get his prize. This article Totally summarizes why I'm team Jeremiah.
Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher now both know what it feels like to not get chosen by Belly, and it’s safe to say that one handled that rejection significantly better than the other. When Jeremiah learns about his older brother kissing their shared crush, he’s mad, but he doesn't act in such an immature way. In fact, he won’t even act on his feelings until Belly tells him multiple times that she is going to choose him months after she broke up with Conrad.
When Conrad and Belly were a couple, instead of showing his anger, Jere internalized it, which isn’t great. Ghosting is never the right answer, but I honestly think he was justified in his actions, because he did not want to “be the one to keep you guys apart,” as he told his brother in Episode 5. Jere was just as hurt as Conrad, and ultimately he respected his brother and Belly. It never felt like Conrad validated his brother’s feelings, while Jeremiah was constantly trying to do what was right for everyone.
My guy Jeremiah so clearly cares deeply about Belly, and he was just as hurt as Conrad was back in Season 1, and they've both dealt with the same trauma and loss in the last year. The least Conrad could do is show his brother some empathy, and try to understand that Jere has been best friends and in love with Belly for a long time
