It was really great to see Paxton's emotional development in this season, as well seeing Devi and Paxton's relationship flourish into eventually more than just a sexual relationship but an emotional one too. I hope if there is a season 3 the writing will let them grow more without having to split them up. No more love triangles PLEASE.

I think Paxton is better for Devi because even after she cheated on him, he was willing to give her a second chance. I also believe Devi makes him a better person and they just complement each other. Ben didn’t want Devi back until he realized she was moving on with Paxton and I find that pretty selfish. you're right. even though I was team Paxton from season 1, I never disliked Ben. and there's no doubt that devi made some very questionable and hurtful decisions.but I found it shitty when ben got together with aneesa after he saw her hanging out with devi. in a sense, ben got together with her out of spite and aneesa is nothing but a devi's replacement to him. this was shitty of him. he also attacked devi when she was in a vulnerable situation in both her school and her home, and made her figure out how to make aneesa stay just so that he can date her (while clearly having strong feelings for devi). he only thought of Devi just about when she became more inclined toward paxton and she was trying to mend her relationship with paxton. like you said, paxton accepted her and how she is and for this, I liked even more this season.

I was always team paxton! So Let's get one thing straight. Paxton was never an egotist. As you all know he is not good at expressing himself and he has got such terrible friends, who judge him for no reason. That's the only thing why he treats devi poorly. But he took her to the hospital when that coyote bit her and he was there for her when she fell in the pool. Ben waited for Devi at Malibu, so did Paxton, at her house! He likes devi a lot, but Devi herself is very confused and unstable. But now that they are together, I hope they stay like this in season 3 as well. Edit-I have no hate for Ben tbh. But Devi and Ben as a Romantic couple just doesn't make any sense to me!
I am thinking season 3 will be basically focused on Paxton and Devi relationship, the tests and differences between them might stir trouble..how they will handle it and all . But I trust Ben to stir up trouble in their relationship but they will definitely work it out

Someone said that Paxton only uses Devi when he wants her help and he only came to the dance because of his grades but I think he came to the dance because he realized how much he has changed because of her and how much she believed in him. When everyone thought he was stupid she pushed him to face his own complacency and homeboy had to face his demons and really step up. I think she also loves him, I don't know why Eleanor randomly told ben that info but I don't like him with Devi he is kinda selfish and it doesn't seem as deep. Hopefully Netflix doesnt Devi this up!

Paxton forgave Devi: - the lie that they had sex; - that she was cheating on him with Ben; - that she was partly responsible for his accident and his broken arm. He was the only one with her after the coyote accident and after she fell into the pool at a party. He did not hesitate, but immediately helped her when Ben just watched in these situations. He is one of the most popular people at school, so he could feel doubly offended by what Devi did - he could get over it himself, but society would still tease him because of the whole situation. Even though I was never a popular kid, I understand him very much because no one wants to be mocked for any reason. Especially not because of your emotional matters. And yet Paxton realized that Devi was more important to him than what others thought ❤ He has matured incredibly and I hope that in S3 the creators will refrain from breaking these two. I believe that they can be a power couple who constantly strengthens each other and makes them better people (like when Devi believed in Paxton so he believed in himself and realized he wasn't a fool that many consider him to be). Ben is fine, but he's not a boyfriend for Devi - they should just be friends. Yes, he allowed her to sleep in his house and drove her to Malibu, but at the same time he only remembered about feelings for her when he saw her with Paxton. Not to mention that Ben is (actually was) terribly lonely and I believe he might not necessarily have feelings for Devi herself, what he just loved is that someone finally cares about him. I think it was rather clear Ben’s character had this plot of ‘I’m gonna bully you so hard you’ll never assume I like you’ so we cant say that he didn’t help her after the coyote attack cause they were “enemies”. In fact, it makes more sense for Ben to step up and help her rather than Paxton. She was much closer to Ben at the time considering all she had going with Paxton was the “have sex with me” thing. The only times Ben actually showed he cares were when he drove her to Malibu and fixed her situation with her friends, then the bathroom scene after Paxton rejected her. Otherwise I think Ben just crushed on her since she was basically the only girl that looked his way. The fact she matched his intelligence was just a bonus, not the main factor in my opinion. Because he switched to the next girl that gave him attention (Aneesa) right away, and no I doubt its because she’s the closest he could get to having someone like Devi, cause clearly he had the banter with Aneesa, but she didn’t match his intelligence and competitive like Devi did.
Paxton was always there for her even when devi did him dirty, whereas ben always showed up when she was with paxton. The only reason he started to like devi again at the end of s2 was because aneesa wasnt his nerdy type like devi. Ben liked devi bc she was perfect for him but Paxton liked her for her and despite getting cheated on and he even went to the dance after all that humiliation and judgement from his friends
Yes, I don’t hate Ben or anything but I feel like Ben likes the concept of her, while Paxton likes her for her. And yes Ben did a sweet gesture for Devi taking her to Malibu and stuff, but I see that platonically, like I’m sure Eleanor or fab would for Devi.
I think that paxton genuinely like her but he’s confused and misunderstood most of the time, he wants to be with her but he thinks that society don’t want them together. He got hurt by devi and don’t know how to handle the situation that’s why he’s being horrible to her at first. And he’s used to treat girls that like him like zoe and shira, so he’s confused on how to treat devi as his girlfriend
When Aneesa misplaced her Flashcards for the Debate that moment seemed decisive for Ben to Realise that Devi was the One for him, not Aneesa, Devi would never botch an assignment, Ben is too competitive to be okay with That, but there was no follow up on that. But it seemed like a foreshadowing.
Makes it seem like all he wants to do is win since he’s obvs very competitive, and if he feels that competitive with Paxton to “win” Devi back he can get out of here with that - she’s a person, not something to win. I do like Ben and Paxton, but now that I think about both is rather Devi be with Paxton or alone. I can think of more cons about Ben than Paxton.
YAS FINALLY I SEE SOMEONE TALK ABOUT THIS SCENE. ben appeared to be angry at aneesa and he looked at her differently line he was rethinking things (moment of doubt) there was a lot of foreshadowing this season.

devi never really treated paxton like some in invincible sex god who needed constant obedience and awe surrounding him, which is why I think he initially was attracted to her. yes, she thought he was hot, but she wasn’t afraid to vocalize her thoughts to him. season 2 showed more maturity to paxton, in that he demonstrated self-motivated drive to get into college. initially, maybe he was disinterested, but him connecting to his japanese heritage as well as significantly improving his grades despite not being able to pursue his original passion of swim didn’t hold him back. I certainly think his mature handling of his relationship with devi contrasts how ben went about it this season, and I really, really hope the writers don’t assume devi back to ben and give paxton a shot. he proved how much he’s grown
yesss to this!! I've been rewinding trying to understand how/why Paxton fell for her. Her standing up for herself at the end (vs any other girl who'd just say yes to be with him, even in secrecy) I think really confused him. LOVE this for her.
Tv shows and movies love to go down the predictable, boring, safe route by bringing the main girl back to the “nice guy” or “nerdy guy” - once she learns the “jock” she had a crush on is one-dimensional and a douchebag and an airhead. I hope NHIE doesn’t do that and let’s Devi and Paxton stay in their relationship, because they have developed Paxton’s character and given him an arc.
I used to be team Ben because Paxton acted like a douche in season 1. But after season 2, I don’t know what to think anymoreee ahhh. Ben has a girlfriend now too, so I’m leaning more to Team Braxton surprisingly😭
When did Paxton ever really act like a douche? He was always there for Devi when she was at her lowest. Coyote bite? Paxton rushes to her side and takes her to the hospital. Also takes a pic with her and posts it. Fell into the pool? Paxton pulls her out and drives her home. Let people think theyre having sex? Paxton gets reasonably upset and betrayed yet only calls her out to her face and doesnt correct the rumour. He was intrigued by her from the moment she ran out of his garage after feeling his chest and he befriended her after seeing how kind she was to his sister. Paxton was a goddamn Prince in season 1 and a Saint in season 2. The only time he may have acted like a "douche" in season 1 was after Devi's mom unnecessarily ripped into him and his intelligence. He iced Devi out after that because wtf...her mom was incredibly rude and made him feel even worse about himself. Maybe he thought, hmm she's right, let me not screw up this girl's life since she so obviously has a future and I'm just an idiot. Maybe he was embarassed that Devi agreed with her mother. That scene was incredibly callous, no wonder he wanted to hide from Devi after. I wouldn't call that douche behaviour. He wasn't even mean to her. He still politely talked to her when she asked. I don't get when people say Paxton's a douche because for the most part, he's been a stand up decent guy.
yes! Ben and Devi got us in the first season but after the two timing breakup, he dated her friend and was totally fine with it until the last few days. but Wola! Paxton remained Single all that time, focused on himslf, changed for the better and in the end he changed for their relationship. the writer really did a good job for his char development
Devi challenge paxon and made him actually want to try things and over achieve them and paxon is patient with Devi and her mood swings and anger issues. It’s like they understand eachother. They can always come to a common ground with eachother and put their prides aside.
They are working with eachother and balancing eachother bringing sides of eachother out that they didn’t know was there themselves. Ben on the other hand is just irritating and he is very immature he still thinks everything is a competition between them

Even though they kinda seem cute together and Paxton sort of changed for better thanks to Devi, their relationship is still hard to call healthy for some reasons. Firstly, Devi was always insecure about herself while dating with Paxton. It seems as if she just imagined this "perfect picture" of Paxton, idealised him and tried to fit in with what he wanted forgetting about her interests. If you think so, they don't even have so much in common. I'm not even sure if they know each other good enough. I also had feeling that she kinda show Paxton off, like, look who I am with. When it comes to Ben, then here I see bigger potential for mature healthy relationship. When Devi is around him, she doesn't have to pretend to be someone else. And Ben accepts her just the way she are (just compare Paxton’s words «Devi’s complicated» and Ben’s «I like your personality»). I also like that they are friends at the same time and support each other no matter what. And so far we know, the best relationships are based on friendship. And their jokes towards each other is just one more thing to talk about :D That's why I'm actually team Ben.

Binge watched the 3 seasons twice over thr weekend. I hope Paxton and Devi get together in the end. My favourite couple. They both come a long way. Lets hope the writers get the ending right. Counting down the days for the 8 June.
Paxton is such a sweetheart towards Devi. And even at times when he isn't it's because he felt hurt by her and not because he actively wanted to upset her just because. Like he knows his boundaries and lets Devi know when she oversteps them. And even then he reaches out to her and communicates his thoughts and feelings to her. They have such a great dynamic.
One reason why I prefer devi and Paxton is because you see a character development in Paxton but that isn't seen from Ben he is constantly upset at her choosing Paxton but ignores every time she chooses him

As much as Devi hurt both of them, Paxton is a better choice for her instead of Ben mainly because: 1. Ben literally got with Aneesa after they ended things and flaunted it in her face. 2. Paxton shows up for Devi even in a crisis, though she’s unhinged at times, because he’s accepts her. 3. Devi always had a crush on Paxton so getting with someone she thought was unachievable beats dating your frenemy anyday. 4. Also Eleanor stays dry snitching on Devi’s moves to Ben in both seasons which made her get caught up in this mess and will again most likely in season 3. 😩
Ben got with aneesa because its closest thing he could get to Devi-the girl he actually wanted to be with. Him flaunting it in her face isn't really that bad considering she cheated on him with Paxton and then she started tutoring him and Ben saw them together at school being friendly which hurt him too so he didn't do anything that she hasn't done. Paxton shows up for devi because it makes him look cool and no one thinks anything of it because he's so much more popular than him so no one assumes anything romantic about him and he can keep his reputation. Finally being with someone just because you thought they were out of your league instead of someone who actually really likes you is a mess waiting to happen.
Does it bother anyone else that Ben came up with the notion Unfuckable Nerds? I feel like that was such a nasty red flag and I really hold it against Ben for coming up with that for Devi and her friends. It was really messed up.

Isn’t it funny how this show is supposed to be more of like a comedy , but the storyline and character developments are actually so deep that it turns out as maybe the best serie we ever watched?
It was really great to see Paxton's emotional development in this season, as well seeing Devi and Paxton's relationship flourish into eventually more than just a sexual relationship but an emotional one too. I hope if there is a season 3 the writing will let them grow more without having to split them up. No more love triangles PLEASE.

Damn the biggest fucking mistake she made was two-time them both. I get where Paxton is coming from, I would be embarrassed to get back with the person who pubilcy cheated on me too. For someone with Paxton's status that must've been humiliating. Thank goodness he liked her enough to withstand the embarrassment at the end but she really effed up.
Not just cheated on him, but he got hit by a car and lost scholarship opportunities. It looks pathetic and it probably feels pathetic. you're right. even though I was team Paxton from season 1, I never disliked Ben. and there's no doubt that devi made some very questionable and hurtful decisions.but I found it shitty when ben got together with aneesa after he saw her hanging out with devi. in a sense, ben got together with her out of spite and aneesa is nothing but a devi's replacement to him. this was shitty of him. he also attacked devi when she was in a vulnerable situation in both her school and her home, and made her figure out how to make aneesa stay just so that he can date her (while clearly having strong feelings for devi). he only thought of Devi just about when she became more inclined toward paxton and she was trying to mend her relationship with paxton.

I was always team paxton! So Let's get one thing straight. Paxton was never an egotist. As you all know he is not good at expressing himself and he has got such terrible friends, who judge him for no reason. That's the only thing why he treats devi poorly. But he took her to the hospital when that coyote bit her and he was there for her when she fell in the pool. Ben waited for Devi at Malibu, so did Paxton, at her house! He likes devi a lot, but Devi herself is very confused and unstable. But now that they are together, I hope they stay like this in season 3 as well.
Edit-I have no hate for Ben tbh. But Devi and Ben as a Romantic couple just doesn't make any sense to me!
I am thinking season 3 will be basically focused on Paxton and Devi relationship, the tests and differences between them might stir trouble..how they will handle it and all . But I trust Ben to stir up trouble in their relationship but they will definitely work it out

Someone said that Paxton only uses Devi when he wants her help and he only came to the dance because of his grades but I think he came to the dance because he realized how much he has changed because of her and how much she believed in him. When everyone thought he was stupid she pushed him to face his own complacency and homeboy had to face his demons and really step up. I think she also loves him, I don't know why Eleanor randomly told ben that info but I don't like him with Devi he is kinda selfish and it doesn't seem as deep. Hopefully Netflix doesnt Devi this up!

- the lie that they had sex;
- that she was cheating on him with Ben;
- that she was partly responsible for his accident and his broken arm.
He was the only one with her after the coyote accident and after she fell into the pool at a party. He did not hesitate, but immediately helped her when Ben just watched in these situations.
He is one of the most popular people at school, so he could feel doubly offended by what Devi did - he could get over it himself, but society would still tease him because of the whole situation. Even though I was never a popular kid, I understand him very much because no one wants to be mocked for any reason. Especially not because of your emotional matters. And yet Paxton realized that Devi was more important to him than what others thought ❤ He has matured incredibly and I hope that in S3 the creators will refrain from breaking these two. I believe that they can be a power couple who constantly strengthens each other and makes them better people (like when Devi believed in Paxton so he believed in himself and realized he wasn't a fool that many consider him to be).
Ben is fine, but he's not a boyfriend for Devi - they should just be friends. Yes, he allowed her to sleep in his house and drove her to Malibu, but at the same time he only remembered about feelings for her when he saw her with Paxton. Not to mention that Ben is (actually was) terribly lonely and I believe he might not necessarily have feelings for Devi herself, what he just loved is that someone finally cares about him. I think it was rather clear Ben’s character had this plot of ‘I’m gonna bully you so hard you’ll never assume I like you’ so we cant say that he didn’t help her after the coyote attack cause they were “enemies”. In fact, it makes more sense for Ben to step up and help her rather than Paxton. She was much closer to Ben at the time considering all she had going with Paxton was the “have sex with me” thing. The only times Ben actually showed he cares were when he drove her to Malibu and fixed her situation with her friends, then the bathroom scene after Paxton rejected her. Otherwise I think Ben just crushed on her since she was basically the only girl that looked his way. The fact she matched his intelligence was just a bonus, not the main factor in my opinion. Because he switched to the next girl that gave him attention (Aneesa) right away, and no I doubt its because she’s the closest he could get to having someone like Devi, cause clearly he had the banter with Aneesa, but she didn’t match his intelligence and competitive like Devi did.

As a south indian, this show means a lot to me like im glad to see people just like us. Cant wait for s2 and maitery killed it like girl everything in one show.
devi never really treated paxton like some in invincible sex god who needed constant obedience and awe surrounding him, which is why I think he initially was attracted to her. yes, she thought he was hot, but she wasn’t afraid to vocalize her thoughts to him. season 2 showed more maturity to paxton, in that he demonstrated self-motivated drive to get into college. initially, maybe he was disinterested, but him connecting to his japanese heritage as well as significantly improving his grades despite not being able to pursue his original passion of swim didn’t hold him back. I certainly think his mature handling of his relationship with devi contrasts how ben went about it this season, and I really, really hope the writers don’t assume devi back to ben and give paxton a shot. he proved how much he’s grown
yesss to this!! I've been rewinding trying to understand how/why Paxton fell for her. Her standing up for herself at the end (vs any other girl who'd just say yes to be with him, even in secrecy) I think really confused him. LOVE this for her.
Tv shows and movies love to go down the predictable, boring, safe route by bringing the main girl back to the “nice guy” or “nerdy guy” - once she learns the “jock” she had a crush on is one-dimensional and a douchebag and an airhead. I hope NHIE doesn’t do that and let’s Devi and Paxton stay in their relationship, because they have developed Paxton’s character and given him an arc.

This is amazing writing when they can make you truly sympathetic / rooting for both characters. I feel the same.
When did Paxton ever really act like a douche? He was always there for Devi when she was at her lowest. Coyote bite? Paxton rushes to her side and takes her to the hospital. Also takes a pic with her and posts it. Fell into the pool? Paxton pulls her out and drives her home. Let people think theyre having sex? Paxton gets reasonably upset and betrayed yet only calls her out to her face and doesnt correct the rumour. He was intrigued by her from the moment she ran out of his garage after feeling his chest and he befriended her after seeing how kind she was to his sister. Paxton was a goddamn Prince in season 1 and a Saint in season 2. The only time he may have acted like a "douche" in season 1 was after Devi's mom unnecessarily ripped into him and his intelligence. He iced Devi out after that because wtf...her mom was incredibly rude and made him feel even worse about himself. Maybe he thought, hmm she's right, let me not screw up this girl's life since she so obviously has a future and I'm just an idiot. Maybe he was embarassed that Devi agreed with her mother. That scene was incredibly callous, no wonder he wanted to hide from Devi after. I wouldn't call that douche behaviour. He wasn't even mean to her. He still politely talked to her when she asked. I don't get when people say Paxton's a douche because for the most part, he's been a stand up decent guy.
yes! Ben and Devi got us in the first season but after the two timing breakup, he dated her friend and was totally fine with it until the last few days. but Wola! Paxton remained Single all that time, focused on himslf, changed for the better and in the end he changed for their relationship. the writer really did a good job for his char development

Devi challenge paxon and made him actually want to try things and over achieve them and paxon is patient with Devi and her mood swings and anger issues. It’s like they understand eachother. They can always come to a common ground with eachother and put their prides aside.
They are working with eachother and balancing eachother bringing sides of eachother out that they didn’t know was there themselves. Ben on the other hand is just irritating and he is very immature he still thinks everything is a competition between them

Even though they kinda seem cute together and Paxton sort of changed for better thanks to Devi, their relationship is still hard to call healthy for some reasons. Firstly, Devi was always insecure about herself while dating with Paxton. It seems as if she just imagined this "perfect picture" of Paxton, idealised him and tried to fit in with what he wanted forgetting about her interests. If you think so, they don't even have so much in common. I'm not even sure if they know each other good enough. I also had feeling that she kinda show Paxton off, like, look who I am with.
When it comes to Ben, then here I see bigger potential for mature healthy relationship. When Devi is around him, she doesn't have to pretend to be someone else. And Ben accepts her just the way she are (just compare Paxton’s words «Devi’s complicated» and Ben’s «I like your personality»). I also like that they are friends at the same time and support each other no matter what. And so far we know, the best relationships are based on friendship. And their jokes towards each other is just one more thing to talk about :D

Binge watched the 3 seasons twice over thr weekend. I hope Paxton and Devi get together in the end. My favourite couple. They both come a long way. Lets hope the writers get the ending right. Counting down the days for the 8 June.

Paxton is such a sweetheart towards Devi. And even at times when he isn't it's because he felt hurt by her and not because he actively wanted to upset her just because. Like he knows his boundaries and lets Devi know when she oversteps them. And even then he reaches out to her and communicates his thoughts and feelings to her. They have such a great dynamic.
One reason why I prefer devi and Paxton is because you see a character development in Paxton but that isn't seen from Ben he is constantly upset at her choosing Paxton but ignores every time she chooses him
exactly ! she tried to talk to him & patch up there friendship but he was steady being an ass towards her & just mean asl for no reason . most of the times , she wasn’t even talking to him , he would talk to her & still be an ass .

As much as Devi hurt both of them, Paxton is a better choice for her instead of Ben mainly because:
1. Ben literally got with Aneesa after they ended things and flaunted it in her face.
2. Paxton shows up for Devi even in a crisis, though she’s unhinged at times, because he’s accepts her.
3. Devi always had a crush on Paxton so getting with someone she thought was unachievable beats dating your frenemy anyday.
4. Also Eleanor stays dry snitching on Devi’s moves to Ben in both seasons which made her get caught up in this mess and will again most likely in season 3. 😩
Ben got with aneesa because its closest thing he could get to Devi-the girl he actually wanted to be with. Him flaunting it in her face isn't really that bad considering she cheated on him with Paxton and then she started tutoring him and Ben saw them together at school being friendly which hurt him too so he didn't do anything that she hasn't done.
Paxton shows up for devi because it makes him look cool and no one thinks anything of it because he's so much more popular than him so no one assumes anything romantic about him and he can keep his reputation.
Finally being with someone just because you thought they were out of your league instead of someone who actually really likes you is a mess waiting to happen.
