coming from a team conrad girlie, i’m actually ok with belly choosing jeremiah at the end of the season. i do believe that belly needs the stability and reassurance in a relationship, and jeremiah provides that for her. i think if belly chose conrad at the end of the season, it would completely change the story and how things would work in season 3. jeremiah is 100% the safer, more balanced person compared to conrad. belly and conrad have too much of a past to just throw away and move on from. they’re each other’s first love, and that’s something really special. i think they both need some time away from each other to really heal things that happened between them. i really do believe they’re going to find their way back to each other. they just need some time.
Books aside you can just tell that this season was going to be about Jeremiah and Belly... And I knew my Team Conrad heart was going to get broken. I just didn't know how beautiful the scenes and the ride that we got would be. Every scene with these two was an A+. You can feel the hurt and the love and the invisible string all at once!! But that’s not his fault for how he reacted. A lot comes from Adam and how he grew up. But we also see he keeps it inside to protect others from his pain. They point it out various times. He even says in season 1 “If I keep it inside it’s like she’s still alive” or smt like that when talking to Cleveland. It makes me sooo mad how many people treat him like he’s a bad person. Please take Jeremiah away ... he is just so annoying.. and dumb... how could he possibly think that he could permanently break these 2 apart .... Belly & Conrad are obviously deeply, madly, hopelessly, in love. If Jere would give them about 20 minutes alone, to have a real conversation, without lurking in the background, and interfering at the worst possible time, they would get back together so fast. They are obviously obsessed with each other. When they are in the same room together, it appears like no one else exists around them, and they can't seem to take their eyes off each other. Even when Belly is alone with Jeremiah, she is usually thinking about Conrad. Jeremiah is so pathetic... he needs to get a life.
I think there are a couple important changes from the book that spell out the ending to the show. First, I don’t think Jenny Han would have had Belly lose her virginity to Conrad (this didn’t happen in the book) if she didn’t intend for them to end up together. Second is Jeremiah’s fluid sexuality (this also was not in the book). Han has said Jeremiah is just starting the journey to explore his sexuality. As Book 3 takes place several years later it’s possible Jeremiah has made some decisions about this and that could lead to his and Belly’s break up (rather than the controversial.. did he cheat or not scenario). If Jeremiah chooses a different path, this would allow Conrad and Belly to reunite without hurting Jeremiah and give everyone a happy ending. Just my theory.
I can see Jeremiah realizing he is falling in love with a man.. and panicking because he doesn’t want to give up Belly.. the only girl he has ever loved.. and proposing out of fear of losing her. I think this would be more meaningful than the “cheating” scenario and a real emotional conflict for Jeremiah. In the end either Conrad sees Jeremiah with the guy he loves or Jeremiah confesses and at some point Belly and Conrad are free to reunite and Jeremiah can also be happy.
Gavin is a really conservative Christian not sure how he would feel playing out such a role.. i mean kissing luke briefly in season 1 was okay but a whole gay romance could be hard for him to pull off

Team Conrad 4 life. I think he is such a misunderstood character and I rly do understand him which is why I love him. Everything he does is for others. He puts them above himself, and rly loves belly and Jere. Many people hate on him bc they see the wrong he has done without looking on why he does it. Plus he was hurting so much. He pushes people away when he’s hurt so he doesn’t pour his grief on them, and likes to keep things to himself. But also, It was how he was taught to be by his parents (mostly Adam). He was the oldest child, and they often put more responsibility on his shoulder and forced him to grow up even tho he was still a child. How he reacts to situations is bc of how he grew up and partly just who he is. And experiencing something like his moms death is a lot, especially juggling a relationship and panic attacks too. Yes he has made mistakes but he owns up to them and apologizes. I also ship bonrad sm! They are the definition of RIGHT PERSON WRONG TIME. They started a relationship at the wrong time but they truly are meant to be and there are so many foreshadowing moments and bread crumbs that show that. Both brothers know her well and have chemistry with her but they are both different. Conrad knows her and what she needs without hesitation. Their chemistry is full of romantic love and passion. Jere and her are best friends and their love is platonic and their relationship is lustful. Conrad and Belly will always be in love with each other whether they realize it now or not. They give each other butterflies and fireworks every time they are with each other. The looks they give completely show how much in love they are. She’s the only one who brightens his dark mood, especially with Susannah dying. For these reasons he doesn’t just need her, but want her. But that also makes losing her his biggest fear. And that fear is what causes him to be passive in the relationship. He cares so much about her that most people really don’t see. And on top of that Steven being Team Conrad is everything! His reasons of why Conrad is meant for her and how he sees it’s not Jere says a lot. He is best friends with both of them, and sees what Conrad and belly have been through and still says that! I truly believe Conrad loved her before she turned “pretty” I think the flashbacks say enough. I know he says he always thought of her as a little kid and now she’s not, but I don’t think he means he starts to like her now. I think he’s just saying she’s grown up and he’s realizing he’s been in love with her. While Jere just started to like her that summer. Right now belly is trying to move on and is burying her feelings. She loves Jere but it will never be him and never love Jere like she loves Conrad. Jere is the better person to be in a relationship, but not a relationship with belly. It will always be her and con. You can’t argue with that Even tho I’m team Connie, I don’t hate Jere. I don’t hate him bc I understand Jere. I see that he likes belly and they kiss and she just leaves him for Conrad. That nobody sees how much he rly likes her. Conrad is the one who ends up saying sorry not Jere not once. And he acts like he is all alone when he is the one who ignores Steven and belly reaching out, and Conrad can’t always be there bc his is in freaking college. And I don’t want him to get hurt by Belly but he puts himself in the position to. He inserts himself in. I get both brothers make mistakes but people mainly focus on Conrad. They are both different and cope differently. Jere wants people with him and supporting him (which explains why he is more cheerful and doesn’t try to hurt belly) while Conrad needs people but pushes them away to try to keep things inside (which explains prom) but that doesn’t mean Conrad purposely tried to hurt her. They were very happy together when they were dating. Things js slowly drifted bc he realized his mom wasn’t getting any better…The hardest thing is that what we see of Conrad isn’t who he actually is. When he’s at the boardwalk that’s who he is. But so many people don’t see how complex of a character he is

My opinion why i always said that belly and conrad is a perfect couple. My mom always told me that in a relationship there is plus and minus means if the boy is hot tempered then the girl should soft tempered if its not then the relationship will be end or will be toxic! Conrad is mature, belly is childish and if this two humans got into relationship it would be a perfect relationship. So that's why i always said that Conrad and Belly are made for each other!
I think, when Belly & Conrad stay in Cousins alone, while Belly is engaged to Jeremiah and preparing for her Wedding, in season 3, that Conrad should have a steady girlfriend back at Stanford, who is both very pretty & in pre-med, like him. It would be so inconceivable, after how inconsiderate Belly was towards Conrad, at the end of season 2, that Conrad would continue pining away for Belly, while away at College in California. Conrad’s Stanford girlfriend, should also come to visit at Cousins, while Belly is there. Belly should get a taste of her own medicine… I’m sure Belly will be jealous seeing Conrad with a steady girlfriend, who is attractive & driven, and whom Conrad appears to be smitten with. This will really make it crystal clear to Belly, what she lost, when she chose to be with Jeremiah instead of Conrad, at the end of season 2. Some things we know about Jeremiah, so far, are that he: - looks like a fun guy, who appears to like partying hard and being the life of the party - looks like he can dance really well to club music (i.e., has great dance moves) - was voted homecoming king and seems to be very popular… especially with the ladies - is not very academically driven or career focused - doesn’t seem very interested in any particular field at the moment - will be starting, Finch College, this Fall, a second rate university….. with no chosen major, as far as the audience knows - is someone who seems to only take food & flirting seriously (according to Steven, season1) - only started to take a special interest in Belly, when she returned to Cousins, looking all grown up, last summer, when she turned 16… in other words, he only noticed her when she turned pretty - has very recently decided, after seeing that his brother Conrad is interested in Belly, that his main goal in life, is to come between Belly & Conrad, by sabotaging/interrupting any intimate moments or conversations between them, and making Belly his own - is sexually fluid, and has hooked up with many people, both male and female, and is still figuring out his sexuality - he looks to be very sexual, and said himself, that he wants to kiss the shit out of Belly - usually has more information than anyone else, because, he is always lurking in the background & eavesdropping - is shown to be very selfish & entitled, likes manipulating situations to his advantage, and cares very little about who he hurts in the process - never apologizes.. and never takes accountability for hurting others - is someone who looks like a male stripper ( but that is just my personal opinion). Their father, Adam, should have been taking care of Susannah, when she was sick, but instead Conrad was doing most of it. And, when Conrad went away to college, and Jere had to help his sick mom, because he was still living at home, Jeremiah accused Conrad of not being there as much as him. And, instead of getting angry at his father for not being there enough to help out, Jeremiah, instead got mad at Conrad…. which is ridiculous. Jeremiah, finally got a taste of what it was like being Conrad, in terms of family & household responsibilities….. and he didn’t like it one bit. - he is extremely protective of the people he loves - everyone has very high expectations of him, both academically, and athletically - he is known to be very competitive, a high academic achiever, and an excellent athlete - he loves science, in particular medicine, and was accepted to Stanford University, one of the most prestigious universities in the world, into their pre-med program - he has had a special connection with Belly, since they were young, and they both seem to know each other, as well as, details about each other, better than anyone else - when Conrad, first saw Belly, when she returned to Cousins, looking all grown up & pretty…. Conrad told her he liked her better with glasses….he was most likely worried that now that she looked more mature & pretty… that she wouldn’t like him as much as she used to… and that their special bond would be broken… he was so afraid of loosing her - he is not the best communicator… he seems to be quite sensitive.. tends to keep his feelings to himself… usually waits too long to express what he is feeling…. until it’s too late… and people have moved on… leaving him behind - he has had only a few girlfriends, instead of many casual hookups - he appears to be a hopeless romantic who believes in soulmates & infinite undying love… and bought Belly an infinity necklace symbolizing that their love is infinite (i.e., has no bounds)… - apologizes and takes account for his mistakes - he is a really tall, handsome guy… who fits the description gentle giant quite well (IMO) - he is more of an introvert - he is someone who has a good idea of what he wants to do with his life, and is starting to figure out who he is & what his place is, in the world - Career/education-wise, he seems to be very focused & driven & a great example of a class act, who really has his act together. Looks like we all are sharing our thoughts, so here goes... I don't think the love story with any of the boys is good at all. And could we just stop comparing the brothers? Both are different. I love Conrad as a character but I don't hate Jer. I just think both are lot different. Jer is kind and good to Belly, but he is much more jealous and insecure. Conrad loves and cares for belly but doesn't know how to handle his emotions. So they are a lot different. But i find Conrad to be a deeper character as he not only has to be responsible and be the elder brother, he also has to let go of his love. Neither the love stories nor the characters are perfect. Some are just more likable to everyone of us. So, please stop dividing yourself in teams and just enjoy the growth and journey of your favourite characters.
After watching this something clicked for me. One, the writers are not there on set with the actors and that is why actors don't know where the character is coming from. Because I have noticed that anytime Conrad has conversation with Belly that is difficult it ends up feeling too forced. Like, whenever they address their past behaviours it is immediately followed by a nonchlant laugh by the actor and an indifferent vibe that creates no spark but keeps things surface level. And then Conrad and Jeremiah interactions are always so less human. If somebody did not know thay were brothers would they be able to guess? So, Conrad has to make sure his younger brother doesn't get hurt by him being with a girl they both like. And, what does he do? He approaches a grieving Jeremiah starts a conversation about what he wants, what the girl wants. States what should happen and when the person agrees he leaves. So, it felt so mechanic and like a check list. I talked to him, he said yes. Move on. No, they are brothers, who are grieving right? So, why not built it and show the real emotions. This show either uses mom with cancer as a prop and is afraid to show sadness because it would take away from love triangle or they just don't know how to balance it.

If Jeremiah chooses a different path, this would allow Conrad and Belly to reunite without hurting Jeremiah and give everyone a happy ending. Just my theory.
I can see Jeremiah realizing he is falling in love with a man.. and panicking because he doesn’t want to give up Belly.. the only girl he has ever loved.. and proposing out of fear of losing her. I think this would be more meaningful than the “cheating” scenario and a real emotional conflict for Jeremiah. In the end either Conrad sees Jeremiah with the guy he loves or Jeremiah confesses and at some point Belly and Conrad are free to reunite and Jeremiah can also be happy.

I think he is such a misunderstood character and I rly do understand him which is why I love him. Everything he does is for others. He puts them above himself, and rly loves belly and Jere. Many people hate on him bc they see the wrong he has done without looking on why he does it. Plus he was hurting so much. He pushes people away when he’s hurt so he doesn’t pour his grief on them, and likes to keep things to himself. But also, It was how he was taught to be by his parents (mostly Adam). He was the oldest child, and they often put more responsibility on his shoulder and forced him to grow up even tho he was still a child. How he reacts to situations is bc of how he grew up and partly just who he is. And experiencing something like his moms death is a lot, especially juggling a relationship and panic attacks too. Yes he has made mistakes but he owns up to them and apologizes.
I also ship bonrad sm! They are the definition of RIGHT PERSON WRONG TIME. They started a relationship at the wrong time but they truly are meant to be and there are so many foreshadowing moments and bread crumbs that show that. Both brothers know her well and have chemistry with her but they are both different. Conrad knows her and what she needs without hesitation. Their chemistry is full of romantic love and passion. Jere and her are best friends and their love is platonic and their relationship is lustful. Conrad and Belly will always be in love with each other whether they realize it now or not. They give each other butterflies and fireworks every time they are with each other. The looks they give completely show how much in love they are. She’s the only one who brightens his dark mood, especially with Susannah dying. For these reasons he doesn’t just need her, but want her. But that also makes losing her his biggest fear. And that fear is what causes him to be passive in the relationship. He cares so much about her that most people really don’t see. And on top of that Steven being Team Conrad is everything! His reasons of why Conrad is meant for her and how he sees it’s not Jere says a lot. He is best friends with both of them, and sees what Conrad and belly have been through and still says that! I truly believe Conrad loved her before she turned “pretty” I think the flashbacks say enough. I know he says he always thought of her as a little kid and now she’s not, but I don’t think he means he starts to like her now. I think he’s just saying she’s grown up and he’s realizing he’s been in love with her. While Jere just started to like her that summer. Right now belly is trying to move on and is burying her feelings. She loves Jere but it will never be him and never love Jere like she loves Conrad. Jere is the better person to be in a relationship, but not a relationship with belly. It will always be her and con. You can’t argue with that
Even tho I’m team Connie, I don’t hate Jere. I don’t hate him bc I understand Jere. I see that he likes belly and they kiss and she just leaves him for Conrad. That nobody sees how much he rly likes her. That through his eyes he doesn’t understand Conrad. That he feels alone and had to be with Susannah on his own. And I understand what he does and why which is why I don’t hate him. But he is an on and off character for me. I definitely have moments of loving him. I think he is a rly fun and sweet character, that he cares and is there for belly when he needs to be, and his growth this season. Especially this last episode. But I also have moments of disliking him. Part is bc I don’t ship jelly at all. I think he is great but not the one for her and he knows it. I don’t like how jealous he is. It gets to the point where he acts like he is gonna die seeing them together and can’t just be happy for them. Or the fact he KNOWS there is still something between con and belly and still interrupts them and doesn’t trust them. But I get that’s part belly. He also never apologized for yelling at Conrad. Conrad is the one who ends up saying sorry not Jere not once. And he acts like he is all alone when he is the one who ignores Steven and belly reaching out, and Conrad can’t always be there bc his is in freaking college. And I don’t want him to get hurt by Belly but he puts himself in the position to. He inserts himself in.
I get both brothers make mistakes but people mainly focus on Conrad. They are both different and cope differently. Jere wants people with him and supporting him (which explains why he is more cheerful and doesn’t try to hurt belly) while Conrad needs people but pushes them away to try to keep things inside (which explains prom) but that doesn’t mean Conrad purposely tried to hurt her. They were very happy together when they were dating. Things js slowly drifted bc he realized his mom wasn’t getting any better…The hardest thing is that what we see of Conrad isn’t who he actually is. When he’s at the boardwalk that’s who he is. But so many people don’t see how complex of a character he is

I think, when Belly & Conrad stay in Cousins alone, while Belly is engaged to Jeremiah and preparing for her Wedding, in season 3, that Conrad should have a steady girlfriend back at Stanford, who is both very pretty & in pre-med, like him. It would be so inconceivable, after how inconsiderate Belly was towards Conrad, at the end of season 2, that Conrad would continue pining away for Belly, while away at College in California. Conrad’s Stanford girlfriend, should also come to visit at Cousins, while Belly is there. Belly should get a taste of her own medicine… I’m sure Belly will be jealous seeing Conrad with a steady girlfriend, who is attractive & driven, and whom Conrad appears to be smitten with. This will really make it crystal clear to Belly, what she lost, when she chose to be with Jeremiah instead of Conrad, at the end of season 2.
Some things we know about Jeremiah, so far, are that he:
- looks like a fun guy, who appears to like partying hard and being the life of the party
- looks like he can dance really well to club music (i.e., has great dance moves)
- was voted homecoming king and seems to be very popular… especially with the ladies
- is not very academically driven or career focused
- doesn’t seem very interested in any particular field at the moment
- will be starting, Finch College, this Fall, a second rate university….. with no chosen major, as far as the audience knows
- is someone who seems to only take food & flirting seriously (according to Steven,
season1)
- only started to take a special interest in Belly, when she returned to Cousins, looking all grown up, last summer, when she turned 16… in other words, he only noticed her when she turned pretty
- has very recently decided, after seeing that his brother Conrad is interested in Belly, that
his main goal in life, is to come between Belly & Conrad, by sabotaging/interrupting any intimate moments or conversations between them, and making Belly his own
- is sexually fluid, and has hooked up with many people, both male and female, and is still
figuring out his sexuality
- he looks to be very sexual, and said himself, that he wants to kiss the shit out of Belly
- usually has more information than anyone else, because, he is always lurking in the background & eavesdropping
- is shown to be very selfish & entitled, likes manipulating situations to his advantage, and cares very little about who he hurts in the process
- never apologizes.. and never takes accountability for hurting others
- is someone who looks like a male stripper ( but that is just my personal opinion). In the comments section... many girls claim that he is very HOT…
- is more of an extrovert
- is someone who hasn’t even come close to figuring out who he is, what he wants to do
with his life, or what his place in the world is
- seems to be a real class act, who really has his act together (joking… obviously). Jeremiah has a long way to go… in all aspects of life…. including his career & personal life
Some things we know about Conrad, so far, is that:
- he has been given a lot of responsibility, from a young age, as the eldest son, and acts more like a father to Jeremiah, than a brother…. because their father is not very present as a parent…. and their mother, although, a lovely soul, is obsessed, with making everything look beautiful on the outside, and trying to give the impression of having a perfect family. Their father, Adam, should have been taking care of Susannah, when she was sick, but instead Conrad was doing most of it. And, when Conrad went away to college, and Jere had to help his sick mom, because he was still living at home, Jeremiah accused Conrad of not being there as much as him. And, instead of getting angry at his father for not being there enough to help out, Jeremiah, instead got mad at Conrad…. which is ridiculous. Jeremiah, finally got a taste of what it was like being Conrad, in terms of family & household responsibilities….. and he didn’t like it one bit.
- he is extremely protective of the people he loves
- everyone has very high expectations of him, both academically, and athletically
- he is known to be very competitive, a high academic achiever, and an excellent athlete
- he loves science, in particular medicine, and was accepted to Stanford University, one of
the most prestigious universities in the world, into their pre-med program
- he has had a special connection with Belly, since they were young, and they both seem to know each other, as well as, details about each other, better than anyone else
- when Conrad, first saw Belly, when she returned to Cousins, looking all grown up & pretty…. Conrad told her he liked her better with glasses….he was most likely worried that now that she looked more mature & pretty… that she wouldn’t like him as much as she used to… and that their special bond would be broken… he was so afraid of loosing her
- he is not the best communicator… he seems to be quite sensitive.. tends to keep his feelings to himself… usually waits too long to express what he is feeling…. until it’s too late… and people have moved on… leaving him behind
- he has had only a few girlfriends, instead of many casual hookups
- he appears to be a hopeless romantic who believes in soulmates & infinite undying love… and bought Belly an infinity necklace symbolizing that their love is infinite (i.e., has no bounds)…
- apologizes and takes account for his mistakes
- he is a really tall, handsome guy… who fits the description gentle giant quite well (IMO)
- he is more of an introvert
- he is someone who has a good idea of what he wants to do with his life, and is starting to figure out who he is & what his place is, in the world
- Career/education-wise, he seems to be very focused & driven & a great example of a class act, who really has his act together. In regards to his personal life… he still has some work to do.

Looks like we all are sharing our thoughts, so here goes... I don't think the love story with any of the boys is good at all. And could we just stop comparing the brothers? Both are different. I love Conrad as a character but I don't hate Jer. I just think both are lot different. Jer is kind and good to Belly, but he is much more jealous and insecure. Conrad loves and cares for belly but doesn't know how to handle his emotions. So they are a lot different. But i find Conrad to be a deeper character as he not only has to be responsible and be the elder brother, he also has to let go of his love. Neither the love stories nor the characters are perfect. Some are just more likable to everyone of us. So, please stop dividing yourself in teams and just enjoy the growth and journey of your favourite characters.

Ahem no offense to any Conrad fans but um… I don’t care about the ending of the book I want her and jer to get married not conradddd
After watching this something clicked for me. One, the writers are not there on set with the actors and that is why actors don't know where the character is coming from. Because I have noticed that anytime Conrad has conversation with Belly that is difficult it ends up feeling too forced. Like, whenever they address their past behaviours it is immediately followed by a nonchlant laugh by the actor and an indifferent vibe that creates no spark but keeps things surface level. And then Conrad and Jeremiah interactions are always so less human. If somebody did not know thay were brothers would they be able to guess? So, Conrad has to make sure his younger brother doesn't get hurt by him being with a girl they both like. And, what does he do? He approaches a grieving Jeremiah starts a conversation about what he wants, what the girl wants. States what should happen and when the person agrees he leaves. So, it felt so mechanic and like a check list. I talked to him, he said yes. Move on. No, they are brothers, who are grieving right? So, why not built it and show the real emotions. This show either uses mom with cancer as a prop and is afraid to show sadness because it would take away from love triangle or they just don't know how to balance it.
