Sure enjoy your videos, my wife and I are mule riders also and former Idahoans. We’d love to get are mules out there and ride in gods country. Keep it up
I really enjoyed this ride.. the way you guys produce these films gives me the feeling of being there..both you and the mules have a nice easy vibe… it woulda been nice to see what happened with the dog.. We probably passed you guys on 93 as we were coming back home from a trip to Oregon.. Looking forward to more from y’all.. All the best. 🫏🫏
Thank you!! Haha yes too bad Jason didn’t have the GoPro going when the dog came after us lol! Hope you had a great trip to Oregon! And thank you!! ☺️☺️
Now that’s a great day! Y’all are certainly a breath of fresh air in the crazy world we’re currently living in! I’m looking forward to more awesome adventures.
Loved this video. The mountains against that deep blue sky were breathtaking. I’m sorry you missed the lake, but I agree that the trip was still worth it. Can’t wait to see more trail rides in the future. Although, I am enjoying all of your videos. Take care and God bless! 😊🙏🐴🏞
What is The advantage off ridning mules on a trip like this ? There is no mules where I live but there is something about Them i love when seen Them BR Lars
We just love them! On this particular trail there really isn’t an advantage over horses. But on steep rocky stuff they tend to pick their way a bit more carefully in general.
I am enjoying catching up. Clyde and Riotta are great mules. Fantastic country. Love your story on ya'lls journey till now. Riotta is a gorgeous Zeb Dunn, Clyde is a good-looking white Jon mule. I see many, many yrs ridings these companions.
Thank you so much! They’re awesome mules for us! Lord willing, we’ll have a solid 20 more years with them 😊🙏🏼 They’re coming along well enough that we’re not nervous every time we take them into the mountains and we can just enjoy our rides with them finally 😊
I hunted the Sawtooth Mtns a few years back .. killed a 5x5 bull .. that was near Stanley ,Idaho .. I rode a big 17 hand gaited molly mule on that trip .. a far pull from NE Oklahoma.. about 32 hrs I believe .. great video .. keep up the good work. Onward and Upward is the Watchword..
Oh that’s awesome! What a memorable trip that must have been 😊 That country is so beautiful, and to get to hunt up there in the fall must have been incredible!
Magnificent view great video thanks so what'd you have for lunch do cellphones work good up there. And I wanted to ask Jason if he wouldn't mind telling me does he carry a rifle pistol up there you all keep it up your doing good and looking forward to the next one bye kray
Thank you!! It’s sooo pretty here- we’re really thankful to be able to live and ride in these mountains 😊 Thank you for taking time to watch and leave such a nice comment! We really appreciate it! 😊🙏🏼
I stumbled onto your videos on accident, enjoyed watching. You have some nice mules. I also live in Idaho and have a pen full of mules. Myself and a group of mule riders ride the Sawtooth's, The Frank, Selway and others. You picked a great place to ride. If you ever need info or want to expand into different types of mule riding touch back, we have done it all. Keep riding.
Oh wow! That’s awesome! We absolutely love riding our mules in this country… they’re still fairly green, but they’re doing well enough that we’re finally able to enjoy most our rides lol We’d love to get in touch with you! If you have instagram, and want to reach out, that would be awesome! (We try not to share too much personal info on here) Our instagram is just mountain_built_mules 😊
Drove from Boise up along the ST to Samon ID. Absolutely beautiful. Would love to do it again someday. Also a mule skinner from Utah. Lots of pacing and riding in the Unitas and Grey's river areas of Wyoming.
Oh that’s really cool! Yeah, this country up here is really beautiful! 😊 We would love to explore that country in the Uintas some day, the pictures and Google Earth sure look incredible!
I usually loosen up the breast collar when I let the horses graze. Gives them more room on their neck and doesn’t stretch out the breast collar. Thank you for a great video and taking us along.
Thank you so much! Yes we are! We are switching to another company. We will have hats back in (including new designs!) and some stickers (all new!) very soon! But shirts and hoodies won’t be restocked for a while and some designs are discontinued.
Thank you so much for taking time to watch and for leaving such an incredibly nice comment! We love that country up there and we’re sure thankful to live here 😊
Question: a large group of mule riders are headed to South Dakota from Michigan in September and I see that one of your sponsors is Standlee. I wanted to buy some certified weed free hay to take on the trip but their compressed bales are not marked as such. Do you know if they are weed free or if they are allowed in the national parks? I see that you use them (French Creek) Can you help with some advice on this? Thanks much.
Thanks for reaching out! That’s great that you guys get to do a trip to the Black Hills with your mules 😊 Super good question- Standlee sells certified as well as non-certified hay and the certified bales will have yellow straps on them and they’ll say that they’re “certified weed free.” And they generally cost a little more. We’ve been to feed stores where they only sell the uncertified bales. Thankfully our local store has both 😊 All the parks we’ve been to do require weed free hay. Hopefully this helps and hopefully your trip goes great! We’re excited for you! Thanks again for reaching out 😊
@@MTN_BUILT that’s great to know and helps so much! I will ask my local store to order the weed free and see if they can get it before we have to leave. One store had the pellets that were certified weed free but my mules don’t like to eat things they aren’t familiar with. Seriously picky mules!
@@MTN_BUILT agreed I have been thing of a mule because I am older I think a calm mule would be nice to ride but I love her color she’s gorgeous and I love y’all and the miles and the scenery
@@bobbiemayers354 thanks so much for the kind words! And yes, I totally agree… a good, laid back mule is such a fun animal to ride… nice, calm, and steady 😊👍🏼

Every time I go out on pack trip I tell myself be careful, These animals are wild by nature... they keep me humble, mules are so smart.
That’s really true! You never know when something crazy can happen with livestock.
Such gorgeous country back in there. I could go back in there and definitely spend some major time.
Us too! That country is awesome! I’m surprised it’s not more crowded

We have one McCall saddle (on the white mule), and one Hud Roberts (on the dun mule) 😊
Drones in the wilderness?
Super good question! Not quite though... we put it away before the boundary :)
no grizzly bear look 😊
