Hi Lina!!! I have this product line and had to throw away the jelly bc it has coconut oil and my hair doesn’t like it at all!!!!

I definitely would love to see you try this lineup without the gel. I have the mousse and it is an amazing curl enhancer but the hold I would say is light to medium. But the clumps I get are so beautiful! It can feel producty if you use too much because it is so dense. For a quick washday in the summer the mousse is perfect especially when I dont brush style and wash my hair more often. Also it's on sale alot I got mine for $5.20 last year. Not your mother's is still by far my favorite mousse and I have yet to find something that compares.

I've been curious to compare NYM mousse with the Cake mousse. I'll add it to my list of product battles I want to do.

Awww man! I bought the gel. I haven't tried it yet. I wish I read the back too, otherwise, I wouldn't have bought it, too. I don't want to have my curl elongated, too. I did try the mousse and I really didn't like the way it made my hair feel producty. I think now that I did overdo it.

That's fair. I don't think I noticed a producty feeling, but I definitely see why this would be easy to overdo. It's so thick! Getting a small amount would be tricky.

I like Cake products for day 2 or 3 hair refreshes when you want some light product. Also has a nice smell to cover 3rd hair day smell! I do love using the moose for day 1 but only after i apply gel.

@@Linas_lovelylocks I use Eco Argon oil or one of Maui Moister’s gels. (The one their discontinuing). Eco and Maui products are very affordable and you get generous amounts and they are somewhat - though not totally CGM approved.

I love cake - we have pretty similar hair, what plays well with yours usually does for me also. I have always only used the curl cream and the mousse with great results. The problem is frizz. I tried again tonight with the curl cream, mousse and then a tiny amount of gel near the roots and it was great. Maybe give it a go?
