That town is the perfect place to stop at when it’s raining. I would have stopped at the local coffee shop, and watched the rain, or read a book. 😉👏👏👏👏
My favorite (paved) pass in Colorado is Independence Pass. But it’s only open after Labor Day. There are places that are so narrow two cars can’t pass each other on it.I think it’s over 12,000 ft high. It’s on the way to or from Aspen. Now that’s an interesting place to visit. My favorite unpaved pass is Kebler in Gunnison County in the Fall. The Aspen trees are absolutely beautiful then. Spend some time in Crested Butte when you go there. 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸

Hello again, Eva! Great that you are joining each week, the viewers of my channel are 90 percent male (which is fine I think), but it’s as well great to meet some female travelers here! 🙌🏻
As other have probably said Ouray is a beautiful town. Years ago we stayed there, rented a jeep and hit the trails all over. They are stunning. And the ghost towns in the mountains. You said in one video you took Engineer's pass on your motorcycle. Brave. We did it in the jeep. I just came upon your videos. Later you have the one in Arkansas. I grew up there and have traveled a lot in Northern Arkansas, but you found some spots I missed and will be venturing there. Enjoy your trip across the USA
Hello my friend.I also love to travel long distances, especially on a bike.Your video would be great. You show beautiful areas in your video. I pray you always laughed and smiled🌷🌷🌷❤❤❤
Very enjoyable, interesting and exciting to discover America through your motorcycle adventurer lens! M y plan is to join in next Thursday for sure 🍀🙏! Thanks a lot 😋😊!
I think that’s an awesome plan - and I can promise you that the plan will work out - as long as you make sure you tune in! Und jetzt darfst du mich enttäuschen, du weißt ja jetzt, wie ungern ich es mag, wenn Pläne nicht funktionieren. 😂
When you’re riding you always miss a lot of the surroundings because you’re busy with riding safely. I always film the whole or most of the tour I make so, at home, I can see what I’ve missed. I hate rain too. Ride long enough in the rain and the water will find its way in your clothes somewhere.
I have to admit this time I mainly stopped for the filming - and not because of the rain. 😂 I drove the first kilometers of the million dollar highway and realized that the footage would be completely useless without having any views on the mountains - so the filming made me turn around. 😂 But: I think you will see in the next episode that it was worth to wait the day! 🤗
I’m loving your videos! Colorado was my home for many years, I now live in southern Missouri. The mechanic that serviced your bike, was a friend of mine Jeremy. That is a very good shop. Enjoy your ride!
Thanks for your reply. I did not realise you only tour for a limited few months and you had home/family/work commitments. I am luckily retired so time for cruising is endless. Drive safely and keep the rubber on the road/track. JB
A few year ago I did a trip to Colorado, i enjoy two passes, Independence pass from Aspen to Vail and Iceberg pass from estes park to Grand Lake, so beatiful. I also did the million dollar Hwy. Very nice too. The two passes onlym open and summer buy any way there's still a llot of snow, but the road it's ok to ride.
Yes Lea, a bummer about the roads being closed! You did however find a great motorcycle shop for service and once again your drone provided us with spectacular views ! Excellent ride ! 👍👍
Yes and there will come up quite some nice mountain scenery in the next two episodes. Not so much gravel but I promise it’s still worth it for the views!
Wonderful video and drone footage. Hwy 141 is indeed a favorite. As far as favorite pass in Colorado, I think Monarch is the best for me. But I mainly ride street bikes. Glad the shop was able to get to you promptly. In my experience, most are very accommodating to travelers providing they have the parts of course. Safe travels. Wherever you are.
Lea, now the black Diva is fit again. The sidestand-switch is not a musthave. It’s the right decision not to drive in the rain and I get the feeling that you will do the pass☺️ Not many people can do trips like this alone but you are really used to it, so I see no probs coming up. Love this video again ❤️Stefan
Sorry im abit late with my comment.. Thumbs up.. Another enjoyable road trip, the views are amazing, lovely scenery.. You were very lucky to turn up and have your motorbike serviced then and there.. Look forward to Thursday :-)
South from Gateway on 141 is a gem, the site of the huge old mill on the mountainside at Uravan about 8 road miles further south from the bridge where you flew the drone is now all cleaned up but was a jaw dropper back in the early 80's when I first rode that beautiful road.
Lovely film Lea...nice place to ride and explore. Excellent filming and drone work...really captures the epic scenery! And only fair to give the T7 some TLC...Cheers, Steve
Awesome Lea what a beautiful shot vid...but you might be riding alone...but your not we are always there with you 😀love your channel... bit late with comment sorry for that see you next week...ride safe 👍🙂🏍👍
I was not so sad to be on the road alone I have to admit, actually quite enjoyed it. But yes, time was running and you will see once I reach Texas I will do some long days with covering big distances. I always wish I had more time - but then in the end I am just happy that I could do it anyways, even if time was a bit short.
Commiserations being unable to hit the passes, I've also had to sack Austria and Italy for the second year running, but just had the best weather ever touring Scotland again.
Great video. I rode Engineer, Ophir and Cinnamon a couple of years ago on my Africa Twin. Cinnamon would have been a good choice since you were fully loaded. Keep the great content coming.
Yes I heard it’s more moderate than some of the other passes I did on my worldtrip - I have never done cinnamon before. Another reason to come back at one point!
What a beautiful America. Lovely small towns, empty and wide roads! By the way, the master tapped the knitting needles with a key - this is completely wrong! They need to be tightened with a dinamometric wrench. If you are still in America, then check in another workshop, otherwise you may lose a couple of knitting needles😆
Well there is always a reason to return to Colorado. Always something new to discover but yes, most of the passes are sometimes not even accessible until close to August. Blaze on wherever the road or dirt finds you. Cheers
Another fantastic video Lea! I love the footage you captured. Enjoy your adventure here and I can't wait for your next video Lady! Peace! Ride SAFE and BE safe Lady! 🙌👏👏👏👌✌🖖🤙👍👋🙂🌹
I've wanted to visit Ouray for a few years. But I'm 1600 miles away. (over by the great lakes) It would take me 4 days @ 400 miles a day just to get there. That's a LOT of riding!
Hi Lea, sorry the lingering snow cheated you of riding the mountain passes it would have made good viewing. I bet the poor old Tenere was relieved to have its long overdue service done, as well as easing your guilty conscience 😀. The Mountains of Colorado are beautiful and a great winter sports area. Have you skied there? Enjoying the journey so far👍🏼.
I would love to ski there! I really want to ski in telluride because everyone says it’s great - and don’t judge me, but I as well would like to ski in aspen. I drove through the town on my worldtrip and quite liked it. 😅
In Ouray, a wonderful place for dinner is The Beaumont Hotel. Being from Germany, I'm surprised you didn't stay at the Weisbaden Hot Springs Spa & Lodgings. Nothing like a nice soak after a days ride especially in that kind of weather.
You may have had disappointments on this stretch of your ride, but I still envy you where you DID successfully make it here in the country I live in. Safe travels and keep on enjoying the awesomeness of the ride.
Cinnamon... i heard great things about it... riding solo may not be advisable, unless you can lift your bike right-side up by yourself. I put my tail between my legs after riding CA BDR with my KTM 1090. My bike doesn't have good leverage points, when it drop to ground, its flat as a pancake. New 890 or 1290 has the gas tank for good leverage. Enjoyed your vids.
Lea, I'm very sad with the changes in plans, adjustments are necessary along the way, ... I wish your partner would fully recover soon ... get inspired by everything that happens, I'm loving the series .... stay safe!
Just love your face when reaching Davis Garage, Lea ..... cos that's how I almost always end up looking like riding where I normally do. Am glad you are on the roll .... ride hard, ride safe n enjoy !
It’s so funny, I think it’s only because my helmet gets so dirty. I can’t wear it anymore without looking like that, even if I have not even done a gravel road 😂😂😂
@@Got2Go You ride quite a bit with your helmet visor pulled up ? Just wondering. Even while riding on tarmac, the fumes of the big trucks lend a lot of grime. Anyways, it increases the pleasures of bathing and washups !!
The cottage!... Without doors, no windows, no wooden floor, without roof top. In the middle, only a piano... Someone is playing, "November rain". Someone stay behind by disease, some how they did it happen... Oh, no! Is raining. A shadow is playing, "Stay way to heaven". The wood cabin isn't there... Only a road and Rocky mountains. A bridge, the river, full of beauty and hope..., looking forward. Two wheels, one person, one route, one motorcycle shining the happiness. The rainbow touch the helmet and say : You are not alone...🌈👌
You are sort of in my area. I live along Hwy 149, in Mineral County, near Creede. Hwy 149 is the only paved road for 4 counties. It runs from just outside Gunnison to South Fork, and travels through 2 of the most remote counties in the lower 48 states. The County I live in is 96% public land, as is Hinsdale County. I am surrounded on 3 sides by the Continental Divide, near the headwaters of the Rio Grande. If you had gone over Engineers Pass, you would have passed near here. Hwy 149 takes you over Slumgullion Pass, and Spring Creek Pass, Lake City and Creede. This is the most beautiful drive I have ever been on, and I highly recommend it. The roads can be windy/curvy, and there is lots of wildlife to watch for, but the road is in good shape. I am sure you are well down the road, but if you pass through, be sure to check in. The Sheriff in Creede can put you in touch. (That's the surest way to communicate, sometimes, as there's only one cell tower in the county, and can be overloaded.) Safe travels! By the way, I used to ride, and have every confidence in your ability, BUT if you go through Pagosa Springs, on Hwy 160 over Wolf Creek Pass, be on your toes. It's steep, windy, and lanes squeeze down at the bottom on the way up. It takes you over the Continental Divide, and the views are outrageous. But treacherous. I live here, and it keeps my attention.
Oh that is indeed a beautiful stretch - I did the one over slumgolian pass, lake city and creede on my worldtrip! Hope to be able to do all of them again at one point, I loved this whole ride a lot!
@@Got2Go I sometimes help trail walkers, and am used to supplying local knowledge and facilities as needed. If you need a place for laundry and showers, just let me know. Safe travels.
Great episode. Glad you were able to find a good service location and get your fix validated. Beautiful scenery and nice little towns. Pity the passes were closed. Looking forward to when you come back to do those 😊 Cheers
I stop there last year hauling our bikes from Atlanta to Ouray and those people were great and helpful. I can recommend this dealer in Montrose Colo. You are on for a great ride!
Beautiful scenery, always more enjoyable on two wheels, by the way i feel sorry about the accident and your travel companion, however riding solo is an advantage as well, freely & not obligated by others, Thank you 🌹Lea ❤️
I always make the routes so even when I ride with my travel partner I decide where we go. 😂 But you are right, being alone on the road has its advantages too and is always a great adventure! I really enjoyed it!!!
I wish you had a centerstand to use exclusively until you have a side stand switch. I know the hard way from the old days. But now this trip is over and you are smarter than the average bear, so you made it. Fresh oil makes things even better. This must have been great fun. Thanks again
Wonderful! Good job and can't wait for the next episode. No plan survives first contact with the "enemy" - in this case weather or injuries to travel partners. I'd love to visit Colorado some day, so can't comment on my favourite pass just yet... One day! 🤞🤞🤞
Great video! It was great that the Yamaha technician agreed with your "fix" :-) I'm still looking for a Tenere, my local dealer has promised to contact me if/when they get one.
What’s your hurry? You only have yourself to consider. If the passes are closed, spend time exploring the local sceneries till the passes you want to ride are open. Best not to make plans. Spontaneity is the best thing about FREEDOM. JB.
Sometimes you have the time to do so (like when doing a world trip), sometimes not. Waiting for the passes to open would have meant waiting for 1-2 months, but I had to fly back to Europe for work, so I knew from the beginning that this trip will be timed very tightly. But for me this is how I travel these days, I somehow realized that I as well love to be at home with my friends and family, so for me its perfect to travel 1-2 months and then be able to go back to my normal life. But of course that means not being as free as when on a journey without time limits. I am sure there will as well come a time again when I will take off for an unlimited time - but that as well has to do with a certain kind of budget that I first must earn. 😂
I have only been to Ouray once (hope to go back soon) but I think its possibly the most beautiful place I have been. Looking forward to seeing where you go in New Mexico I am going to be there next week riding the NM BDR it will be my first time there. I love the trip your on going to be sad when you leave the mountains
Oh the nm bdr is supposed to be awesome! I had planned to ride a big part of it with my travel partner and our other companion, but due to the accident and our stay in gateway I lost too much time so I had to go on another route. Let me know how you liked it! I heard it can be pretty remote in some parts so take care!
That was awesome Lea. The guys at the Davis Service Center are the best. I just got new tires from them at the beginning of this season. I didn't know anything about them either, but I was really impressed with their shop. Beautiful job on this video. Quray is also known for ice climbing. It is a really nice little town. If you're ever this way on your Tenere again, there's a full service Yamaha shop in Gunnison. But the guys in Montrose do all types of bikes. There were some Harley riders in the shop when I was there. Looking forward to your next video! 😎
Oh that’s funny, maybe we were at Davis even around the same time then! I btw have very good memories of gunnison, on my world trip I visited the rodeo there and that was a crazy thing to see! 😳😍
@@Got2Go As they say, "it's a small world." We were waiting in the queue to board a plane from Rome to Frankfurt once and a person I had worked with years before saw and recognized me. It's very strange when those things happen.
@@Got2Go I'm going to have to go to the rodeo the next time it comes around. Yes, there are many cowboys and cowgirls around here. 🤠🐮🐴 I like to call Gunnison Fun-nison. Did you know Gunnison is the coldest town in winter in the lower 48 states?

New 890 or 1290 has the gas tank for good leverage. Enjoyed your vids.
Lea, I'm very sad with the changes in plans, adjustments are necessary along the way, ... I wish your partner would fully recover soon ... get inspired by everything that happens, I'm loving the series .... stay safe!
Thank you so much! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Country music is amazing
I’m from S.California and l love Colorado too.
Never alone because you accompany me with your beautiful poems! Thank you Antonio!
@@Got2Go I have to thank and praise the work reflected in this and other videos, thank you (Got2go).
Ouray , such a nice place.
Ouray and silverton are such nice towns to stay!
Nice roads and views again. Someday I'd like to see a video about how you film all these!
I will ask my travel partner to try to make some videos of me making videos next time 😂😂😂
@@Got2Go Great!!!
Danke schoen!

Yes they are awesome! Such a friendly workshop! Happy you had the same experience!
I love the grand Mesa pass
I think I have never done it! Have to check it out next time!!!
Wonderful adventure 😎👍
Greetings from Bali island of Indonesia 🇮🇩🙏
Thank you and hello to Bali!
@@Got2Go terima kasih 😊🙏💗
Beautiful scenery, always more enjoyable on two wheels, by the way i feel sorry about the accident and your travel companion, however riding solo is an advantage as well, freely & not obligated by others, Thank you 🌹Lea ❤️
I always make the routes so even when I ride with my travel partner I decide where we go. 😂
But you are right, being alone on the road has its advantages too and is always a great adventure! I really enjoyed it!!!
I wish you had a centerstand to use exclusively until you have a side stand switch. I know the hard way from the old days. But now this trip is over and you are smarter than the average bear, so you made it. Fresh oil makes things even better. This must have been great fun. Thanks again
Thank you for joining this trip again! See you next Thursday hopefully.
Cottonwood and independence passes. Plus monarch mountain pass.
I think so too, I was very proud. So proud that I kept my fix all the way to Miami 😂
Great episode Lea! Love Ouray! This was a good mix of all the elements.
Beautiful scenery and awesome drone footage 👍🏽 be safe 🙏🏽
Thank you!
Verry nice. as usaly. hope you can ride ovwe the pass. Bless you.
Du verdienst mehr als eine Million Abonnenten!
Danke!
Madam God created beautiful awesome woman on a motorcycle showing wonderful nature which we can't afford.
Thank you
What’s your hurry?
Loving it , thanks for posting :)
Million dollar Highway👌
Next week! 🤗
🤠🐮🐴 I like to call Gunnison
Fun-nison. Did you know Gunnison is the coldest town in winter in the lower 48 states?
Really, I had no clue about that! 😅
