My very favorite thing is watching a reactor see and hear Voiceplay for the very first time! You did not disappoint!
Voiceplay can and does do every genre, from the sublime to the ridiculous. Sometimes they just sit around and sing, sometimes they go full out with costumes, makeup, scenery and the occasional dance.
Pick anything and you will love it. Just for fun, to see the contrast, react to I Can't Make You Love Me and then In The Hall Of The Mountain King.
Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay.

This was my first introduction to VoicePlay and I was immediately hooked. I've never looked back. Fantastic reaction. But oh Geoff can go a lot lower than that ;) And yes they often give you chills. Often. OMG, Mr Bassalicious. That is his maybe his best nickname yet. Thank you!

Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbithole! Lots and lots of fantastic music to discover from this group. I'll leave it up to others to start you off with suggestions, but I'll just comment that you will see different line ups in their group because ever since 2017 they've had some changes. The three constants are Eli (pronounced like 'Ellie', bald tenor on the left), Geoff (pronounced "Jeff", the Fabio bass in the center) and Layne (beatboxer and baritone) on the far right. These guys have known each other since middle school! The guy between Eli and Geoff is J None, a baritone who was with them for a couple of years but left to go into the Navy a while back (but recently came back to guest with them while he was in the area). The bearded gentleman in between Geoff and Layne is Earl, also someone they met way back in school. He left in a couple of years ago for personal reasons. Since those departures, they've added Cesar de la Rosa, a fantastic baritone/tenor, and have generally enlisted guest or featured performers to fill out the group to five members until they get a permanent fifth added back to the group. They performed on 'The Sing Off' the same year as Home Free, and their lineup then was the same as you see here, except J's place was taken by Tony Wakim. He left the group to work 'behind the scenes' in production, and he and Layne own a studio where they film their own videos under the name of PattyCake Productions-lots of musical/Disney inspired stuff. Geoff also releases his own videos, has done that for a couple of years now, and he generally uses 'duplicates' of himself to sing harmonies with himself. They are located in the Orlando, Florida area and have a lot of theme park and cruise experience and just have a vast variety of talented people that they call on to sing with them.

“Where have I been?” That is exactly what I thought when I came across Voice Play a few months ago. How is it possible that their incredible talent was out there for years and I’m just now seeing it? As others have mentioned Voice Play and Geoff Castellucci’s channels are rabbits holes filled with ear candy so delectable that you find yourself listening on repeat and discovering something new every time.

Voice Play is an amazingly talented group, that sometimes get overlooked, but are rightly at the top of their style. The Trifecta of acapella are Pentatonix, Home Free and Voice Play. Their bass Geoff Castellucci is a master of subharmonics. This video is a couple of years old. Since 2020, they have been upping their game with each song. Dream On is crazy good... As is the medley from Wicked.

Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole! You Have so MUCH amazing music in front of you! Layne the beatboxer and Geoff the bass are both insanely talented arrangerswho do most of the arrangement for the group. J. None (with the braids) is on a tour of Duty as a singer for the Navy and Earl (with the beard) left 2 years ago for personal reasons. Since then they have been joined by Cesar de la Rosa the sassiest bari-tenor ever. Geoff also has his won channel for solo work which you should absolutely check out both for his amazing bassy goodness but also to hear him use more of the top of that 5 octave range!

I will join in on welcoming you to the Voiceplay rabbithole. Every song is great. Those of us who are patrons just got a sneak peak of their next song and all I will say is its mind blowing. Also check out their minis channel, lots of cool and fun stuff there. Today they released their mini of I Made You Look (with some lyric changes)

I enjoyed your reaction SO MUCH! Thank you! This arrangement was done by Layne Stein, the beatbox, and the video was done by Eli (ell-ee) the first singer. The lineup has changed a bit, but Layne and Geoff (the bass) have been singing acapella together since 1997 and they KNOW how to manage change, and how to bring in amazing featured singers and make it sound like they've been together for decades. So - J None, the second singer, is gone for now, went into the military, but is promising to come back. He HAS been back while on leave for a couple of performances. You didn't hear a solo from Earl, the burly guy with the beard, but he left for personal reasons in early 2020. Eli has been with them since 2010 (?I think?) Don't worry when you see new faces, if VP brought them in, then they're going to amaze you. Just enjoy the ride. They do silly stuff, they do massively theatrical pieces, they do serious songs - but no matter what else is going on, the vocals are sublime.

I have to admit that I'm a committed Home Fry, but these guys have some amazing stuff. This one is one of my favorites. But I think my favorite favorite is Dream On, with a different lineup of talent. Geoff does a lot of solo stuff. His cover of Ghost Riders in the Sky is amazing. Have fun exploring!

Girl we have ALL tried to hit low as hell notes when we first hear him sing lol I really hope you react to more of Voiceplay in the future so we can keep seeing your reaction to their ridiculous talent. My hope is that you'll do the old stuff too, not just the newer things. Boy Bands in 5 Minutes and Queen in 5 Minutes are two of my favorite older ones.

I enjoyed this one so much I watched it twice! I adore VoicePlay; so happy you like them too! Others have already given you lots of good suggestions, but I really recommend their covers of Enemy (Arcane), Halo Theme, and I personally love Can't Make You Love Me. Or for their costumes and theater side, maybe try Hoist the Colours or The Dragonborn Comes. They're all amazing.

Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole. Oh honey he goes way lower. We call it a Geoff quake. Geoff Castellucci has his own channel where he does low-bass covers. He just released a cover of The Mills Brothers' classic Till Then.

  • @johndeeregreen4592
    @johndeeregreen4592 ปีที่แล้ว +12

Welcome to VoicePlay. This is one of their more laidback arrangements. Geoff, the bass, wasn't even going low and just keeping a tasteful bassline and solo. When the piece warrants, Geoff can rattle you with his low notes. Tim Foust, the bass of Home Free, and Geoff have nearly identical 5 octave vocal ranges... Geoff is just a bit more agile, in my opinion.

Welcome to the world of Voice Play. I hope you had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year ❤️. Geoff ( Jeff ) the low bass singer of Voice Play has his own channel. Check him out. Pick a song, you can't go wrong. Please do a reaction video of Geoff Castalucci's new cover song " Till Then ". He will melt your heart with this one. So deep & slow, with the piano club feel. This is his brand new one just out.

Don't get confused because there have been a lot of lineup changes in VoicePlay over the years. The only 3 of this lineup still with the group are Eli (Ellie) the first tenor who sang, Geoff (Jeff) the bass and Layne thd beatboxer/vocal percussionist. I love VoicePlay in all of their lineups though. They often have guest singers on songs as well.
When you can listen to Home Free and VoicePlay how can your ears not be happy.

You picked one of my favorite songs from them! You might like something like this next. and I'm thinking you would enjoy Geoff Castellucci's (the bass) solo work. In particular, you may like ain't no sunshine and sixteen tons. Yes, the hair and voice are a lethal combo. Lol
For what may be the most potent combo of Geoff visual and voice, definitely start with sixteen tons. Not his lowest, but it has over 11mil views for a reason. :)

You were talking about DooWop, so you might want to check out their cover of ShBoom when you really get to hear Earl sing. He’s up there with Frankie Valli in those high falsettos.
To see a good range of what they can cover as far as popular music, you might want to check out their Boy Bands in five minutes. I was reluctant because I lived through the boy bands with my son, but I did listen and it’s now one of my all-time favorites. They don’t just do the boy bands that my son’s generation thinks of. They go back to the Temptations and the Beatles and Jackson 5 all the way up through BTS. It’s just a lot of fun and always makes me smile,
Others have already recommended the cover of Bonnie Raitt I can’t make you love me so I’d like to add Geoff’s recent cover of an old Mills Brothers song from the 40s and 50s. It’s not his lowest singing by far but it is gorgeous. Let us know what genre you prefer and we will punch you in the direction because they cover just about everything. The piece that’s coming out on Friday is a cover of a metal band selection. Takes a lot of guts for an a cappella group to cover metal.
Subbed for more VP and Geoff. You might also want to check out The Bass Gang. My favorite right now is Yellow Flicker Beat with a guest artist.
