VoicePlay often has "more" after it seems to be over. Sometimes a shout-out, but sometimes more of the song. So glad to hear you're taking the time to check. VoicePlay does all of their own "stuff," the arrangement for this one was done by Layne, the beatbox, and the video done by Eli, who was the first singer. I love VoicePlay for their creativity and variety, you might want to check out their medley, Queen in 5 minutes, and their cover of Dream On. Actually - it's all good. So anything that catches your eye is worth doing.

VoicePlay always delivers, all kind of genres.
Recommend anything by them, but to give you a start:
    Nothing Else Matters
I Can't Make You Love Me
    We're Good
    Seven Nation Army
    In The Air Tonight
Running Up That Hill and many many more.

Welcome to the VP Rabbit Hole and Fan Family! You're in for a real treat on this journey. And yes, each group has their thing as you said. You really can't compare them because of it, but I will say VP is my favorite aca group. They have fun, they work hard and just make it enjoyable for us!

Welcome to Voiceplay, they are (in my humble opinion) the most diverse and theatrical and brilliant of the a cappella groups.. they have a varied discography from Disney to rock... you can't go wrong with them.... I have subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay and subsequently Geoff Castellucci (bass) from his solo channel. ❤ 🇬🇧

If you can believe it, J. None (the black man who did the high part at 05:03) is now singing bass for the US Navy! Just shows the kind of range these guys have!
And Geoff Castellucci (standing), the bass, can also go up into tenor range, as displayed in his cover of I See Fire on his solo channel.
Appreciate your sticking around for the entire video. VoicePlay and Geoff both tend to thank their patrons, and often have comments on the making of the video.
FYI: while a glass of brandy isn't warmer than any other liquid at whatever temperature, it's best served at or slightly above room temperature, often warmed by the hands of the person drinking it by clasping them around the glass before partaking. And of course, like any alcohol, it feels warm going down your throat.

Loved your reaction and welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole!! Based on your prior reactions, might I suggest Creep, Nothing Else Matters, Seven Nation Army, Valhalla Calling. Be prepared to be blown away at a whole different level than even Tennessee Whiskey. Enjoy the ride and welcome!!

Nice timing for checking out Voiceplay, as we are entering the Spooky Season. Voiceplay (and Geoff) are the Kings of Halloween.
These guys always respect the original songs while turning them into their own and sometimes (in my opinion) making them better than the original. They take their music very serious while having fun.
Their two newest songs (Creep and Drunken Sailor) show how diverse they really can be, I recommend both.

Welcome to VoicePlay! I’m subscribing to watch your journey. I’m sure you will enjoy it! They do a multitude of genres with wonderful arrangements by usually Geoff (bass) or Layne (beatboxer). Although Eli (tenor who began this song) just last month did the arrangement for “Creep”. They are independent of any record label and so have total artistic control. And this year especially they have been slaying it! Have FUN!

    Welcome to Voiceplay! 🙂
Believe it or not, they are the oldest group among the three you mentioned. They started with the name of "4:2:5" back in 1997, and changed their name to "Voiceplay" in 2012, if I remember correctly. They've had a number of changes in their lineup throughout the years, and you can find the story of all these changes here:th-cam.com/video/R6WxCwHnebI/w-d-xo.html or a brief introduction to current members and others that you'll find in their older videos here: th-cam.com/video/HJtwcUkjvn4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fZ7lDmTEQbE9m_8y
In this video you see, left to right:
    - Eli ("Elly") Jacobson, tenor/rock tenor, although his range is really wide and can go from bass to Rock God Tenor. He's usually also making the lighting in most of their videos and occasionally arranges songs.
    - J None, baritone who can sing tenor, left the group in 2021 because he was called by the Navy to sing with them, and is now 2 years and some into a 5 years serving time. He is still featured in their videos when on leave.
    - Geoff ("Jeff") Castellucci, bass with some 5 octave range, arranges almost half of their songs, and has his own channel where he does "low bass singer covers" multiplying himself into 4 or 5 characters, sometimes with different makeups and outfits, and sings all the parts harmonising with himself. Totally worth checking 🙂.
    - Earl Elkins Jr, high tenor, left the group in 2020 (I believe) for undisclosed personal reasons. Not yet replaced.
    - Layne Stein, beatboxer and baritone, arranges the other "almost half" of their songs. He co-owns Pattycake Productions, where most of Voiceplay's videos are filmed, with another former member o the group, Tony Wakim.
I'm really happy that you enjoyed this video of theirs, and I just subscribed in anticipation of more a cappella stuff. 🙂
    See you next time!

Maybe your device tried to autocorrect, but Earl is Earl Elkins Jr. Last I heard they thought he was working for Disney.

    • @DavideBaroni
      @DavideBaroni ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Wildecat10 Exactly that. 🙄
One of these days I'll deactivate that auto-correct 😁.
Didn't know he was working for Disney. As far as I know, the reasons he left the group are still undisclosed... Just "personal reasons". 🙂

I appreciate so much your playing all the way to the end. Some reactors don’t, and often they end up missing something special. One good example of that is their Halo video. The outdo is about as long as the song, but you learn some history of Voiceplay as well as their reason for doing that particular song. You’ll also get a sense of the connection that the group has, with each other and everyone else they work with. It’s one large family.
They unfortunately won’t have a new video coming out soon as they usually do. Covid has struck and put a kink in their recording schedule. But you have plenty to choose from. I’m subscribing in hopes of hearing you enjoy more Voiceplay.

This is one of their older ones... when they wanted Geoff to do the riff as a bass voice he said "nope, no can do" but then they made him try (friendly but firm 😅) and - behold: watch & listen what he does today! They do every piece justice and they make it their own as well. Loved your reaction - please do more! 🎉😊❤

Can't go wrong with anything from VoicePlay or anything from their bass Geoff Castellucci. They are the #TheatreKidsOfACapella. The young man (J None ) who sang second joined the Navy two years ago but when he is home on leave gets together with the guys. The guy with the full beard is Earl Elkins Jr. who was a founding member who left the group three years ago. Yes, watch till the end. VoicePlay and Home Free are my two favorite acapella groups.

My favorite thing is watching someone react to Voiceplay for the very first time. They are absolutely wonderful. The lineup has changed in the past three years, they are currently one man short. They use feature artists in most of their work now. They always have when the cover required a different voice, but now it is standard.
I am very old, well, pretty old, so a lot of the music they do I've never heard of. It doesn't matter. They have even made me love a couple of pieces that I absolutely loathed.
    Some of my favorites
We Don't Talk About Bruno - from Encanto
Hoist the Colours - from Pirates of the Caribbean 3
    Little Mermaid Medley
In the Air Tonight - Phil Collins
Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay

I'm so glad you have discovered VoicePlay. They have so much to offer. They don't stick any one genre and have amazing videos for all to see/hear. I've liked and subscribed with the hope you'll add VP and their bass singer, Geoff Castellucci to your regular line up. You will not be disappointed I'm sure. 😊

Having followed VoicePlay for some years now I am still surprised that many reactors still don't know them. Welcome to my favourite a capella group. The lineup has changed a bit over the years but their arrangements are always outstandings, their harmonies and their voices just beautiful. Layne's beatboxing is one of the best, and Geoff is, for many, exceptional. E;li's rund and riffs show off his rock tenor. The other two, Earl and J.None are no longer with the group though J does feature occasionally still. This is an older video, they now have over 1800 patrons and can do a lot more with their videos but the voices don't change. They are such a versatile group that you can see Disney, Rock and so many theatrical videos. Maybe try Can't Help Falling in Love, or The Dragonborn Comes, (from the game Skyrim) for two very different styles.

Welcome to the voiceplay family, this is a wild ride, and it gets better every single time. This was a great jumping on point. Maybe bridge over troubled water, can't help falling in love. Don't forget to check out Geoff Castellucci channel. ( the bass) one of his first was blackbird, the really shows his range. Enjoy the ride🤯🤯

Voiceplay is such a fun group. So very talented and the triat of the acapella groups 'Home Free, Pentatonix, Voiceplay'! They are the Theater kids of acapella. Check out their 'Oogie Boogie Song', 'My Mother Told Me', 'Valhalla Calling', or their newest one 'Drunken Sailor'! Geoff (jeff) will blow your mind with his low notes!

I’m so glad to see yet another reactor fall into the VoicePlay rabbit hole! Don’t worry though, it’s quite nice down here and you’ve got lots of company with all of us VoicePlay fans 😊

I love all of the “big 3” acapella groups but Voiceplay is by far my favorite. You will see for yourself if you keep reacting to them what sets them apart from others. It’s hard to recommend a song because everything they’ve done is amazing. I would just look at their covers and pick something you are familiar with and interested in hearing. You really can’t go wrong! ❤ There is another acapella group to react to when you get a chance - Voctave! They are different, larger but amazing!

I love that you have discovered VoicePlay. They are the 'Theatre Kids of Acapella' in that they put 100% into their videos, often dressing up accordingly. But, their voices are always amazing and you can't go wrong with anything with what they do. Currently my favorite is Valhalla Calling
    th-cam.com/video/mI8hPSSZSL4/w-d-xo.html
but Nothing Else Matters is a close second
    th-cam.com/video/f31q5KdfLnM/w-d-xo.html
Also, you might want to check out their bass Geoff Castellucci 's channel. Everything he does is special. He tends to multiply himself so that he can sing all the parts. Sixteen tons is a good place to start with him

    Enjoy!
