9:20 When she put her hand to her forehead at the end of that note. It was that moment that it hit her that she just delivered the performance of a lifetime.
That's what gets to me every time I watch this clip her hand going to her head, we've all done it at sometime in our life when we are going through tough times, so heartfelt.
The gentleman to the left of the stage, playing the slide guitar is Kasey's father Bill; Kasey before going solo sang with her father mother Diane and brother Nash in Dead Ringer Band, a family group between 1992 and 1998. I would like to recommend you react to two of Kasey's own songs; the first is her 2001 hit single Not Pretty Enough, and the second is her 2017 hit single Ain't No Little Girl.
Welcome to the world of Kasey Chambers. One of Australia's top Country/Blues artists. Youngest Country artist to ever be inducted into our Record Industries Hall of Fame. Over a dozen albums under her belt. Every now and them she strays out of her wheelhouse and slays another genre's song. Her ability to portray emotion has endeared her to a generation of fans.
Thank you for reviewing this! Some info about the artist and this song: Kasey Chambers is an Australian legend: the youngest person to be inducted into the Australian Music Hall of Fame, a dozen albums and has more than 30 ARIA Awards (the AU Grammy's). She is beloved but is ignored by radio and was shunned by Sony. She's been performing in her father's band since she was 12 years old (her brother is backing vocals and her dad is on the steel guitar on stage here). She had some pop hits in the 90s but her heart and soul is Country in her own style. She wanted to commemorate the 20th anniversary of this song because she loves Eminem, and she had the time to rearrange and compose this masterpiece during lockdown. She is showing so much emotion because she has lived this to a degree as well. She is now 48 years old and a mother of three. This recording is the first time it was ever performed live and was done at the end of the concert. They thought it went well, so they used the recording from the sound desk and asked their fans who were in attendance to provide any footage they had to composite this one together. While there has been no public approval from Em, she has been allowed to put this song up on Spotify without challenge.
Thank you for sharing that! The joy of seeing you 'get' this and the stunning power of this performance literally had me kinda giggling but with goosebumps, chills and tears just streaming down my face... Your face tells a beautiful story!
Enjoyed watching your emotional roller coaster ride. Welcome to Australia 🇦🇺. Your golden rule with any Aussie reactions is to only react to LIVE performances. Looking forward to future reactions 👏😄
I luv that you appreciate her voice in the same way I do. I also loved your confused facial expressions in the first minute or two 😄 It’s her dad on the slide guitar & I think it’s her brother on the guitar, also harmonising with her.
Nope….no personal reaction from Eminem as yet, even 2 years later. His record company gave Kasey permission to record and release this but it is really sad that we haven’t heard from Em himself. 😢
Our Kasey…..I have been following her and her family (Bill, Nash and Kasey in particular) for almost 40 years and they are all amazing. Kasey is an Aussie music icon who has been slogging her guts out since she was a child, firstly performing in the family band (Dead Ringer Band) then going on to a solo career which was initially bagged, despite great feedback on her first album “The Captain” and taking out the ARIA for best album and the following year taking out Best Female Artist for the title track of the album. Unfortunately the industry let Kasey down quite a bit as she was a folk/country (i.e. not pop) singer with a very unique voice and look and therefore deemed “too different”….hence the song “Not Pretty Enough”. She went on to become the youngest ever ARIA Hall of Fame recipient but still struggling career wise. Kasey is a woman to be admired…A woman who has never, ever given up on her music, who loves Eminem, and who spent the Covid lockdowns reinventing her favourite songs and this song is one of the results. I think that if Kasey had just recorded and released this it wouldn’t have had the impact that it has had from reactors over the last 2 years. Kasey is show stopping pretty much every single time she steps on that stage in her live performances! ❤❤ Thank you for your wonderful reaction to this…you completely get where Kasey is coming from and we can see that your appreciation is wholehearted. ❤
To continue… I am also a big Eminem fan, and have to say that this performance this is a testament to Marshall’s brilliant songwriting ability and to Kasey’s brilliant musical creativity and vocals…and much as I love Eminem’s original version….sorry Em, but the original has been kicked to the curb….this is Kasey’s song now! 😂❤
Apparently he was so impressed Told her she release a clip on line if she wanted to That's why you see it's snippets from all different concerts As she never intended to as didn't think be able to So they put out a call to her fans anyone with footage to upload to their site As need them to make a clip and that's supposedly how it came about Just more good Aussie talent We have so mant who turn covers into their own songs If interested look up John Farnham singing help with Melbourne symphony orchestra It's a cover of the Beatles and they where so impressed with it said he made it his own and how they wanted to do it We have many amazing talented artists here that no one hears much of tons of singer writers as well Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
@@Quinctili as said earlier its pieced together phone footage taken by her fans at a concert she did at Newcastles civic theatre. I can tell you as someone who was there that it was all done in one take.
@@Quinctili this from the original video of the concert: 832,390 views Premiered Jul 29, 2022 Kasey Chambers ’Lose Yourself’ Recorded and filmed at Civic Theatre, Newcastle Edited by Duncan Toombs @ The Filmery 15 June, 2022 The video for ‘Lose Yourself’ is thanks to Kasey’s fans in the audience on the final show of her recent Behind The Barricades tour. After much demand from fans to release the live performance and noting so many cameras in the air, Kasey asked fans to send through any footage they had filmed. The result is a perfect time capsule of how a great song, performed authentically from the heart can bring a room of strangers to connect in such a powerful shared emotion. Worked out enough for you?
The best cover of any song, anytime, anywhere. The genius of Eminem's lyrics taken to a whole different level of emotion.
I think Norah Jones doing Black hole Sun is right up there too… ❤
Well I for one agree, totally
DAMN she meant every word. I im with her too.
Every freakin word!
Anyone can see that Kasey is so connected to the song. Incredible voice and musical creativity!
As much as this is Eminem's life, Kasey is expressing the trials and tribulations throughout her persnoal life and career.
Authentic and powerful performance! Thank you Kasey you are golden!
Haunting.. Her voice definitely gives me chills every time.
Great reaction!!
Who knew that what this song needed was a slide guitar and power chords on a banjo??!
Adore your reaction ❤❤❤ your lipstick is fantastic too.
Yes!! I really need your lipstick!! Brand and color please? You're also gorgeous!
You're right. She owns this song now.

Ain’t No Little Girl!!! The Captain!!
Add 'Nullarbor Live' to the list, her ballad about being homesick (so bring tissues).
Every time I watch her performance, I get chills. This isn’t a song, it’s an experience. Thanks for reacting to it. ❤❤❤❤

I saw her sing this live at the Townsville Entertainment Centre the same year as this, is was just as good, it was amazing to see it live.

Thank you and thanks for watching!
Em's people allowed Kasey to have this up on Spotify.

Huge.
What Kasey does to that Banjo should be a crime!!
Great reaction vid. Thanks Em' for writing Kasey's song!
❤
Such is the difference between the original and her version, tha Kasey was given permission to upload this performance to Spotify in it's own right.
As usual, watching you slide into the music during a fantastic performance is a joy.

You'll never leave harlan alive patty loveless
I think you will really like Kasey chamber's song "ain't no little girl" I like the film clip or live performance of it.
I absolutely love that song!!
You said exactly what I have been feeling watching Kasey's performance over and over. Thank you for this reaction. You've earned a new sub!
Your reaction is amazing
Wonder if the people there were so entranced by the song that the band caught them by surprise too
Great reaction to a fantastic performance, gives me chills every time I hear it❤

MnM allowed her to upload it on Spotify
The slide gutairest is her father
👌🏻
Welcome back. Fantastic song!!!!❤❤❤❤
Eminem loved it and allowed her the rights to down load onto Spotify
Em does a fairly good job of covering Kasey's song!
Apparently he was so impressed
Told her she release a clip on line if she wanted to
That's why you see it's snippets from all different concerts
As she never intended to as didn't think be able to
So they put out a call to her fans anyone with footage to upload to their site
As need them to make a clip and that's supposedly how it came about
Just more good Aussie talent
We have so mant who turn covers into their own songs
If interested look up John Farnham singing help with Melbourne symphony orchestra
It's a cover of the Beatles and they where so impressed with it said he made it his own and how they wanted to do it
We have many amazing talented artists here that no one hears much of tons of singer writers as well
Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
It’s not snippets from different shows. It’s a composite stitched together from phone footage she asked for from her audience.
@perryschafer5996 that is also true, but note she is wearing different clothing.

@user-bi8wp6wy3l someone wrote its a visual montage of two concerts. You confirm its one take. She is wearing different clothes.
Work it out.

"I was playin in the beginning, but the mood all changed"
It’s like Janis Joplin and Pink Floyd had a baby.
Yes!!!
I felt sorry for the Banjo strings during the second half of the song!
So you liked it ?
Hi pls reaction song cover by danis rabani with title ibu. And put the translate in english.
The two versions of this song, to me, perfectly represent bipolar disorder.
Uh, I'm not an Eminem fan but this is awful... I'm glad someone likes it!
The song is called Lose Yourself. Loose yourself is not proper English. 😂
😂😂😂Thanks I just saw this!! I had to redo my title & thumbnail!😂😂
