- In this video we get the maiden flights on the RAW 420! Technically it’s the second flight in this video as the maiden flight was not visible on camera lol what a awesome heli! Tons of power and cyclic response! Looking forward to more flights on this thing!

Thank you Larry! I greatly appreciate it, I can definitely do that! Right now I have my timer set for five minutes for mixed flying. I haven’t sent LBC on the telemetry yet which I will do next so I can fly off of actual battery voltage. I would assume with the 6S 2400 that I’m running on a low head speed mild 3-D flight you could get seven minutes! I hope you had a great day as well! Stay safe and enjoy the family time!

Thanks for the video, I was hoping to maiden mine today but the weather you know.... I think i will try 50% normal, 60% stunt 1, and 70% stunt 2. Most of my flight will be in stunt 1 honestly. Nice flight and thanks again.
Thank you! Yes the weather always sucks and delays your flying lol it will be raining every day for the next eight days by me so no flying for a week. I really want to get more flights in on this thing but it will have to wait lol yeah that throttle percentages will be perfect for your head speed desire.
for MSH putting 21 of main gear and 1 for poll count will give correct ratio for rpm till the update, from Brain dev if forums.
That worked for you ? how did it feel in the air ?
@@MP422ownz Don't have one, saw it in helifreak forum doing research. BrainDev is a developer at MSH so I would take his word for it.
It looks great and doing throttle curves is the way I did it in the 90s lol
It never fails! I have done flat throttle curves for many many years LOL and before that it was a V curve

What feedback on the direct drive difference…I hardly see the trend going up to 700ds…The required flat design on a 700 would be so wide….
Really cool! Wish I could be flying mine too. I’m still struggling getting mine setup made the huge mistake buying MAXX ASG FBL can not get it do anything.
Unfortunately I’ve never messed with a MAXX ASG FBL, so I have no way to help. It sucks that you are struggling! I really love the iKon/Brain FBL.

Hello, yes. The iKon update has come out to allow the use of governor.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Thanks for the info, i finally finished it, but i face only one last issue, what gain to use with the iKon gov ? At 50% the motor speed is jumpy all over the place, it's only stable at around 15%, what about yours ? Thanks
@@Vidoke69 my governor gain is 15% as well. That’s the smoother I could get with the governor on.

Nice job as usual Jeff! I have 6 flights on mine and still getting it dialed. Since iKon gov is unavailable I used the HW store gov mode. I calculated the max headspeed at 4333! Running 55/60/70% right now. I am having a little bit of blowout on collective pumps and I'm not sure how to tune that out with the iKon. Gyro gain adjustments didn't fix it.. Any tips?
Thank you! It is a fantastic flying helicopter! What head speed are you getting blowout at? Tail blowout? Any advanced menus of the iKon There is a tail pitch precompensation menu. Increase your tail pitch precompensation until blowout goes away on whatever flight mode selection it’s happening on. Do you have your tail mechanically set properly? 2 to 4° of positive pitch at center stick? That will make a big difference on tail blowout upon pitch pumps.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 all three headspeeds I am getting the blowout.. it’s minor but it’s there. Thanks for that I’ve never got into the advanced iKon menus but I will play around with it!
There is a whole lot mower in the advanced menu! It is a whole different world of tuning LOL there is so much stuff you can do in there!
I would definitely make sure that you have a accurate head speed if you do i wound lower your head speed. It states in the manual that it's no recommend to run head speed above 3200 rpm. Also if you're running above 3,000 rpm you should run a 21t tail pulley part # h17636-s
@@LL-gv8hd like i said above my idle up 2 is 70% which gives me 3000rpm. I fly mostly in idle up 1 which is 2600 rpm and 5 min flights my packs are above 30% SOC
Im confused do you want to run the hobbywing gov or the ikon gov because if your using the hobbywing gov why would a update matter with the ikon ,i set my hobbywing gov to the manual at 5 % higher at 85 percent they say 80 % gives a 3200 head speed mine at 85% is only reaching 2500 head speed is there a issue with the hobbywing gov mine wont let my head speed increase i have a hobbywing 80 we had to put the throttle curve at like 95 in the hobbywing to get it to fly faster , the manual says 80% you should get 3200 i was getting 2500
you want to use the iKon governor. Hobbywing governor cannot declare a 42 pole motor or direct drive. That is why your head speed is not coming up past 2500. When I first built mine I ran no governor because the iKon update was not available yet. Just a flat 85% throttle curve and that was 3200 RPM. I have since updated and the iKon is running 3200 RPM.
