Hhhmm I'm not big on old school cartoons like you .I'm more of a comic book person still no expert..glad you put that out there I'm trying to learn more about classic animation
I love how the play is a trainwreck, like when they fell off the sled and she apologized to the audience and when they were fudging their way through lines they forgot. Betty Boop always seemed more timeless in it's comedy than a lot of cartoon shorts from this time.
Very late Betty Boop cartoons (mainly from '38 and '39) had a really beautiful style of animation, halfway between the rubber hose style Fleischer had clung so dearly to through the thirties and the later style of the 1940s (best exemplified by Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies; not sure what it's called exactly). I really love it.
@@charlenedupont-z6aBy 1938 & 1939 Betty Boop was Given More Realistic Features . Betty's Head was No Longer Too Big for Her Body . Betty was given Shoulder Length Hair . In Her Later Cartoons Betty's Side View Her Nose , Mouth & Chin Have Realistic Features. In Her Front View Betty Boop Still has Her Familiar Big Cute Eyes & Button Nose . 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
When the Fleischer studio moved to Miami that year, Mae chose not to join them. Margie Hines assumed Betty's voice until her final cartoon was released in 1939.
True, think that was the point though since if they did the cartoons this way it doesn't mess up the cannon for betty and with future episodes like this could say 'it's okay it is a play'.
I don't understand the casting here since they had already established Freddie as Betty's Love Interest. While there were problems with his character design, his design was better than the one for this Mountie Character, and a better choice. But a good choice was not made here.
I'm Not a Fan of Fearless Fred , He's Too Full of Himself . Even though the Mountie is Shorter than Betty Boop , He isn't trying to be Too Macho. His Job was to Arrest the Villian who Kidnapped Betty. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍💘💘💘💘💘💘💘
He Looks Like the Same Villain from the Betty Boop Cartoon She Wronged Him Right . Both Villains Turned into a Rat for a Brief Moment . 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love Betty Boop. Thanks!
Betty boop is my new favorite show! 🤩 Betty is very cute 🥰
I wonder if the ranger was meant to be a balance of Fearless fred and Bimbo
He is a Canadian Royal Mounted Police or Mountie for short.

Love Betty Boop's Ad Libs 😍😍😍
Interesting - Never saw a cartoon with French cut-aways like that!
Now you have!
I noticed that the backgrounds would cut to translations. Was that done by the Fleischer's themselves or in France?
Were done in France
Betty Boop has Olive Oyl's voice
Mae Questel!
Actually olive oyl has Betty boop's voice ❣️

@@patrickmcgrath5411 Since we're dropping names, that's Jack Mercer, the voice of Popeye who is the voice of the Villain.
@@fromthesidelines Both Margie Hines & Mae Questel provided the voice of Betty Boop & Olive Oyl.

It’s like an animated version of the Play That Goes Wrong

I used to have a dog like Bettys ..he was only good for One thing...... eating 😂
feels like a betty boop short directed by a popeye cartoon director especially with the movement
Che splendore !!! 💞🚀💖
I love Betty..id buy her a mink coat in a second..even dusenberg..😂
At the other part there’s boo boo ha ha ha that’s so funny
🎧✨✨✨🌑🦊🖤🤣🤣🤣 Classic 🩷🫒🪖

When hays code explain this how can you keep getting away with this huh?
I'm guessing the motif of a play made it more palatable than if we were just watching her every day life.
Luffy Chasing After A Theif and falls off.

Does the villain of this cartoon resembles Waluigi?
