Please give us the part of the country you are. Glad Cogg Hill sent me here. Good information. Will also thumbs up each video. Thanks for sharing. Becky from Kansas City
I’m glad it helped. I’ve done this method three times and it’s worked just fine each time. I hope it works for you as well. Thank you and best of luck.
Great resolution to the problem. Peaches sent me over. Yesterday was the first day mine came out of the nesting box. Last night we had snowfall. The bunnies were in and out of the box. They did well. Will be putting the nesting box on its side so there will be less of a chance for them to be stuck outside the box.
Glad It helped you out. I loss quite a bit of sleep worrying about them when I kept seeing them out. Learned it last year from another channel, so I can't take all the credit.
I don’t really have an age that I let them go in and out on their own. Once I see them getting out, I generally wait until I see them getting out in general and then turn the box over so there’s no lip to get over and then I just leave it that way until they no longer need it.
Just found your video, mine are 2 wks old today and I found 4 out of the box this morning. My boxes are wire bottom that I placed cardboard on. You think if I try this just the wire is on or should I try to get cardboard to stay in place. They are in a rabbit shed I built so they don’t get any wind. Thanks
If there is no wind getting to them then I don’t think you’d have to keep the cardboard. If you needed to keep the cardboard in place some small zip ties would probably do well with the excess snipped off. Turning it on the side is mostly a way allow them access back to the nest without having to get back over the front lip of the box. I hope this response helps answer your question. Thanks for watching
Oh man that stinks, my guess is they may be getting out and not able to get back in. I would recommend turning it on its side once they’re getting out on their own and I’d suspect it would greatly help
Very clever fix! Those babies are just the sweetest things ever!
Brilliant… so simple

Thank you so much! I was about to go and build something else... now I can just go do this! You are awesome, thank you!!

Jason sent me! My rabbits do this a lot too!
Glad you came by and checked us out. We appreciate you taking the time. What kind of rabbits are you raising?
Rocky Creek Homestead I have California, New Zealand whites, And Rex.
Peaches at Coghill Farm sent me over. 😄
Glad you came by. We hope you enjoyed the content. Peaches is the boss, so its good thing you listened!
You could also take the front off the nest box.
Do you know what breed mummy is? We have the same breed from a rescue but I would love to know what she is
We purchased from a farm store and they were labeled as Rex mix. I’m not sure what the mix part is but they do resemble a Rex. I hope that helps.
How old are these baby bunnies when you start letting them go in and out of the nest box on their own?

I keep having bunnies die when they get out of the box. If I turn it will it help them live?

They are way over due to flip the box !!!!!
🤷🏻♂️ it was my first batch ever and they all did okay
