I've actually ran a couple of these tires on my MK7.5 GTI and they all performed very well for their intended use. I ran the Ironman tires as my daily tires on my old F1R wheels years ago and they were the best bang for the buck tire if you're looking for something that has good wet & dry traction, as well as, smooth driving with zero road noise. The DWS 06 performed just as good as the ironman tires, but wouldn't be my first pick for AutoX since the car understeers a lot from lack of grip. The RT615k+ tires were a great budget friendly 200tw tire that got me into AutoX. About the same price range to the Kumho Ecsta V30 tires. Excellent dry grip, but takes a while for them to warm up, especially on the rear. On the other hand, can last you a solid 2-3 years of AutoX if these are a dedicated for AutoX/Track use only. Nowadays, I run the Bridgestone RE98AS as my daily and RE71RS as my AutoX set. Solid informative video btw👌
12:17 I was going back and forth between the Pilot Sport 4s and the Pilot Sport 5. I ended up getting the Pilot Sport 5 and love them. The sidewalls look amazing.
Planning to get some Yokohama Advan Apex V601’s for my 08 Civic Si. Plan to use them during the summer for daily driving and touge/autocross. Heard great things about them for the price
Oh man I life in germany and I've been selling tires for 3 years and i never heard of those brands except ofc Falken Conti and Michelin And even the Budget tires are hella expensive
You really should talk also about tire brand homologation. I didn't know a lot and bought 255/35 Continental SportContact6, 2 for *(BMW) and 2 for R01(AUDI) and those tires a dramatically different and I was kinda upset, since I got aggressive wheels (Aodhan AFF7, 19x9.5+35) and tires for BMW are way wider and poke a little bit. So keep in mind
My truck gets the most miles and some off roading. So I run all terrain on truck and all season Kelly's on the car. The jeeps are mostly off road so get off road tires. My motorcycle gets the mutant 70/30 tires with good water handling capabilities. The wife gets cruiser tires for her sportster. She don't have to drive down dirt toads for work. My motorcycle goes through the most tires a set a year.
Subscribed!!! Very professional and informative!!! Instead of me trying to explain to my gf..i sent this video!!!😂 question im trying to save trying to stay around 1500??? Any my gf has a 2018 Mercedes amg gle 43...staggered 285/40 22front and 325/35 22 rear...a buddy says 1750 for nittos wasnt specific...any suggestions anyone HELP oh daily driver no 100mph at all..i seldom drivevit bc i cant afford to drive it.
Yes. I needed this info. What do you recommend for rain and sun Hawaii weather? I have an 2023 supra and it's a daily. I think I'm about halfway through the lifespan of the SuperSports that it came with OEM. As soon as the rears go, I'm gonna swap them out for a squared setup
I have continental extreme contact sports 2s on my 997.1 911 and love them however I don’t love how rolled the sidewall looks on the rears. 295/30 19s. 11 inch rim. I want more of a square sidewall. The next size I could go to would be 285/3519s. Just not sure if it would fix my problem? It’s on a stocks suspension. Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks for the video, I found it very informative. Looking for suggestions for my situation: 1995 corvette convertible, currently using Goodyear GS-C ( F 255/45 R17 R 285/40 R17). These tires are now entering their 13 year and its tme for a replacement. Goodyear doesn't make the GS-C anymore and their current F1 doesn't have the size, only starting at R18s. Since my car is 29 years old I only drive it on weekends, mostly sunday morning highway crusing, In total I probably will put only 1000 kilometers on the car during the summer months, so with very little mileage I do not really need a tire for high use. Currently looking at continental Contact sport. Any suggestions are appreciated.
*You asked yourself a question "I wonder why the Extreme Contact DWS06 PLUS is so sticky". That's because it's the better ALL AROUND version of the Extreme Contact Sport, hence the PLUS*
i cant describe how perfectly timed this video is for me
Bro facts lol.
Sameeee
Same here man
Finally- a video with visuals, that actually makes sense. I understood everything immediately with your explanation. Thanks
Perfect Timing, I just bought my first & new car

I've had the same issue deciding between the 4s or 5, how are you liking them after a few months? Is there noticeable road noise?
@@leom537 So far I'm very happy with them. They don't seem to have much road noise.

After 30 years of cheaping out, I found Michelin are the best value.
Video idea: so you want affordable housing

Those are fantastic tires as well and would have been #4 in that price category. That was a tough one to make a decision on! - Sam
