    Very ingenious of you to use the half finished tool to accurately bend the die faces!

    Nice job. We see a lot of tube bender builds, but not enough die builds. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week :)

    Nice bend. That’s a pretty darn tight bend too I don’t think you used any lube either.

      When you see all that goes into a commercial die they aren't really that bad for 200 bucks 1 they use a large chunk of material which a solid piece in the size dies are made from gets pricey quick dies start out in the 8-10 inch range then they either have to be made from a much stronger grade of steel then regular cold rolled to hold up to repeated use or they have to be heat treated since regular 1018 would wear out pretty quick then the machine time that goes into them the only way they can do all that for 200 bucks is buying large quantities of steel and making large quantities on cnc cause I know for sure if someone asked me to make them one there's no way I could make one that cheap 10 inch piece of cheap cold rolled 1018 costs 136 bucks an inch so if you could have enough material for what you have to machine to get it flat etc with 2 inch thick would be 272 just for the material without machining heat treating and shipping if you need 3" for 1 1 /2-2 " tube that's 408 bucks just in material nothing else lol I used to think they were pretty expensive until I priced out to machine my own

    was that a flywheel and the cog from starter motor? perhaps you could use another flywheel on same shaft as cog and use another small cog connected to a battery drill for a powered version ?
    nice job very effective also would it be worth welding the gaps or too hard to get it smooth?

    Hello great work sir.... Can you please share gear teeth both pinion and flywheel... And flywheel size too..

    • @motorschuppen
      @motorschuppen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don't have the exact measures - used a starter and a flywheel from scrap therefor - the gear ratio is approx. 1/10

    You could change the way the support block fits onto the plate so you can adjust the size of pipes as it looks like it is flexing. I have some ideas if you want to know them just message here.

    • @motorschuppen
      @motorschuppen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah its flexing to much, my idea was to support it on the front end of the rollerblock to.

    How thick was the plate that you used to make the center and outer parts of the die?
