(Picture and sound on this episode)
This episode has few speckles on the picture and the sound has the odd crackle, this was caused by it raining when i recorded it of satellite,
(satellite's were not that good in the early 90's if it was very heavy rain, you could some times lose the picture all together.)

This very first edition of Art Attack is today 25 years old.

I just love the Art Attack set with the giant notepad, paints, and pens, etc.
The audio quality of this video brings back so many memories of taping things off the telly as a child, and how the tape would crackle with age. Simple times, they're nice to think back on. 💛
Don't feel bad about the quality. I had the same picture problem watching the Australian Broadcasting Corporation programs of the 1990s, so that alone brings back memories of watching the ABC. The sound quality wasn't as bad though, unless there was a storm, in which the picture and sound would crackle for a second whenever there was a strike of lightning.
omygod, this nostalgia is killing me. I don't have the chance to watch this very first ever episode of art attack cuz I'm 1994 but I usually love this show when I was a kid! There is no day that I would miss any of its episodes and always fascinated by how Neil Buchanan does magnificent arts and stuffs! I've tried my very toddler-like best tho of some of the easiest arts there and proudly present it to my mom. Sadly, art attack is not anymore the same without Neil. It's been gone on Disney for a while and one day I saw a commercial that it goes back so I waited and disappointed it's not Neil anymore. It's just not the same. I still watched and got disappointed more when the guy couldn't even do it himself. The scene would cut the guy and here comes the video of hands doing it that I don't even know if it's the guy's hand. Thank you for uploading this on youtube. I'm planning to watch every episodes you upload here from now :)
PS: Disney should bring back its old disney 😭

Neil Buchanan was 28/29 - same age as I am now - when he started doing this show!! Unbelievable!
This is even better than the newer ones.
Hope Disney don't wipe every single edition from the TVS era of Art Attack - like what they have done with Motormouth.
Classictv90s Disney should be sued for doing this. Did they really wipe Motormouth?
Disney did't wipe Motormouth or any other shows, they were shoved in a skip when TVS went out of business

I was 2 aswell. Makes no difference when I've seen every episode and rerun every day in my childhood.
Art Attack is going to turn 30 from next June. In June 2020 It will be 30 years since the first episode of art attack broadcasted.

This was one of my favourite shows as a child, despite not having any flair for art and never trying out any of the work myself. I remember coming home from secondary school to get myself sat down in front of the TV for shows like this, sometimes before I'd bothered taking my uniform off. Much as with Hartbeat, it was an engaging format with a really good presenter.
I remember this show. I watched it it in the late 1990s and the early 2000s with Neil. I loved it! :)

I recall miniature 'shows' during an episode. Particularly I remember this detective or criminal who'd run around and say 'tee hee hee'. Does anyone remember this and if so.... What's it called? I really want to refresh my memory and watch it!!
kayler28 The show you're thinking of is not Art Attack, though it did feature and was produced by Neil Buchanan. The character was called Tricky Dicky and he was on Zzzap.
