I LOVE that game. One of my most favorite games on the sega Genesis. I started to play this game on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on PS3. Loved every bit of it.
+Epic Ninja SHiro Actually, not completely. This game comes from a time, when sadly, all Zelda fans were really hellbent on whining about every single Zelda-like game until nobody even wanted to bring it up, hence why they fell into obscurity. Games like Crystalis, The Guardian Legend, Secret of Mana or Brave Fencer Musashi (though the last two got some recognition because Square made 'em), and many more fell victim to that. Nowdays it's not so severe, but every time a good Zelda-like game emerges, fanboys follow to complain.
Well, can't say there weren't any cases when kids around the neighbourhood would rant about all those "shitty obvious Zelda-ripoffs that only losers play" (and of course, gullible kids fell for such taunting and stopped playing what "losers play"), but the problem is, the whining was more omnipresent than that. For example, if a vg magazine were to praise any such game, a flood of angry letter would follow about "how can they praise such an obvious Zelda-ripoff" especially if said "ripoff" got a better score. Just to clarify, I do not have anything against Zelda, I really like those games as well, but this type of fanboy behaviour is something I really grew to detest since I loved all those other games just as much (or sometimes even more, I personally find Okami superior to all Zeldas).
Impressive. I remember how difficult it is to recieve no damage with some of these bosses. I also like how you're not using any of the tricks which make it easier to defeat them but actually fight them the normal way.
I’m in between playing this game, Landstalker & Crusader Of Centy! Never had the chance to play them before now. I’m about half way through Landstalker, a qtr way through Crusader and at the beginning of Beyond Oasis I’m loving these Action RPGs
Damn! You made these boss fights look simple n easy. I’m only on the first one and I’m kind of having trouble, especially now that I lost my sword and just have my dagger
5:27 ...Nicely done, but next time, remember the WOW rule of successfully fighting dragons: attack the sides, NEVER the head or tail, unless you can actually tank everything it throws at you. This guy does NOT look like a tank.
+Shadowserg I love those as well, Okami being my absolute fav. But as far as retro, 8-bit games go, The Guardian Legend was the absolute best, combining the Zelda-like gameplay with a Metroid-like setting and some shmup parts every now and then. Sadly, it was one of those games that got whined into obscurity by the more butthurt Zelda fanboys. It does steadily get more recognition now thanks to the internet.
I mean, I shouldn't be surprised, but anytime I'm trying a new game for some reason you come up with a new video on said game the day after. My guess this time is that you've been playing 'zelda clones' lately due to all the media buzz on botw and realized you didn't have a video for this gem of a game. you probably even check the same forums/sites and hence why it usually happens. anecdote aside, great playthrough as always, this is one of the better Zelda clones that never got the deserved attention it deserved (kind of like Alundra and other console Arpgs of the era such as landstalker and brain Lord).
niespeludo Why do you refer to this a zelda clone? The combat and weapon system are way more involved. And zelda did not have summons unless you count bees lol.
If you wanted a more straight up comparison then I'd mention Terranigma, but all the games from Ancient (the developer of Landstalker, Beyond Oasis and Alundra) even admit a tremendous amount of influence. They had many attempts of outzelda-ing Zelda, and I like all their games for different reasons. Landstalker had beautiful graphics in an Isometric setting, puzzles, dungeons and art were incredible; boss fights not so much. Beyond Oasis was much more on the action side, and coupling that with the immense attention to detail reflected in their sprite art and animation with a Soundtrack by none other than the composer of Streets of Rage 2 is ought to be excellent. Alundra in the other hand is the best 2D Zelda game that's not Zelda (just like Okami is the best 3D Zelda that's not Zelda). Landstalker is more puzzle-y, Beyond Oasis is more Action-y and Alundra is a match made in heaven with a darker storyline than any of the other games mentioned.
Some ways this feels like a Golden Axe game, and a successor to Golden Axe Warrior. I kinda wish they made it part of the same series. Set it in Napoleonic times, with a more Western protagonist, use some of the villains from Golden Axe, and make the original characters the spirits.

Shadowserg you did take some damage
If you really want "Zelda with RPG elements", try getting into the Ys franchise. That's basically what it is.
@@asmodeus58XX zelda 2 is more like a action platformer with rpg elements
Final boss nightmare fuel😮
Streets of Rage meets Illusion of Gaia, underrated gem with great design!
10:10 the Genie punching that monster made me laugh so hard, its like Cut it out! XD
That's because his name is Efreet the fire spirit who burns anything unclean.
I LOVE that game. One of my most favorite games on the sega Genesis. I started to play this game on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on PS3. Loved every bit of it.
That's an amazing-looking game! I've never heard of it before. Great upload! Thanks, and I really enjoyed watching this.
I feel it falls under a category of "underappreciated due to being lesser known" games.

I know at least in my case, in my area, this game wasn't really brought up that much either positively or negatively.

I totally agree with you.

Jeez, that music is terrifying.
Love this game I still have it in the collection sega mega drive games on my switch always play it to fufill my nostalgia
Well well I remember watching this back when I was almost 14 in 7 months ago .
Yuzo Koshiro's small dev team at Ancient made games like this and Actraiser 2.
Impressive. I remember how difficult it is to recieve no damage with some of these bosses. I also like how you're not using any of the tricks which make it easier to defeat them but actually fight them the normal way.

Flare Djinn: "Oh would you SHUT UP you little rat!"

SophiaXiaoyu I
*EFREET:* SHUT UP, YOU FREAKING GREMLIN!
It 's a perfect game!
I played this on sega channel decades ago and have been looking for it ever since...
I love Beyond Oasis !!!! Wish Sega got more games with Prince Ali
There's a second one, legend of oasis, for saturn . Easy to find and emulate.
I finished this game now, nice game, but it has some puzzles parts very hard to find the solution, needs to pay attention in every detail
This game needs a remastered
The boss at 6:50 there is an easier way to beat him. Use the atomic bow and allow the explosions to damage him
Works espcially well in corners....
Now we know where Pokemon got the idea for Geodude from.
Other way around
And here I thought Rock-Types resisted Fire.
¿Dark Water Pirates? 1:40
Y'alll the sprites are amazing for an old game!
Thanks, i played it like 12 years ago

you deserve more suscribers dude!
Damn! You made these boss fights look simple n easy. I’m only on the first one and I’m kind of having trouble, especially now that I lost my sword and just have my dagger
I just can't get over this guy and all his kicking. I mean, I doubt if I'd be kicking when I'm holding a sword...
It's really a fast way to kill things lmao
3:35 is that a Dunkleosteus?
Yes lols XD
Good looking game, but wow that final boss looked like a piece of cake
And is
I've played legend of oasis on the saturn. Is this a prequel?
Obviously.
Legend of Oasis is actually the prequel
5:27 ...Nicely done, but next time, remember the WOW rule of successfully fighting dragons: attack the sides, NEVER the head or tail, unless you can actually tank everything it throws at you. This guy does NOT look like a tank.
Those rock monsters look like prototype Geodudes, dood!
Dawn of Operation Panties Dood!!
Super cool
You do Legend of Oasis yet?
that final boss really creeped me out as a kid
If you're going for Zelda-like games right now, you should totally play The Guardian Legend ^^
Thanks, didn't know about it! I absolutely love those kind of games (Zelda-like).
+Shadowserg
I love those as well, Okami being my absolute fav.

MidBoss666 lol why it was on a nintendo system??
Loved that game as a kid.
Kudos to you, I can finish that game without dying but not without taking damage from the bosses.
I wonder what your end-game ranking was
That is the most Chad walk cycle ever lol.
That red dragon gives me love ❤❤❤❤🐉🐉🐉🐉
just me or the sound of jumping and landing are very similar to the ones used on street of rages 1 ? Great game by the way, this is not know gem
Yes it is, by the same dev "Ancient" and same music composer "Yuzo Koshiro".
who else thought the dragon has the face of Andross?
Vyond : ISIS ( PC ) All Bosses ( No F*ck-ups )

01:04 Hornyskull
02:12 Missile Monster
03:32 Giant Jihad
04:36 Redtube Dragon
05:27 Missile Monster 2

niespeludo You just gave me a bunch of games i need to emulate. Yes terraenigma was a masterpiece.
darkdragon3571 glad to share the knowledge, they're all excellent games! my favorite being Alundra (Okami if we count it as well)
Huh? Ancient didn't make Landstalker or Alundra, those were by Climax Entertainment and Matrix Software respectively.
I would get a kick out of doing a kicking combo in this game.
what is the emulator running game?
is it me? or did all of the bosses in this game kicked my ass except for the final 2 bosses? x.x
Are there some Zelda references or it's just me?
I mean, "crab nabbler"? I'd say more "Gohma".
Beyind oasis ?? I had this back in theday's on sega megadrive , and it was called "the story of thor", the game is really amesing tho😁
The first boss must be a relative of Gohma
Farthest I've made it was after the Turtle boss.
The Dragon had t-rex face
lifehack on 7 boss with a crossbow not detected
ghostbusters sega genesis
Que gráficos.
Shadowserg if you dragon mania legends all bosses iPad
Oh yeah XD

I regret not buying this game. The title look bland and boring on Wii Shop so yeah.
faust
Wackest most easiest boss battles ever. Loved the game and everything but man the bosses were absolute pukey.
This game is the best looking adventure game of 16 bit era
