    who doesn’t love ice cream especially during the long hot summer months or for family gatherings or holiday celebrations?
    If you asked the 39th U.S. president what was his favorite flavor ice cream, he would probably still say at nearly a 100 years old now, Peanut Butter Ice Cream. Thank you Mr. President for bringing this traditional family flavored choice of dessert to the world. We wish you many more Peanut Butter Ice Cream day’s ahead.
    Yes, this is President Jimmy Carter’s Country…Plains, Georgia. He grew up here as a young peanut farmer. We stopped at an ice cream parlor in this small rural South Georgia town he and his wife would often times make Sunday visits to. Yes, and you said it right…to grab a cone or a scoop of Peanut Butter Ice Cream at this Famous Plains Ice Cream Parlor.
    Of course Arsie’s Kitchen wanted to know what was so special in this ice cream that the president probably still love’s today.
    So we asked ….
    But we got the answer expected. “It’’s a secret”…
    Got it but no surprise to us huh!
    But after tasting this delicious treat, I can only say this ice cream was very delicious or as we say in the Philippines…masarap!
    So, Arsie’s kitchen became an ice cream maker in this week’s segment, and after scoring on a few similar tasting recipes, we think we have a Homemade, Delicious Peanut Butter Ice Cream Recipe that even a President would love also. But you have to try it too.
    What we wanted was a recipe that would be easy to make and also fun. Being a mom, I know how easy it is for kids to get bored when out of school during the summer. We challenged ourselves to make this very Easy and Simple. This ice cream recipe can be churned or freezer made without churning. Both ways yield super excellent results.
    Tips
    When using your ice cream maker, please refer to your manufacturer’s instructions
    For lower fat content, substitute 1% milk for whole milk; whole milk for half and half and evaporated skim milk for whipping cream. In both ice cream products used in this segment, we increased the heavy whipping cream and whole milk. Higher-fat dairy products such as whipping cream create a smooth, rich and creamy flavor while Lower-fat products create a lighter dessert with a different texture.
    Scald milk until bubbles form around edge. Remove from heat. Add ingredients as depicted and included in the video.
    Home Freezer Method
    Spoon ice cream into air tight container; allow 1/2 inch for expansion. Place in home freezer for several hours.
    Ice (4, 5, 6 quart models) about 15 to 20 pounds of crushed, cracked or chipped ice is used for each batch of ice cream
    Prep time: 20 minutes
    Cook time: 10 minutes
    Ice cream freeze time is usually around 40 minutes to 1 hour
    Yield: 4 to 5 Quarts
