It would’ve made more sense to use the actual 8th pokemon, or maybe do something special with zaican since he’s the 888th pokemon. Like I said the message was not meant to be hateful towards you, niantic can never just do anything special for the player.

Update to date, all Pokemon appear in Elite raid & Every elite raid their own errors.
Hoopa Unbound, Kanto Legendary Birds spawning in the wild after elite raid completed but fade away after tapping on it.
Regidrago, catch circle error. Rare spawn didn't appear despite being mentioned earlier.
Regieleki, no 24 hour egg countdown timer. Server issue on 11 am EST.
Enamorus, no elite raid at 6 p.m. their own local time. This elite raid fell on Wednesday which is inconvenient to certain players.
Mega Rayquaza, no 24 hours egg raid countdown. Earlier time zones countries had no elite raid countdown until 10.00 a.m. local time. Earlier times zone countries had the very least amounts of elite raid for every time slot. ( 12p.m, 1p.m., 5p.m. & 6p.m.)

During the elite raids i was in a giant crowd in manhattan and someone next to me got the hundo which was so cool to see!!! Also got a shiny meltan from the timed research

Had time to drive to a known Elite Raid gym. Got there just before 12pm. Was so annoyed to see the gym saying that the egg was hatching at 1pm, with the only other elite gym within 10 miles not hatching until 4pm. I had to get back to finish a job so couldn't wait 😢

Actually in this instance I did, which is how I knew there were no others for miles. First time I'd actually used it as living in a rural area, there isn't exactly a thriving community.

Meltan box cooldown is 24 hours, just opened my 2nd one this event and the first one was a lvl 1 shiny! ^^

the whisper in the woods quest is horrible. you need to platinum johto for the very first quest
thats normal for a masterwork research (masterwork in kanto tour required you to have a platinum johto badge)
I was lucky enough to get an almost perfect shiny Meltan from the quest & a shiny from the box today.

I was going somewhere and I decided to open up pokemon and then I saw near a poke stop was a wild charizard and I was able to catch it
Was in hospital and I started playing GO but my local park got sinkhole and hurt my playing Go for bit.
So I been down ALL. 😢 But I wish all you players.
So far from this event I've gotten a shiny party hat Nidorino and that's it shiny wise but I did buy the shiny Celebi masterwork special research ticket and have started it but I'm not really doing alot during this event I've already completed the shiny Charmander family in a previous anniversary event I've already completed the shiny Meltan family and my shiny Melmetal is 1 of my 50 maxed pokemon I think I haven't really paid much attention to that kind of stuff in pokemon go probably should though I already have shiny Wurmple with a party hat from a different event that it was in I've already completed the Grimer family with the party hat and I think I've completed the Squirtle family with the party hat not all of these are the shiny families but I'm ok with it so I'm not really doing much during this event I'm waiting for Global Go Fest and the week leading up to it

meltan box will always be around. transfer pokemon to pokemon home and get a free box that spawns it
Doesn’t Meltan spawn like it was on an incense? It’s not like it will change your wild spawns to Meltan so there’s no reason to use special rend.
