The soul edge intro and song are special because we experienced them as kids, at a time when our hearts were pure, open, and easily touched. As adults we dont feel and believe as easily as we once did as kids because the world has closed off our hearts to some extent with the various life experiences and lessons we've been through, so the feeling we get from this intro is special because we cannot be genuinely impressed as easily as adults, so its kinda like the people who created this did something very nice for us by putting their heart and souls into this at a time when the artform of videogames wasnt even taken seriously by society, the feeling we get from this intro is rare to come by and im very thankful for it, big thanks to everyone involved in creating this art!

I just showed this to my kid and was talking to them about it. I think Tekken 2 was the best up to this point in the way that it showed you all of the characters and their personalities while weaving it into what felt like a coherent world.
Soul Blade built on that but the music and structure (switching back and forth between the various characters instead of one scene each) and the editing take it to another level.

By far one of the best fighting game series since its inception in my opinion. I remember spending countless hours playing Soul Blade (same game, different name over here for 'reasons' lol) with a mate where we banned actually blocking and had to block by deflecting the attack.
Great times. Loved every iteration since, though none have quite captured that.

I remember hearing this the first time I booted up SoulBlade on the PS1, got hooked, and been a fan of the series as a whole ever since. no intro since has quite captured the epicness of this one, but by Hephaestus, do I love them all anyways. i always thought the "to the edge of soul" was "two ancient swords" from the speed, glad I finally found the lyrics.

All Soul games have fantastic OSTs, but imo nothing has quite matched the ENERGY of the original Soul Blade game. It’s so… high energy and adventuresome, more than any other game in the series the music alone makes you feel like you’re on this epic journey across the world in history.
