Hey Koby! Love the video, this board looks sweet. Would you recommend this style/ dims for a beginner-intermediate surfer as my first hand shaped board?
EPS board never has a perfect finish, it has millions of tyne holes that need to be sealed. I use Spackle paste, it has almost no weight, especially with the small amount we use. the purpose is that the EPS blank will not absorb the epoxy and keep the weight down. this is the professional way of building EPS boards. In the next video, I will do a very cool fabric inlay but before I will show the blank sealed and I hope it will help.
Hi James, I have built this blank myself with hot wire, I used Paulownia wood sheets 6mm thick, glued 2 sheets together so this stringer is super strong and extremely light! 230gr so I am happy with the results. because it is 12mm wide it also looks great - right?
I really enjoy your videos. I am watching a lot of videos to learn about making boards from beginning to end before I make my first one. I like the idea of making epoxy boards because the materials are so much less toxic than PU boards and laminating resin. I know that smell is relative, but how strong is the epoxy resin odor in comparison to PU resin? I like the fact you used a disk sander to make your rail bands showing there are multiple ways to accomplish the same thing. Most shapers I see use a sure form or power planer to do em. What is the rational for using the disk sander if you don't mind me asking? I skipped around the video and I didn't see you use a power planer at all, but rather a sure form. What was the rationale for that? I really appreciate your videos, keep em coming! ; )
The odor is almost non existent, but you still need a mask. The disk sander is just to save time.. i like it because the disk is flat and it is good for the first panels. i am not using power planer, sure foam is my go to tool most of the times. I also use cnc machine sometimes (local surf store with my design using shape3d)
@17:52 Toda raba for ASMR :) This sound of shaping a surf board reminds me my 20's
You are welcome 🙏🏽🤙🏼
Nice looking board, I’m definitely going to try out that bottom panel technique. Keep the videos coming 🤙
It works great in small medium condition- i love it 🤙🏼
Nice work!!! I don’t know how you do it without the stereo blasting but very nice
I do LOL but the shaping sounds in time-lapse are not nice so i add a sound to the video, will be done soon 🙏🏽

Yes 100%
Not planer ? Good job
No power tools- 100% hand shaped
You say at the end of the vid, “I’m going to seal the board”. What do you used to seal it? And why do you seal it before glassing?

Cool vid mate, the tape on the wall? Does it come in handy or do you not need it any more due to your skill level ?
It is, if the floor is flat and you stands are level too 🤙🏼

Welcome back. What stringer material do you use?
