A great video! You didn't try to be cute on camera. You didn't add nauseating music or hard-to-read captions. You just let us share your train ride. Thank you so much. Looks like a great experience and worth the price, even in the wind and fog.
Wow! When I was five years old, in 1941, my parents took my brothers and me on a trip through northern New England, and one of the most memorable things was the ride up this cog railway. It was a clearer day, and I don’t remember all the smoke, but this is a wonderful ride. Memory railway!
Excellent video. Been up there a few times. Tuckerman Ravine Trail, Crawford Path, Auto Road in a 1964 Chevy II, twice pushed by steam, once by diesel. All were truly memorable except for the diesel train ride.
Bit of advice, it's an adventure or an ordeal. That you paid a lot of money for. Like 10 minutes into it and all you see is cloud until you get back to your car. Or stuck on the siding for an hour, and you need to pee, and the coal smoke fumes are filling car and the little kid starts to throw up. Good times.....Do NOT book far in advance because you don't know what the weather will be. ANd you only get a few minutes at the top, which you will spend half waiting in line to pee. Drive up or take the van.

is there a specific side of the train you recommend for views?
Facing the mountain, the left side has slightly better views. Mostly near the top. Good luck. Let us know if you take the trip!
Hi there. Can i ask how much is the ticket?
Sure! It's around $79 a person depending on the time of year and how far it goes up.
