I’ve been dealing with my girl insecurities for ten years now we have two children together but I’m now at a point where I have to let go even if it means I have to lose my family. I’ve realized it is not healthy for me mentally I have found myself having trouble focusing or making proper decisions for myself after all these years doing what makes her happy and putting what makes me happy on the back burner. Did you guys try reverse psychology type techniques when dealing with their insecurities? Eg. If she says something like "My butt looks fat in these jeans", instead of saying the usual "no you don't" type responses, respond with something like "I wasn't going to say anything, but when i saw you I thought I'd just discovered a new planet! I thought Serena Williams had just walked in the room" Obviously what you guys have tried hasn't worked, so you might need to think outside the box a bit. Try the opposite of what you've been trying, that hasn't worked
I was engaged to this woman. At the beginning, her wanting validation and to be with me all the time was cute. Later that morphed into accusations of actually having sex with every woman who was ever near me -- and not only arguing with me or screaming at me but wanting to actually fight the women -- huge public scenes, etc. There is no way to be with a woman like this. It doesn't get better. It only gets worse and there is nothing YOU can do to help her.

If you decided that you want to be in a relationship with this insecure woman a statement like, “You need to work on Your insecurities.” does not suggest any intention of being with that woman. If you care enough to stay with her your statement should be, “you seem to be having an insecure moment, let’s work on it.” If you don’t want to work on a relationship with her, You shouldn’t be with her.

I just lost one. Fell in love and dated a insecure, needy, jealous controlling women. She gave her all to me from the beginning and expects the same as I want to take it slow. I fell in love for her each day but I wasn't moving fast enough or meet all her needs asap. She was always critical and insecure which she always starts argument with no intent to resolve problems or compromise but just to get piss and yell at me. Her ego is so big she tried to hurt me because she felt I hurt her in the beginning but that was not the case as I wasn't too affectionate yet with her. Things ended real bad with insults etc.. Her ego and all the others stuff about her made this relationship hard. I was too nice but she wanted everything her way. I tried so hard. Now I'm so heart broken but try to realize she was too toxic for me.
Literally just went through the exact same thing with my most recent relationship. She was beautiful, christian, flirty, fun to talk to, sexual, "caring", etc... everything you think you want. Then she tells terrible lies about a friend of mine, which I forgave, then she actually physically beat me, not once but twice. And throughout it all, it turns out she started cheating at some point. I broke up with her multiple times, never realizing she started cheating sometime, and she kept coming back, saying she saw a future with me. I worked so hard to make the relationship stronger, but everyone who saw me could tell I was exhausted and unhappy. Finally, I broke away from her after a week of non-stop fighting, and when I wanted to talk about it, she just used her body to make me not want to talk. I said i wanted to talk and then broke up with her when she still didn't want to and gave what seemed like BS answers. Then she asked to just be friends with benefits. Only after I said I actually wanted time away from her to get over her did she admit to cheating throughout the relationship and sent me proof of the cheating for at least the last 2 months of the relationship. She was toxic as hell, and everyone told me, but I was blinded by actual love for her.
Literally changed my whole perspective. Every point you made she has. Spot on to the T. She asked for the space. I'll give it to her, work on me and when the time is right challenge her to be a stronger woman. Never knew it was insecurity all along. Thank you 💯

I had a relationship where the women was constantly trying to prove that I was cheating on her. I feel like she knew I wasn't but it just allows them to not have to commit. Constantly trying to "call your bluff", and practicing spontaneous, and unjustified indignation. We broke up after three months, but I would have stuck it out with her, glad things went the way they did though. Sad state of affairs dealing with someone like that. One time a random hair clip showed up in my house, I gave it back to her, and she claims "This isn't mine". Like lmfao, she was the only women in that apartment since I moved in a few month prior. It's funny, a lot of women I talk to want things both ways, They want a hard-working man who can provide them a good future, but they also want a ton of attention, affection, love, romance, security, and control. Balancing all this out is the difficult part for many relationships, insecurity comes from within yourself or a lack of trust, whether it's recent or from the past. I believe setting boundaries before those come up so that you both know where you stand on things, such as priorities mainly, because people prioritize different things in their lives.

Me and my girl friend have been going out for over a year and this is my first relationship. Ever from the start I have helped her through all of these things she has but now that I’ve helped her through all of them now she still shows signs of insecurity. I can’t even work with another somewhat attractive women with out her “joking” with me saying that I am going to cheat with her. I've looked this up recently due to recently dating this girl who has CF. It's been 2 months but there has no change to her negative outlook on herself as a person, being just a "piece of meat" and "nothing else to give". I've reassured her for these couple months and it's now to a point that where I don't compliment her one day, she called me out via text, after sulking in person, and said "aren't you suppose to be giving me compliments freely". I try to remind her all the time but it doesn't seem to do any good and I am stressing out trying to make it work...I feel like I'm being pushed away with all the "I'm sorry" paragraphs I get and I'm scared to approach her knowing she reminds me that "you can find someone better than me. They always do".

Coach, thank you for sharing these truths. I had the exact woman that you described. She fought me every weekend for 4 years for absolutely nothing. When that woman would walk by, if I happen to look up to see who it was, she would say did you get a good look? It was not only women but if I talk to a man while we were in the grocery store, she would tell me, why do you have to talk to everybody? She totally tried to control. She even told me about guys that were calling her from the past, going to have coffee with the guy when she thought we were done, even telling me that she never should have divorced her last husband. I must have very thick skin because I even encouraged her to go back to him. At that point it was just a game. It did not hurt to leave her. She even confessed that she knew she was screwed up. It did come from insecurities from her childhood. I could not help. I finally had to leave. I had proposed to this woman hoping it would change things but it only got worse. You cannot satisfy them. They are damaged goods.

I hope things are working out for you. I can only speak from personal experience, 18 years of it. It's never going to be enough for her, no matter what you say or do. no matter how often. Your love for her will eventually turn in to resentment. I believe the other commenter means well, but it's not sustainable, and again, from my experience won't help. I mean just think about it, reassuring someone every single day etc. Because you HAVE to, to keep her behavior/feelings in check(whilst being accused of things constantly). It doesn't work and it consumes you. For someone to need or expect that all the time is really unhealthy to begin with. If you can show her this video, and have an open honest discussion about it, that's a good start. I've been faithful for 18 years, you would think the security would be established at some point, it just doesn't matter. Learning to love yourself comes from within yourself, nobody else can be responsible for that. I learned the hard way, it's a hellish existence and she won't realize the hell you are in, because it's all about her.

As a person who is insecure when im not utilizing my healthy attachment style, this video seemed a bit harsh in reference to what was suggested be said to the insecure person. Yes those boundaries need to be set and the person needs to heal the insecure attachment style and habits, but it can be more loving and more of a team effort. Me and my boyfriend view the insecurities as a separate being (like an insecurity monster) that we can both tackle together in different ways because i am not my insecurities, even if i live with it sometimes. And healing while in a relationship takes work on both sides equally i will have to say! I would say i dont bash women, i respect women too much, and dont throw tantrums cause thats not my style but everything else was pretty relatable. its also not black and white but at least bringing up some of the habits and mentioning it was nice to hear.

Interesting. My ex left me cause she only saw that I did a lot for my own family (mom and siblings) and assumed I will only focus on them. But in reality, I was setting up for my fam t be independent. I took the role as man of the house at 25. I am 30 now. Not something I wanted to but but something I had to do. Not easy but I can not give up . I tried my best to show her I wanted to be with her and have our own family, but nothing. She is 24. So not sure if young age also plays a role.

I’ve been dealing with my girl insecurities for ten years now we have two children together but I’m now at a point where I have to let go even if it means I have to lose my family. I’ve realized it is not healthy for me mentally I have found myself having trouble focusing or making proper decisions for myself after all these years doing what makes her happy and putting what makes me happy on the back burner. To anyone who is going through this type of predicament do what’s best for you at whatever cost.

Eg. If she says something like "My butt looks fat in these jeans", instead of saying the usual "no you don't" type responses, respond with something like "I wasn't going to say anything, but when i saw you I thought I'd just discovered a new planet! I thought Serena Williams had just walked in the room"
Obviously what you guys have tried hasn't worked, so you might need to think outside the box a bit.

I was engaged to this woman. At the beginning, her wanting validation and to be with me all the time was cute. Later that morphed into accusations of actually having sex with every woman who was ever near me -- and not only arguing with me or screaming at me but wanting to actually fight the women -- huge public scenes, etc. There is no way to be with a woman like this. It doesn't get better. It only gets worse and there is nothing YOU can do to help her.

Sad but true.
I just lost one. Fell in love and dated a insecure, needy, jealous controlling women. She gave her all to me from the beginning and expects the same as I want to take it slow. I fell in love for her each day but I wasn't moving fast enough or meet all her needs asap. She was always critical and insecure which she always starts argument with no intent to resolve problems or compromise but just to get piss and yell at me. Her ego is so big she tried to hurt me because she felt I hurt her in the beginning but that was not the case as I wasn't too affectionate yet with her. Things ended real bad with insults etc.. Her ego and all the others stuff about her made this relationship hard. I was too nice but she wanted everything her way. I tried so hard. Now I'm so heart broken but try to realize she was too toxic for me.
Literally just went through the exact same thing with my most recent relationship.
She was beautiful, christian, flirty, fun to talk to, sexual, "caring", etc... everything you think you want. Then she tells terrible lies about a friend of mine, which I forgave, then she actually physically beat me, not once but twice. And throughout it all, it turns out she started cheating at some point. I broke up with her multiple times, never realizing she started cheating sometime, and she kept coming back, saying she saw a future with me. I worked so hard to make the relationship stronger, but everyone who saw me could tell I was exhausted and unhappy. Finally, I broke away from her after a week of non-stop fighting, and when I wanted to talk about it, she just used her body to make me not want to talk. I said i wanted to talk and then broke up with her when she still didn't want to and gave what seemed like BS answers. Then she asked to just be friends with benefits. Only after I said I actually wanted time away from her to get over her did she admit to cheating throughout the relationship and sent me proof of the cheating for at least the last 2 months of the relationship.
She was toxic as hell, and everyone told me, but I was blinded by actual love for her.

I had a relationship where the women was constantly trying to prove that I was cheating on her. I feel like she knew I wasn't but it just allows them to not have to commit. Constantly trying to "call your bluff", and practicing spontaneous, and unjustified indignation. We broke up after three months, but I would have stuck it out with her, glad things went the way they did though. Sad state of affairs dealing with someone like that.
One time a random hair clip showed up in my house, I gave it back to her, and she claims "This isn't mine". Like lmfao, she was the only women in that apartment since I moved in a few month prior. I still wonder if she planted that or someone threw it through an open window (sarcasm)... sigh...

It's funny, a lot of women I talk to want things both ways, They want a hard-working man who can provide them a good future, but they also want a ton of attention, affection, love, romance, security, and control. Balancing all this out is the difficult part for many relationships, insecurity comes from within yourself or a lack of trust, whether it's recent or from the past. I believe setting boundaries before those come up so that you both know where you stand on things, such as priorities mainly, because people prioritize different things in their lives.
My ex GF is jealous, needy, defensive & throws tantrums YET broke up with me because she Lost attraction. I should have left her with this laundry list.

Me and my girl friend have been going out for over a year and this is my first relationship. Ever from the start I have helped her through all of these things she has but now that I’ve helped her through all of them now she still shows signs of insecurity. I've looked this up recently due to recently dating this girl who has CF. It's been 2 months but there has no change to her negative outlook on herself as a person, being just a "piece of meat" and "nothing else to give". I've reassured her for these couple months and it's now to a point that where I don't compliment her one day, she called me out via text, after sulking in person, and said "aren't you suppose to be giving me compliments freely". I try to remind her all the time but it doesn't seem to do any good and I am stressing out trying to make it work...I feel like I'm being pushed away with all the "I'm sorry" paragraphs I get and I'm scared to approach her knowing she reminds me that "you can find someone better than me. Coach, thank you for sharing these truths. I had the exact woman that you described. She fought me every weekend for 4 years for absolutely nothing. When that woman would walk by, if I happen to look up to see who it was, she would say did you get a good look? It was not only women but if I talk to a man while we were in the grocery store, she would tell me, why do you have to talk to everybody? She totally tried to control. She even told me about guys that were calling her from the past, going to have coffee with the guy when she thought we were done, even telling me that she never should have divorced her last husband. I must have very thick skin because I even encouraged her to go back to him. At that point it was just a game. It did not hurt to leave her. She even confessed that she knew she was screwed up. It did come from insecurities from her childhood. I could not help. I finally had to leave. I had proposed to this woman hoping it would change things but it only got worse. You cannot satisfy them. They are damaged goods.

I hope things are working out for you. I can only speak from personal experience, 18 years of it. It's never going to be enough for her, no matter what you say or do. no matter how often. Your love for her will eventually turn in to resentment. I believe the other commenter means well, but it's not sustainable, and again, from my experience won't help. I mean just think about it, reassuring someone every single day etc. Because you HAVE to, to keep her behavior/feelings in check(whilst being accused of things constantly). It doesn't work and it consumes you. For someone to need or expect that all the time is really unhealthy to begin with. If you can show her this video, and have an open honest discussion about it, that's a good start. I've been faithful for 18 years, you would think the security would be established at some point, it just doesn't matter. Learning to love yourself comes from within yourself, nobody else can be responsible for that. As a person who is insecure when im not utilizing my healthy attachment style, this video seemed a bit harsh in reference to what was suggested be said to the insecure person. Yes those boundaries need to be set and the person needs to heal the insecure attachment style and habits, but it can be more loving and more of a team effort. Me and my boyfriend view the insecurities as a separate being (like an insecurity monster) that we can both tackle together in different ways because i am not my insecurities, even if i live with it sometimes. And healing while in a relationship takes work on both sides equally i will have to say! I would say i dont bash women, i respect women too much, and dont throw tantrums cause thats not my style but everything else was pretty relatable. its also not black and white but at least bringing up some of the habits and mentioning it was nice to hear.

Interesting. My ex left me cause she only saw that I did a lot for my own family (mom and siblings) and assumed I will only focus on them. But in reality, I was setting up for my fam t be independent. I took the role as man of the house at 25. I am 30 now. Not something I wanted to but but something I had to do. Not easy but I can not give up . I tried my best to show her I wanted to be with her and have our own family, but nothing. She is 24. So not sure if young age also plays a role.

I wish my fiance would work on her jealousy and insecurities because it is draining and I’ve thought about ending things often. It comes in waves because she knows I’m ready to leave every time we fight over it but I stay on edge about it because I know it’s promised to come up eventually and it does. I feel like she will never change and she would be totally fine ending things rather than changing that. I feel like that is something that can never be changed in a woman, she will just find a simp who will put up with it.
My Girlfriend has OCD and it takes over her better feelings and decision making. She has trouble breaking bad habits while she honestly admits to the bad habits. Her OC anxiety holds her back ☹️☹️☹️
Maybe you should learn more about human psychology... Understanding the causes of certain behaviors is much more helpful for solving them ... The way you portait insecure women seems like they are just spoiled children... Which in mostly cases could not be further from the truth!

Ms AP, OMG, I am in this type of relationship. Unbelievable as it may seem, my gf is in her 50s and is overreactive sometimes irate. She is a wonderful person at her core, yet her insecurity, inferiority, and inadequacy demons raise up when she is challenged. I should have moved and will if what you just shared does not provoke effective change. I have a little fault in the matter, I forgot to remove my cape at the first sign. My girl tells me everything and doesn't hide things. She told me the other day a customer asked for her number. She turned him down and said she has someone. He then proceeded to say I'll just write my number on the receipt. Supposedly threw it out. So what does it mean when she tells me everything
