Ty Stewart, the WSOP Senior Vice President & Executive Director, expressed excitement about the new venue, stating that the Commerce Casino has long been a poker hub in Los Angeles and a top-tier card room globally. The organizers aim to kick off their new strategic relationship by hosting the WSOP Circuit finale and the Tournament of Champions bracelet event. Additionally, they hope to qualify more players from Los Angeles for the WSOP Main Event than ever before.
The podcast also discusses the Tournament of Champions' unique format, where only champions from the ongoing WSOP Circuit season are invited. Qualifying contenders include winners of gold rings from live or online circuit events, as well as online or live bracelet winners, including those from the WSOP Europe.
Despite its $1 million freeroll nature, the Tournament of Champions is an exclusive invitation-only event, offering not only a significant cash prize but also the coveted gold bracelet to the champion. This year, over 600 players have qualified for the event, competing for the impressive prize pool.
