Californian here looking to possibly relocate (within a few years) for retirement, but interested in the coast. Any realty connections there? Coastal home prices definitely creep up, but as you said you get so much more for your money. But being in coastal areas, have to worry about flooding from hurricanes. Live on the coast here and dont have to deal with that (occasional 100 mph winds but no flood risk because of the hills surrounding the ocean). Appreciated your comments on politics. That was helpful and a concern. I hope to make my first trip of many this summer and hang out near Topsail island, Hampstead, Holly ridge and see what's happening!

We have a place in Topsail and I work on the island as well. I have connections here too if need be. The benefit to this area is hurricanes are rare to hit. They hit more in Wilmington and south of here which is nice for us. I'd be happy to help though!

No bugs or humidity in So.CA. That's the only advantage I see. Lived here for 68 years. Only stay here for family. Everything else mentioned in the video is true. Wildfires, homeless, and drug addicts are bad. I don't see how anyone can afford to buy a house here anymore either.

It is truly sad, California is a beautiful state. I can understand staying for family though. Whenever you are ready to escape ... let me know and I'd be happy to help!

If I were very rich, I'd much rather live in LA. However, when you consider what $700k buys in Charlotte vs. LA, I'd opt for Charlotte.

haha Charlotte is much cleaner and WAYYYY less traffic and no Smog either so that also helps lol

@@livingincharlottenorthcarolina I've spent a lot of time in LA for work. If I had $25m, I'd love to live there (or in Manhattan or Miami). But if I only had $700k, for example, I'd take Charlotte.
