Nice one Jim! At some point can you address laundry and personal hygiene on these treks? Can't imagine what it's like in that tent with two hairy assed men LOL.
Jim, you sliding by and almost kissing that big boulder at 44:37 freaked me out. Your experience reading rapids on the fly, and adjusting your track, was fantastic to watch! Momma Mia!
Thanks, ya they can like not so big from upriver when they’re actually big like that one and looking back up from down trivet you realize you really dodged a bullet. Thanks a lot for watching!
As I've been glued to this adventure, I have come to the conclusion that the only thing better would be to get to see it on the big screen in a theatre. That would be epic!
There are adventure tours through various guiding services that can take you to areas you will feel you are the only people on the planet. The costs start at no more than a week in an all inclusive resort in the south. Some groups are set up for only ladies.
Been going to Northern Ontario for about 28 years. That's pretty much the norm when you are on land. In the evening and at night it can make you wonder why you torture yourself BUT you can't wait to go again!! There was one year it was like portaging through one of the off Off bug spray commercials. It was horrific even in the boat. Last year though we got payback and there were zero bugs when we went 🙂
Like Hap Wilson and Paul Kirtley before you, I have to sincerly thank you, the Baird brothers for sharing with the world your amazing trip here in my province of Manitoba. This is a faboulous documentary that shows the real Manitoba for what it is...unpopulated, wild, rugged, untamed, and certainly unpredictable. For many of us here in the province dream of the day we might put the logistics together to showcase our own province, it's just not in the cards as this type of endeavour is a HUGE undertaking. Much love for showing the true emotions of such undertaking, beautiful camera work, and for Living Your Dash! - Davey.
When I first started watching this series of videos I looked at how long they were and thought no way I am going to spend the time. Welp, here I am all caught up and anxiously waiting for the next video. What a journey so far! Anyone else swat at flies when you watch?
Guys, todays video was everything an outdoors person could ever ask for! Epic rapids, t storms, bugs, fish, bear and seals! For sure on the edge of my seat! TY!
That was a great video! Thank you. The eagle nest with the baby an the seal! Beautiful! A bear an a fire somewhere. I was out on a lake(Perrault lake hour or so south of Red lake) in 91 with my Grandma and I smelled smoke but didn't see it then holy shit it was there. I panicked! I didn't know how I was going to see to get back. I told my grandma real in! I took off an forgot to pull up the trolling motor. Opps. I found my way back to camp thank goodness! Not bad for 2 women. I don't know where the fire was. Just happy it wasn't our cabin. The indigenous people had a ceremony at the FREEDOM convoy and eagles flew over. Then when there was a fase off with the police line some guy started playing a pretty painted Indian drum and walked through the peaceful crowd and went to the front an played in front of the police. It was beautiful! It got quiet an it actually looked like it calmed down the police and the protesters. Wonder what he was playing. I saw something similar in the Australia protest. A leader of maybe Mohawk nation got stomped on by a horse. Its terrible when you watch these good people for 3 week an they get hurt right in front of your eyes. I'm sad an drunk! Why didn't you use the cool old fire pitt at the end? Blueberries growing around it? O yeah I borrowed your yeah. FREEDOM YEAHHHH
Pausing around 10:30 minutes to say, you guys are hardcore awesome. You must be worth your weight in gold leading or working on other expeditions. I mean you guys really have your stuff together. Thanks for the adventure.
This series is helping me get through this looong winter! Keep up the great work...looking forward to ice out so I can try out my new Nova Craft prospector 16!
Wow !!! Those rapids and lightning storm was crazy!!! You guys got off the water just in time. You guys are awesome!! Thanks for sharing your adventure.😁
It's amazing the shots you can get alone in a canoe with some rapids , a go pro , a mount and a little sun on a dark day after some rain . Great cinematography for both of yas !
Excellent rapid running. Crazy thunderstorm with lightening. I cringed when I saw Ted getting snacks and noticed his helmet mounted camera at 37:00min. Time to get down and not be the tallest structure with a lightening rod. Great adventure, thanks for sharing.
I am recovering from Cervical Spine Surgery right now and wearing a neck brace. Thank God I have you guys to watch being I can't get into the outdoors myself right now. Thank you for the Epic content Guys. Stay safe out there. ~Kevin
You know what impresses me about this series , how well you two are getting along ! Love it ! I had my troubles and good times with my brother . Hes dead now and I miss him . Stay close boyz
Well there’s more of the trip to come lol. Sorry about your brother snd thanks a lot for sharing that re. the importance of time with your brother while both still here.
Hey Jim and Ted love to watch y’all master the rapids and catch the fish. Happy Birthday to your father, God bless him. Thanks again for your awesome videos! 🥳✅✅✅👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
Terrific series! Been watching from E.1, eagerly anticipating every new episode. Sick slow-mo footage of you guys shooting those class 2 "rrrapides" 🌊🛶under that ominous sky right before the T-storm ⛈and of the zoomed-in, cool wildlife as well. 🦅Thanks for all the hard work you both have put in to film and edit this truly awesome northern wilderness adventure. Nicely done!
These videos are fantastic, a part of Canada I'm only going to see thru the lens of what you guys are filming. Can't stop enjoying during this winter.keep up the excellent work.
A very proud looking Eaglet peeking out from the nest. I Loved seeing the Eagles. A proud noble bird. The Seal peeking out at you & Ted was so cute. In a area not normally use to having Seals, I understand now why you would want to report it. The Black Bear standing on its hind legs use to the peace & quiet, probably was looking to see what all the commotion was coming down river. Beautiful. I could feel Ted's excitement seeing that bear. I was the same way. You both gave new meaning to waiting out storm safely got to shore to put your rain gear on, & literally just sat down on those rocks. Bravery! How many snacks do you think Ted could pack into his pouch. The rapids started out exciting then got a little scary to m..
Fantastic!!! Great videos and editing. We have been captivated and anxious for next, next, next - super spellbound . You have become part of our Sunday evening tradition: Baird Bros and Oak Island.
Another great episode. I'm glad for Ted being able to make up for the container gaff by catching the fish. Good thing that happened late in the trip. Looking forward to more!
That was really good seeing the wildlife. The Bear seemed not to concern you were there just out looking scouting his domain. The seal was like a pet puppy interested in play time. My favorite is always the Bald Eagles' cool stuff. Stay safe thank you for sharing
Nature always offers us those reminders of our relative insignificance - a deep wave, a powerful storm - wherein her vastness and power and beauty overwhelm us. Wonder tinged with fear, perhaps, what the Romantic poets like Wordsworth might term the sublime. It looks as those the mighty Seal is offering you two a fair share of such intensely lived experiences. Excellent editing, btw, to evoke such things even more!
Smashing episode. Those rapids were really cool and it produced some fantastic footage. It is indeed a beautiful area but those mosquitos are totally nuts. Big respect for you guys!
That was some crazy water, you guys have got some real skills to be able to negotiate that immense river, very exciting stuff, great viewing and great camera work, its Monday new zealand time and it's my favorite day because it's upload day, yeehaaa, thanks for another memorable episode
