That deep dive into the history of the black community in Portland was really good. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable on a lot of it, but I didn't know much about the music history. I moved away 5 years ago to St Louis, and over the last few years my views and perspective about Portland has changed a bit, and I've learned more about Portland, while learning about St Louis.

Right on @pixelsoul! We actually moved up to the Pacific Northwest from the St Louis area where we were born and raised. So we know what you mean by learning more about Portland living in St. Louis. We have loved learning about a lot of the history not only in Portland but the Pacific Northwest in general. History that prior to moving here we never knew anything about. But even more we love sharing them. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for visiting my home town. Nice picture of, Norman.
I have not been back to, Portland since before the burnout. I miss it how it was. Have'nt seen it how it is. I lived the first 6 decades of my life there. It was amazing.

As a lifelong Portlander who has witnessed this gentrification first hand, I want to thank you for this excellent piece. I’m excited to go on the Albina walking tour.

Honestly the service you’re providing for the pnw, specifically sharing the history and current culture that isn’t often shown - shoot Oregon and Washington tourism should be paying you directly!! 😂 excellent work. Like I said I’m way over here in Harlem nyc but you have me dreaming about visiting Oregon and Washington again and again!

I was wrong in my last comment. I lived on the NE side, specifically, N Albina Ave across from the community college. Such mixed feelings watching this. Your channel is a really good resource, thanks.

What the hell? Yes, what do you mean, ridiculous? This video is concise, informative, and touches on Portland’s unfortunate history of gentrification, which a lot of Portlanders would rather not speak of. This was an excellent video!

@@leesureleetrippin7079 well, I kinda don’t want to have a million idiots calling me a racist.
Same way people cry racism when we point out there is no
      White Entertainment Television (BET)
      United Caucasian college fund (UNCF)
National Association of the advancement of white people. (NAACP)
      No IVORY magazine (ebony)
No affirmative action placing underachieving whites ahead of black folk who earned their place.
      Nope
White people get a society that hates them for loving their country and standing up to the government.
See when the ELITES figured out that the only threat to their power was hillbillies that loved guns and freedom, they started to demonize white people and rewrite our history.
White guilt, white supremacy, white nationalism
All these terms exploded when the MSM started using them at the same time in 2014
It’s all a distraction to keep us divided
Soon they will focus on blacks being the enemy again.
Only difference is us white boys ain’t gonna let it stand.
Because whether you like it or not
      ITS US AGAINST THEM
