      My ancestral families faced it (almost every family related to me) because of the West Punjab issue, us, Punjabi's had to leave our Punjab which is today's modern day Pakistan Punjab and came to Bharat and we saved ourselves our lives somehow and even lost our people's lives
      Also, the people who were once rich whose all generations have been in that Punjab have lost it + were on road from being rich.
      Majority of punjabi's felt the same problem (specially Hindu sikhs) .

    I don't know you man, but I can't thank you enough for this video. It means the world to me.. being able to see his ancestral house in Pakistan.. I am a young Indian Punjabi, who was born in India, but I lived most of my life abroad as I emigrated from Punjab India with my parents when I was about 4 years old in 2001. I currently live in Englang UK. I am a very big fan of Bhagat Singh and I really admire him as a human at a very close level, if not equal, to God.. I have visited his other ancestral house in Khatkar Kalan, Banga, Punjab, India, recently but I can't literally wait to visit this one too.. Even though I feel I haven't been lucky enough to live in Punjab a little longer and there are still many things that I still don't know about my own motherland, I really wish that we people of the Indian Punjab and the Pakistani Punjab could once again get the freedom to meet freely with each other as family relatives and neighbours once again, as we probably used to before the partition in 1947 took place.. My heart cries not being able to easily access to Pakistan's Punjab and their residents due to mainly the past long political reasons and tensions.. 😥 A big thank you to @KarlRock and a big hand wave to my Pakistani brothers and sisters.. I am Sikh, but Inshallah we will meet sometime in the near future.. lots of ❤ to everyone who spent the time to read this message.

    Very good that Bhagat Singh is honored. But when a similar hero was there in Tamil Nadu doing the exact thing no one talks about him. Vanchinathan in 1911 shot a British Collector in 1911. This was much earlier than when Bhagath Singh did the same. But somehow the heroism of people from South do not get celebrated or honored.

    • @SBALAK9753
      @SBALAK9753 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Junaiiid_Ahmed Your comment is a testament and is a real exposure of the educational system in the North. Rabindra Nath Tagore is not from the South but from the East from Bengal. He wrote his works in Bengali which is not a south Indian language. Our national anthem is by Tagore and it is in Bengali and while mentioning various states only mentions the South as Dravid. "Punjaba sindhu gujaratha maratha dravida utkala banga". In the South we learn about all Indian heroes and not limited to those in the South. But the great educators in the North do not seem to think that the South contributed any thing and are beasts speaking primitive languages and should be taught the great language of Hindi with about 100 year history, replicating Urdu but writing in Nagari script and borrowing words from Sanskrit which they themselves seldom understand. The South Indian languages are over 2000 years old and have extensive literature. But those that say Tagore is from the South will not know any of these since their culture and education is only that deep. We have our education system but we do not have our own country and we are proud that we are part of Bharath. But we feel let down by the politicians, educators, and even by people like you who do not care to know anything about the South and advice us to have our own education system as if we are totally different nation. South Indian history is part and forms a great part of Indian history with several kings, poets, writers, temples, literature who ruled a highly civilized nation and spread Hinduism to Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and even to China. So stop advising us and start learning Indian history in full and not restrict yourself to those in the North and that too half baked since Tagore is not from the South. To teach you further the South has many languages but the important of them are Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil spoken in different states and each with its own history that is intertwined and at the same time distinct.

      However just wanted to add one thing regard Bhagat Singh, He is celebrated so dearly not only because he shot someone. In fact in the end, even he rejected the idea of violence. He is celebrated mainly because of his ideas, thoughts, bravery. He showed real bravery not by shooting, because that is an act of few seconds only, but he showed bravery by Standing firm against colonizers, not asking any apology.

      Great and celebrate also the life of Vanchinathan much earlier did the same thing for the same reason. India had many heroes but only those of the North india is honored but the one hailing from the south are totally ignored as irrelevant. Both South and North for liberation of India in its entirity but when one acknowledges only those from the North with no mention of any from the South it gives a feeling that the South fought for its own independence and not for freeing India. Vanchinathan, V O Chidambaram, Subramanya Siva, Bharathi, VVS Iyer, Satya Murthy and others are conveniently forgotten by the North. Have more goosebumps by reading about the lives of these people and others from the South and see the harm done to the unity of India by selectively honoring freedom fighters from one region. I listed TN leaders since I am only familiar about them having been born under the British rule and not being taught about any freedom fighters. My father also went to prison for India's freedom but he was a minor figure and not a leader like those I mentioned above who sacrificed everything they had for the nation. The Congress and Nehru/Gandhi family has limited the knowledge of freedom fighters only to themselves. The North continues to praise their heroes and no one talks about the sacrificies of people across the entire nation especially from the South. Andhrapradesh, Karnataka also had its freedom fighters which people from these regions should mention and honor since I can only cite a few from Andhra Pradesh like Prakasam Garudu, Sanjeeva Reddy but there were dozens more leaders from there whose name I am not familiar. All freedom fighters are our heroes and should be taught in our schools.

    It is so sad that these countries, children of the same ancestors, in some cases even speaking the same language, are not together. In my visits to both countries I found good, hospitable people. One of my colleagues in the office I used to work in is a Sikh born in India but an Australian citizen. With his parents he visited Lahore to see their old home and their special places. They were struck by the kindness and hospitality of their fellow Punjabis in Lahore. I hope the politicians will learn that bringing people together is better than dividing them.

      @nothing nothing I don't mean they should become one country. I mean they need to be good neighbours like other normal countries that have been enemies in the past: Ireland and Britain, the US and Mexico, Indonesia and Malaysia, even the now very friendly relationship between Indonesia and its former province Timor-Leste. Good neighbourly relations between India and Pakistan would free them both to stop wasting billions of rupees pointing weapons at each other and get on with normal trade. How much would India and Pakistan both benefit from a natural gas pipeline from Central Asia? It could be a joint Indian-Pakistani project.

    • @rais1953
      @rais1953 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @nothing nothing I defer to your greater knowledge. Perhaps you can advise which of the countries I named are pointing weapons at each other, refusing to trade with each other and refusing visitor visas to each other's citizens. Or perhaps you could take my point that having civil relations between two states does not imply, or require, a bosom friendship. It just requires both sides recognising that mutual hostility is an expensive waste of precious resources for both sides.

    • @rais1953
      @rais1953 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @nothing nothing Yes both sides say similar things. I know, because some of them have told me, that the few Indians who visit Pakistan mainly to visit their special cultural and historical places get a warm welcome. Trade and other relationships could be promoted and the very act of doing that would alleviate hatred and hostility *on both sides.* Here in Australia Indians and Pakistanis often count each other among their friends because of their similar cultural and language background.
