My wife said to tell you, she likes your intro music. I like your tying demos. Especially when you break your thread.

Legitimate either way. The fly's speak for themselves. With Winter coming in Scotland starting to look out the lures and to tie new ones. Many thanks for posting.

Just ordered the stonfo brush and some other things from flyfishfood.com When you put as much effort into your SBS's as you do; I hope people support your business. I am an ardent supporter. Very informative and it helps you sell so many of the products you use. Saving up for the Griffin Mongoose!

cool revision. I wish I could come up with ideas just like that. I do free tie some patterns but there is nothing new, it's always a variation of something. Thanks for sharing. All the best to you. Sean

BTW, for anyone who's interested, I fished a similar pattern to this that I came up with myself, and did really well on Palisades Reservoir here in Idaho from the bank. The bank where I was standing was very deep. When in the boat we troll that section about 6 feet from the bank and it's often 20-30 feet of water.
I would roll cast out about 20 feet or so and wait until it hit the bottom. Then I'd jig up to a roll cast position and let it sink again. From there, I'd perform the forward cast of a roll cast but due to the bugger being on the bottom, it turned into a mend. As I repeated this I found that I could jig the bugger high enough to the surface that I could see it. The first jig to roll cast position would jump it up to the surface towards me. The next jig from the mend would then shoot the bugger up to the surface AWAY from me.
The rainbows and hybrids were about 18" and it was still cold enough that they spent all their energy on the strike, which implies that the presentation was driving them crazy enough to strike even though they were still lethargic. Every strike happened while the bugger was dropping from the surface and with some experimentation I found that I couldn't get a strike using the traditional stripping/jigging methods. I had to get the bugger near the surface then let it drop to get strikes.
The challenge was actually setting the hook. When I'd mend it added a LOT of slack and when I jigged to roll cast position my fly rod was already up in the air. However, regardless of how much slack or rod position I found that a strip set worked every time. I was amazed that fish were still on when I finally got all the slack stripped in. I'm not sure how well I would have done with barbless hooks. The water was clear and it was easy to see when a strike happened because I'd see the flash of the fish and my floating line would jump 6 to 12 inches. There was always too much slack to feel it though. I had never seen anything like that and the added challenge of the strip set was very satisfying.
If someone finds success with this method please let me know. :-)

I use the Complex twister bugger as a rag worm pattern for seatrout here in Denmark. It is an excellent pattern that can take the heavy abuse from seatrout teeth😊

Absolutely beautiful. I think I'll try it out on Henry's Lake this weekend, opening weekend. I think I'll try this with a renegade dropper and see if I can't jig this CTB while keeping the renegade 12-18" off the ground trailing behind. I Just about stopped the video when I saw you stacking dubbing, dubbing loops scare me for some reason, but after seeing the method of adding it with that loose loop around the conehead made me feel like a little boy on Christmas morning. :-) I'll let you know how it does this weekend. Hopefully I'll beat my 7 pounder opening weekend record with it!

Found this on you website. Note - name on site is "complex twist bugger" making yout youtube title hard to find... I wanted to know what the all done weight of the fly is. The site only has size 2 and no specs.

Carl Anglin that’s the beauty of tying flies. You can experiment for your self and figure it out. All I know is that the fish eat it. I stopped researching it right about then.
