I think antique shops can be interesting to hunt in because a lot of times they overprice first issues, but sometimes let random back issue keys sell for cheap, because they dont know what they have
I’ve had some good luck in the York / Ogunquit / Arundel area antique malls for finding comics. I love the Ogunquit area for vacationing also. Really nice inns.
They were nice. A Boston business has bought a bunch of the bigger properties in the last year or so and prices have gone up and service has gone down. Not nearly the same as a family owned business.
Those crappy 90s comics you came across at the 3:30 mark? THAT'S the kinda stuff I come across all the time at flea markets in Chgo. I hardly ever luck across anything worthwhile. I would have bought those creepy dolls though, just to have them sitting around to creep people out. LOL! Looks like you ended up finding some decent stuff after all.
That 1st MOKF was a find!!

That special edition was a tremendous find!
Very entertaining video Jim -- it's always interesting hearing the extensive info and history you tell.

Jim, nice grabs!! Impressed with the 4 color PAN PAN...!! No Low # UNCLE SCROOGE...?
My sister lives up the road from there. I've literally walked to that antique mall.
RE: MGM properties... Amazed with the popularity of Archie that Andy Hardy never got a book...!!

We can't find "worthwhile" comics because super-collectors like Jim have vacuumed all of them up...!
@@A100-ND - LOLOL! Yeah, SOMEbody's snagging 'em!
I would have probably flipped those comics right side up when flipping through them, but that's just me, haha
Only one hand. Using the phone to record with the other.
Jim...better be careful, your wife is going to have to do a CBA (Comic Books Anomynous ) intervention on you...buying comics everywhere you go!
One day the Adam Hughes Justice League run books will be sought after like Dave Stevens art
You're doing whatnot tonight?
@@DavidClark-vu3dw yep
Radar from MASH had a copy of Captain Savage.
Another example of MASH not adhering to props from the 1950s, like when barcodes were visible on Hershey bars.
Not interested in other types of collectibles, not surprising -- unless you plan on renting out a 2nd storage locker...!
On your May 1946 quest, are you seeking out the cover date or what was actually released in May?
Cover date.
