A few vendors I do work for cleaning and pressing their books for have had this issue as well with the host of the shows turning comic-cons into pop-culture. Which when this happens they stop signing up going as the people there aren’t looking to buy comics, but cards and just random stuff. But thankfully these same comic vendors have started getting together and starting their own true comic-cons with 90% comics and 10% random stuff. They have found that being comic people it’s easier for them to promote and set it up as a group that for 1 guy who is all only interested in making money to set it up and screw them out of making money.

The Action Comics issue starring Superman and Big Barda, in which a producer wants them to star in an adult film, is played strictly for laughs by Byrne and is as much a satire on the adult film industry as it is a superhero comic. It's only controversial for teenage boys who don't understand how irony works.. The Chris Claremont/John Bolton backup stories in Classic X-Men are excellent and it's worth getting the issues just for those, even if you already have the original Uncanny X-Men issues. Alternatively, the backups have been collected in a trade but it doesn't come up often on Ebay.

The problem is that there are very few fans of comic books left anymore. Western comics basically destroyed their audience.

I think Giant-Size X-Men #1 is missing because the seller traded it for those Marvel Tarzan issues, knowing how much you love that apeman series...!

The line at my first SDCC in 2012 the line was at least that long if not longer and they were still that long 2018, 2019, and 2022 and you can't even buy the tickets the day of the show.

God, I hate it when people say "low print run." What do you consider low print? No one even KNOWS what the print run was! Punisher 100 had orders of over 41k! How is that low print???

This does show that admissions/registration crew is REALLY IMPORTANT for any event. You have a responsibility to get people inside, in a timely manner.

I guess people were really hungry to go to a con, and I'm sad that it didn't have good dealers and activities for them.

It was the Comic Code Authoritie that ruined the Joker as well as other violent villains. Criminals had to be more goofy otherwise writers and artists could lose their jobs! Thankfully both Marvel and DC in the early 70s were able to break the restrictions imposed on them and villains became more lethal. Awesome book btw and Irv Novak did a great job!

This IS a very sweet comic. I am one of those who has never gotten his hands on a copy, so it was nice to see the interior story. As always, Neal Adams delivers with the art.

I just purchased the Batman 251 a few weeks ago from Ebay, loved the cover, paid $ 240 for it, cover looked really good, except for a pretty hefty spine roll, but it still presents great.
