Really enjoyed the views, angles, shots, your commentary, and the video all together Dan! A ton of work not only to portage, but setting up camera angles and then extra walking and lifting! Great footage indeed. Fun to watch Lexi! Be safe..🏕️
Thanks Doug, really appreciate it. Yes it is a lot of work but something I really enjoy and get a lot of satisfaction from as I sure you do as well. I hope your enjoying life and getting out to fish in your kayak often. 👍
I agree, I use Darn Tough socks too and shoes that drain. I did exactly the same as you with the neoprene socks. They didn't work very well, and then I stepped on a nail that went into my foot on my last canoe trip, so now they're garbage. I didn't like them very much anyways. Great video and adventure!
Thanks for watching Dave. Man, stepping on a nail sounds awful! Hope it wasn't too bad. I've stepped on few on my day and always had to get a tetanus shot.
Fantastic video, really smooth editing with well-planned shots. I appreciate your work very much, I'm a long time BWCA visitor out of Sawbill. Too bad you didn't catch anything on that deep runner!
Thank you much! I'm glad you enjoyed. I love the Sawbill entry as well. So many route possibilities. My daughter and I went to Little Sag and the lady chain out of there last fall. TBH I really wasn't fishing that hard. I don't fish too much anymore, I just enjoy being out there.
Excellent video. I love seeing Lexi's antics! I like to follow your route on Google maps as I watch your journey. It's neat to see islands and other features on the maps and then view the same things in your video.
Thanks brother. Yeah Lexi is awesome to camp with. Probably the best dog I've had. It was a great route and one I plan on doing again in the future and extending to another river system.
Bro, from one creator to another, you did an amazing job on this video. Your dog is such a joy when she wants to play. I'm heading up to the BWCA next year for my first time. I'm planning a 10-14 day trip, 7-10 miles a day. Totaling around 100 miles. I'm super excited. Thank you for sharing your trip with us. This was so helpful! Any suggestions?
@longwildernesswalks Thank you. This was one of my favorite trips. Have fun on your trip. Once you go, your hooked. Just be prepared to make changes on the fly and don't rush things. 7-10 miles a day is a good distance for that. What time of year and what EP are you heading in?
What a fantastic adventure. Would love to get Otis on the water, but he will have nothing to do with it. Walking along it is fine, but even crossing a bridge over it can be difficult at times. Guess we'll stick with the drive in camping experiences. Great stuff and wonderful share! Bruce and Otis
Thank you. It's a lot harder to have a good canoe dog than one would think. Lexi is my 4th lab, but the 1st that I have felt comfortable bringing on trips. In the end all that really matters is just spending time outdoors with them. Cheers!
i really enjoyed going on this adventure with you and Lexi!! I turned the lights and i felt like i was there too. what a trip! youve got a new follower.

Check out the LLC, Basswood, Knife Lake, Saganaga areas some time the entire Canadian border is amazing. Been to this area twice it's meh IMHO.
Yes, that whole area looks amazing. I'm actually tentatively planning a route along the border next fall entering at LIS north.
@@schultzoutdoors8799 you won't be disappointed with that entry point. It's my favorite I go there twice a year.
