5 Day Solo Canoe Trip With My Dog - Bull Moose and Into Boulder Lake
Lexi and I go on a 5 day solo canoe trip in the BWCA. We see a couple of bull moose, one which walks right through my camp (sorry, no video, only audio). We also head into Boulder and Adams lake which is an area I have wanted to get to for years. Weather was phenomenal and a great time was had!

Why does nobody mention the extra fuel hose? On my original 562 air filter housing assembly there is a breather port and hose that connects on the right side that's venting back into the housing itself. With the upgrade air filter mount there is no port. What am I supposed to do with the other fuel line that now has nowhere to connect to? I'm sure it's not an actual fuel line but it's the same size as the other 2. I'm not even sure where and what it's venting from?

FYI, when you build a fire in a wood stove, get your tender and wood in and put your fire starter at the front of the stove between the tender and the air inlet. Not on top. The starter lights, the tender light and then the wood. Light the starter and open you inlet air and your stovepipe damper. Once the wood starts burning set the air flow so the wood is burning for heat and not a roaring fire. Play with it. Wood in the back, fire in the front.

That’s one thing I could never understand all that work for one night. I love hot tenting but for no less than 5 days. The great thing about winter camping is it’s not real crowded and if there are other campers you know they are just as crazy as. One suggestion look at one of those induction fans I think that’s what they are called the small one will move some air. They set on top of the stove. I have a snowtrekker too and boy can it be a pain to setup. I’m thinking about making two nylon straps one to go between the front poles and the other for the back poles to keep them from spreading out when you put the tent over them. Oh well can’t wait for snow this year. Thanks for taking us with you.

Thank you. I really enjoyed the whole hot tenting experience. It's too bad we had such an unseasonably warm winter here in Michigan. I was only able to get out the one time. Look for more hot tent videos next winter. Now it's canoe trip season👍

Really enjoyed the views, angles, shots, your commentary, and the video all together Dan! A ton of work not only to portage, but setting up camera angles and then extra walking and lifting! Great footage indeed. Fun to watch Lexi! Be safe..🏕️

Thanks Doug, really appreciate it. Yes it is a lot of work but something I really enjoy and get a lot of satisfaction from as I sure you do as well. I hope your enjoying life and getting out to fish in your kayak often. 👍

I was there in the 90's and camped on Bulldog and Margaret. In close proximity to the dam along the Yellowdog we came across the largest White pines I had ever seen. They were larger than the Monarch Pine in Hartwick Pines

It's a beautiful area isn't it. Margaret is a lake I've been wanting to camp at. I will have to check those pines out for sure👍

@@schultzoutdoors8799 you are lucky. I love dogs but they don’t fit into my life, plus I developed an allergy, and it’s particularly bad with large breeds like Labradors. Paddle on!

Thats a really good idea, using the short blocks to keep the upper cross bar down away from where the saw bar will be. Thanks for posting. Thumbs up.

Thank you. Yeah, the blocks seemed like the better way to go for sure and they work great.

Thank you. I'm assuming your referring to hammock camping. It's always something I wanted to try but don't because of Lexi. I don't want to leave her out on her own and not be able to get to her quick if I need to.

That wilderness area is by far the most hard-core in the UP. Always fun to see Lexi living her best life! Smart to take advantage of this winter weather. Looks like you are all prepared for a big trip this year. Enjoy, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for watching Greg. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Not quite what I wanted out of the trip but a good time nonetheless .
