I guess giving out coal to all the Nazis would've been too much of a pain and a bad idea, considering the Nazis used tonnes of the stuff. Santa did the only other thing he could do to those on his naughty list.

That Christmas Land game with the anime girl looks and feels very AI generated, similar to how Vinny is AI generated
Vinny being all "This video's gonna get claimed over a heavily edited remix of Frank Sinatra singing public domain song Jingle Bells and a minor-key orchestral instrumental rendition of public domain song Silent Night, I just know it" is simultaneously the funniest and saddest thing, saddest because DMCA abuse has driven streamers to constantly worry about what will or won't get their videos demonetized, muted or outright deleted.
That american christmas game feels 100% like it was made by a talented high schooler with some good ideas and not a lot of experience or income lol.

Wow, even for broken garbage, Christmas Land breaks barriers. It really sets a new low-water mark for miserable, dismal apathy and failure. It fails at everything it possibly can with utterly ruthless efficiency.
Genuinely can't tell if it was made by someone who didn't give a single shit or if it was made out of spite. Maybe a bit of both.
American Christmas is by far the best thing in this collection, I'd actually watch Vinny play it in full.
It gives me 90's PC platformer vibes and bevis. Also, I can't help but see angry eyebrows on the characters straight out of an American Kirby box art. Maybe that's why it's called American Christmas.
It was humble but at least not a shameless disgusting asset flip or straight up stolen game. Gotta give it props for being a game someone actually made with intent to create.

You should make your next game a spiritual successor to Croc 2: Legend of the Gobbos
My favorite part of that first game is how there's no polish or attention to detail to literally anything at all yet they go out of their way to have that super detailed and smooth Sniper Elite bullet kill shot camera lmao.

American Christmas looks like it was made by somebody who wants to make a great game but their writing and design skills just aren't there yet. I applaud the effort and I hope they learn (or have learned) how to make something better.
Maybe it’s just cuz it was played right after the godforsaken Christmas Land “game”, but I was actually pretty impressed with American Christmas! Looked like a fun little game with some genuine heart and effort put in, unlike all the other shit seen before it

@@JacobKinsleycould also be an adult who just lacks experience with certain areas of solo development. People underestimate the amount of expertise you need to make something entirely by yourself. Seems like everything here was made by a single person, including the music, art, UI, level design, and story. There is a pretty impressive level of polish with certain areas of the game too, like the title cards at the start of levels, the way beds turn invisible when you crawl under them, etc. Clearly the game took a lot of work from a passionate person even if the result comes off as amateurish.

legend of santa actually looks pretty good. it’s so hard to find proper mario clones that aren’t just shitty mobile games, this one actually looks kinda cool.

What's impressive from that Steam bundle guy is that every single game looked entirely different. The man experimented with a style and then tried the exact opposite for the next one, etc.

There's countless bundles like that from different people. They figure having a super expensive bundle of worthless crap on sale for a lot will entice people to buy it. Apparently it works.

I think that's the paradox -- games which incidentally feature Christmas-ish levels are often better than full games which are explicitly themed around Christmas
Think of like Freezeezy Peak from Banjo Kazooie, compared to the Elf licensed videogame.
I remember a mega drive game by the name of Daze before Christmas which I played a rom of when I was younger being pretty decent.
Does Oogie’s Revenge count? It’s a sequel to a movie with “Christmas” in the name.
Also Filthy Finale is one of the best final boss themes to ever grace a disc.

You want a terrible Christmas game that's also based on a movie? No, I am not talking about the Home Alone games. I'm talking about Toys for the Sega Genesis and SNES. That game is based on the weird 1992 film with Robin Williams, where he played the son of a toy maker who had to save the Zevo toy factory from this guy who called himself "The General" who wanted to rule the world by disguising weapons as toys. The game is just awful. None of the toy projectiles work very well, except for a "Peanut Gun." It also had these first-person sections where the player had to use a water gun to disable the security cameras, but the aiming had to be precise and fast. Reacting too slowly would result in getting zapped by the cameras' lasers.

What always blows my mind is how Nintendo thrived on quality games from and feard the game crash and when I bought a switch after last system being an N64 the stores offerings are just as bad as steam with garbageware. And cheap cash grabs with trashware.
That first game "Kill the Santa" is basically the Texas University sniper shooting but in the North Pole, with a shotgun, and with all the victims being Santa Claus.
That game Christmas Land is basically Croc 2: Legend of the Gobbos but in a Christmas area, you play as a lady with a gun and it's an indie game made in unity

I'm willing to bet the dev of The Legend of Santa used to make Super Mario World romhacks, because this game looks way too much like a hack for it not to be a coincidence. The stolen SMW assets seem a lot less malicious to me because of that.
I've never done a romhack 😀, but I've been programming for 15 years, and retro games are my specialty
