- I'm making a Lethal Company emotes mod with my friends! With fully hand animated custom emotes and eventually the ability to import your own. This Lethal Company mod is going to be awesome! I’ve never played Lethal Company but I can imagine people playing with this mod, seeing a dog, using the shush emote to quiet down their friend, and then that friend proceeding to do the loudest yippeee known to mankind.
Although probably impossible, a peace sign emote with your character fading away would be awesome 😂

Up Next: We NEED to find a way to get a good speech-to-text thing going, so that you can trigger certain emotes. Like screaming will do the panic one, yippie will yippie, etc.

there's mods that do this for other things, so it's probably possible to implement it here
I thinly they should add a no sound option to some of them, bc the sounds ARE funny but the comedy of silently break dancing in some lethal company situations also sounds HILARIOUS
Little heads up Ross, most emote mods have this weird glitch that prevents the game from loading new moons past the second day, so it might be a good idea to double check before releasing it. Good luck!!
I feel like what Lethal Company really needs is a traditional Cossack Hopak dance (the crouched down, arms crossed, kicking out in front of you typed one)
Whenever this gets uploaded, can you add an option to disable sounds from the emotes? I really don't want a full lobby of people spamming these and not being able to hear anybody talking, but I love the animations.

I think it'd be awesome if you could add a variant to the 'flipping the bird' animation where the off hand is cranking while the bird finger is slowly being raised like a flag pole. Then time it so it matches the Jester's song duration. Id love to slowly flip that bastard off in his own language, Ive died too many times to him.
thatd be hard cause iirc jester has a random song duration of 30 to 45 seconds or something like that. Maybe the emote could grab the jesters crank and mimic it?

I absolutely love how Ross and his friends have that real 'I have an idea, lots just do it' kind of energy. It always seems to be how the best ideas are thought of...and arguably the worst. This is definitely one of the good ones though 😆
That's a very good point, and why you should always mention the idea to someone before going ahead with it. That way, if that person realises its a bad idea, they can frantically run after you screaming 'what, no,no,no,no, don't do that!'@legiondemon3034

It would be really cool if you could link emotes to different hotkeys, so you dont have to open a menu every time you use one.
He mentions an emote wheel at the end of the video, that would probably make it less messy to use. Hotkeys would be super convenient though.
But there would be like 20 hotkeys + the original ones. It would get hard to remember.
@@l_Tea yeah, my thoughts were along the lines of having a fee hot keys that can have emotes switched out from a menu, so you can just link your favourites while still having access to all emotes from a separate menu.
Maybe a TF2 Conga line Animation could be fun when you want to party a little before you get to the ruins.

It would be really cool to see a backflip or a cartwheel emote, though it may seem very tedious or difficult
wouldnt be at all, he has a control rig so animating it is no issue as long as he can get the motions down which i expect he would

There's already another emote pack mod that has cartwheels and backflips. In fact the whole pack is chock full of existing dance moves XD
Watching Ross flip the bird reminded me of when my daughter was 3-4, one of the shows she liked to watch sometimes was the Wiggles. They had a version of the finger family where each finger was represented one at a time. By the time it came to 'brother finger' the wiggles were just straight flipping the bird, and I had to stifle a laugh so my daughter didn't catch on.
Ross won't calm down until he adds Four Big Guys into every game.
I feel like the "The Thinker" pose would be a funny addition to this catalog of emotes.
I think I'd prefer these without sound tbh. Being able to silently do emotes is SO funny in base lethal company, and it also means that you can dance to boombox music. The emotes having sound is gonna mess with the immaculate vibes of base lethal company tbh
I definitely think the “useful” emotes (shh, panic, etc.) should be kept in a separate pack from the dances. Honestly the main game would benefit from having them. But maaaaan those dances are funny.

Definitely this. The sounds don't really fit the style of sound design or music that the game has; they more clash with it than compliment it.
Said earlier we're planning a toggle. Sound stuff is mostly for content reasons.
Wait you even got Zeekerss' blessing? That's awesome! I already found Lethal Company hilarious and impressive before but I just recently found out that they're also the one that made It Steals, another incredibly impressive game to watch, they seem like they're doing quite well at what they do!

Are the emotes going to be affected by sound modifiers like the drowning modifier or Inhalant? I understand if that would be difficult but I love the idea of hearing a muffled California Girls coming from someone with a crawler on their head. Also, absolutely love the fusion dance.
The yippee seems to get distorted when they move, so maybe they do. It would be hilarious lmao
Depending on the sound source location, it should automatically via Unity's sound engine. as long as the sound source is tied to the player model, it probably will work
Awesome that the creator gave those assets to you for this, genuinely hyped to see what comes out of this given how cool the current modding scene already is

Besides that though massive respect to all your hard work! This looks amazing and will make the game even more fun than it already is!
it could be cool if you could set up a check like "check if crouching" for a whole new set of keybind potential
for example, when standing, 2 could be point, meanwhile when crouched down, it could be the family guy death pose
these checks could also apply to checking for running, walking, holding items
glad to see craftyboss participate in this, such a good modder
The biggest issue with these animations (aside from the big run taunt) is that there are no outro keyframes, or atleast a way for the taunts to revert to the idle pose without just snapping back to the default values when its done playing, which looks incredibly odd for taunts that aren't meant to loop, like the arms crossed one.
Im not too sure about the coding logic behind these animations ingame, but there should atleast be a more natural reset for when the taunt is actually over without moving
Emotes for the three wise monkeys "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" As covering your eyes and ears would make sense in a horror setting, and the third is similar to your "Shh" emote so that a user could Shh someone, and they respond by covering their mouth.
Dillongoo showing up with several absolutely _golden_ emotes is so good.
Also, a facepalm emote would be great.

Hope you’re feeling better from your flu dude! This is absolutely hysterical, and the amount of work you and your friends put in trying to bring animations from Blendr into Unity is NUTS. So much effort for something so silly, I absolutely approve!
Two emotes that would be incredibly helpful: a smoke break and peeing emote, to let people know where you're at when you're afk at the ship.
Having this with my friends would set the grounds for evil since we have the Hoarder Yippee mod. The trolling would not end.

I don't know why, after I saw the size change, my immediate thought went over to a slender emote. You know, just extending your limbs to like twice the size. Feel like that should be easy enough to make and would look pretty goofy (or potentially terrifying based on your surroundings 😅)

I would love to see if it's possible to have someone run like Ed from Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, where their entire top half of the body just sways in the wind.
At 43 seconds in, you can see this man’s cat return from the abyss.
Some ones some of my friends I play this with would love if they're possible and were included: Headpat emote, arms crossed, a pouting sit where arms are crossed and legs are out in front of them like a toddler. There's also a dance based on part of a ffxiv moogle dance where the arms are in front of them going up and down, idk what you'd call it but we call it vibing. Kinda like Jonny Bravo's monky dance but without the legs. Either straight arms or having the elbows bend a little when they come up. My friends are already excited about the griddy and the shy fingies ones. Thank you for all the work you're putting into this. ❤

Hey Ross, as a 3D character artist, I was wondering why you couldn't use corrective shape keys with custom bone rotation or location triggers to correct the horrific body deformations in the animations? Does baking corrective shape keys into animations not work for game animation?
The last thing I want to have is the models I spend months to perfect become this level of distorted in animation. X'D
As complicated as it may be, I would *love* to see some sort of Sailor Moon style transformation spin. Or perhaps just blowing a kiss if that would be less complex

Yipee definitely needs some kind of confetti! if you can't add actual confetti somehow you might be able to get away by modding in an extra "bee" enemy that lacks the AI to attack that only spawns on people who use the emote and despawn when it ends? the bees move around pretty erratically normally so all you'd need to do is recolor/retexture them to be "confetti" :0

A karate punch that makes no noise or a flexing strongman pose would be great imo.
A FNaF Jumpscare emote would easily mess with other players. Alternatively having emotes that in the dark make other players animate very closely to some of the more humanoid enemies. Like a coilhead freeze animation. Using the noises of some enemies would also be very fun (and evil), like the use of the Jester's wind up in an emote would horrify players.
Ross why do you save each animation in a different file? you can store animations in one file in the action editor
He is a 2D animator, he doesn't know everything in Blender. I'm sure it works fine for him to have separate files. Also when handing blend files to everyone else in the team, they need to know what animation it is from the outside
So about that.. I'm a 2D animator. I quite literally am just applying what I know about 2D animation to 3D. The more technical side of things currently isn't my strong point since I'm new to it. But I'll ask about it!

A quick play emote wheel would be great and another idea could be that when you emote you go into 3rd person for the duration of the emote
