I believe a cover for your 6 ton bench and maybe matching curtains. Great work. A lot of brainstorming and a lot of sweat but looks great. Nice pick on the fabric
Built on rocket mass heater 8 yrs ago on back deck - added greenhouse onto deck and keep temp at 70 degrees all winter and open slider and heat my house as well. Clay came from own yard. Best thing ever 🎯
I am guessing Jess is going to make bench cushions with that gorgeous fabric you bought which I am sure will look fantastic, love to you both and credit for all your hard work John xx
The fabric is beautiful and contrasts with the desert colors. It will make a great cushion for the cob/ rocket stove bench. That's my guess. I loved Jessica's smile when she show cased the fabric
ALOHA to both of you Green Dream Desert Homestead Project...yay, getting a lot of progress done, hooray also with the kids - Crew and Lluvia they are such good pets taking care of the 3 of you with Peter, Jess's brother and Jim, such hard caring loving workers on that rocket mass heater. Bravo, Jessica chose a awesome color-schemed pattern of material as a cover for the cob bench in the dome. Enjoy seeing wonderful natural cushions loads of toil and soil going into your home warmth and tenderness...keep on ''truckin you all ..'' ciao
It’s a pleasure to watch your family videos about Lluvia, with the occasional work on the dome interior…! Hehehe, I know how much work Jim and Jess are sporting there!
I just want to thank you guys so much! I paid off my land last year and have been camping on the land and making decisions and have started the build process and you guys have been an amazing resource. Thank you so much for sharing all your learning!
2:50 It is quite obvious that Lluvia is content. Good job, guys, adopting her, otherwise her future may have turned out poorly. The perk is that only a fool would mess with you all with the two dogs! 💯
There 2 people, ONLY, that need to like what you've done. You 2. If I didn't want to watch I wouldn't. My son and I are going off grid onto 20 acres. I have a 2,650 gal water bladder coming, a 4,000wt solar, all in 1, solar generator, plus 12 or 16, 3.2vt, 280ah lipo4 batteries, corrugated roofing, looking at rock wool and more. I cannot wait. We're in NW Arizona. Keep it up. Jonesy
Crow had a big ol' gopher snake like that cornered near our back steps once. It was reassuring that mayyyybe he will just keep his distance from a rattler and bark if it gets in the yard. Bench is looking awesome! It's interesting how people in comments seem to just type opinions about your work without actually watching the video. People are odd.
Awesome video you guys are really doing such a wonderful job take care God bless you always I am not feeling well enough to watch anyone's videos because I am still going thru the pain and suffering from my last big surgery it's number 3 I don't want anyone to go thru this pain I really hope you all understand love you guys always Rosa
Been watching you guys work your butt off. You Guys are so amazing. I keep all you guys in my prayers. Love your videos stay strong you guys will get though all your building plans.
Love to hear how the earth bags hold the temps steady!!! So exciting and wonderful! How is your permit process going? Were you given extra time and/or extensions? God Bless guys you look great!!
cob expands or shrinks after packing it in?..... i guess you can place wedges after it hardens... I could also putting some posts up along the bags to the joists. I think some blocks/bricks with paired wedges on top of the bags would be the way to go. You can then backfill with cob.
I was thinking of a rest run before it's beautified.. then if some cob needs to be removed, it won't break hearts because I'm sure it's going to look great. I'm thinking cushions?
That is going to be such an incredible feature for your home and so very necessary with that type of construction. I can see your entire family cozied up on it this Fall and winter! You'll have to start off by claiming it for just you folks or I guarantee you, the doggies will be spread out on it leaving you no room at all. Lol...we all know how long those boundaries work with " fur babies" ;)
Such a lovely couple! I love coming to see you both! You are both so genuine! So graceful! Remind me of Western Buddhists and Native Americans! Very Special, ☺️ “Down to Earth”!
Lol. Can't wait to see yall polish up that "snickers". Thanks for the video, I'm guessing Jess will use the fabric for cushioning for the bench? Love that line from Jim "Go home Lluvia, you're drunk". That made my day. Take care as always 🏡
Thanks for putting up Lluvia name up because I could never remember how to spell her name, She chases the birds like my dog, be thankful she does not bark at them my dog does, sometimes I have to call her. The rocket mass heater is looking great cant wait to see what Jessica does to the finished project. I thought the fabric would be for curtains although that would be too simple an idea for Jessica. Thanks for the video.
It looks more like a mr.big long and lumpy, and I think she’s making a cushion for the rocket mass heater and little one one to ,you should make it reversible if you get tired of that colour you just flip them instead of making new one
Today while Pete was playing with the dog I seen that metal dime frame again did you ever thing about making an outdoor shelter for the dogs . Something cool to absorb the heat and keep out the rain and wind .Just a thought
You two crack me up!! Its a almond joy poo patty. Made with” blood sweat and nuts…….. jess makes the most incredible artistic projects. Cant wait to see that fabric as cushions and pillows. Just dont stuff them with cob ok.
You have lots of cheerleaders here so I will be the one to crack the whip. Its time to get the roof finished. No more meals until the roof is done. Put the pretty lady on the roof and take the ladder until its finished. Once finished giver her a extra 15 min break. Getter done
You guys are moving right along For sure! Please forgive me for asking, but what happened to crew? Is he still around? I don’t know if I missed a video or two or what ??
I'm concerned about so much weight being added on top of thin sheet metal ductwork. Do the products of combustion escape as gases through the ductwork in addition to the heat? When you push on this ductwork, the slight pressure of your hand deforms it. If the weight of your couch bends the sheet metal and you aren't aware that the seams or joints have separated, you could end up with carbon monoxide seeping through the couch into the air you are breathing in your house. As you know, CO is a poisonous gas that is odorless, so there might be a possibility you'll be laying on your nice warm couch sometime, take a nice nap, and that will be the last nap you ever take. I think it would be advisable to install at least two CO detectors in the house and keep in mind that they are not always reliable. I hope you will reconsider this part of your project, because I suspect the possible risks outweigh the potential benefits. If you want to make certain you do not inadvertently turn your house into a fatal gas chamber by using experimental technology, you might want to invest in proven technology such as a wood burning stove. In case you run short of wood, you could have a backup system using a propane tank just outside the house with a properly vented emergency heater inside the house.
Home inspectors, HVAC repairmen, and gas company inspectors check for CO leaks using a hand-held CO detector. Buying one might be a good investment to avoid a fatal incident. You could check your entire system for leaks, but probably only the exposed areas. I'm not sure a handheld CO detector would be able to sniff out any CO that was being defused through the materials of your couch.
It'all going to be sooo gorgeous.I can already see you guys lounging in your beautiful home (& going on to other structures). Just saying. If it were me I would overkill by putting a 6x6 or 8x8 frame underneath in the basement towards (at)the inside edge of the bench
What plans do you think Jess has for the fabric?
Thanks for watching!
I reckon cover for the Snickers couch 👍👍👍
I believe a cover for your 6 ton bench and maybe matching curtains.
Great work. A lot of brainstorming and a lot of sweat but looks great. Nice pick on the fabric
cushions for the heater bench
My guess is for cushions on the bench.
Cushions for the rocket mass bench
I once had a medium-sized dog whose favorite toy was a plastic jug. As long as it doesn't hurt them. It's fun to watch their joy as they play.
you sir can work very well with your hands. much love and respect from france!
Built on rocket mass heater 8 yrs ago on back deck - added greenhouse onto deck and keep temp at 70 degrees all winter and open slider and heat my house as well. Clay came from own yard. Best thing ever 🎯
The closer you guys get to finishing is the happier, and happier Jess gets. I think she might do a backflip when this thing is all finished.
Toss water on it turn it into a sauna jknr
I am guessing Jess is going to make bench cushions with that gorgeous fabric you bought which I am sure will look fantastic, love to you both and credit for all your hard work John xx
Jim ur such a hoot! So enjoy watching ur progress. U and Jess r rocking it!

Seems like you all are catching a second wind! Great job!😊

So nice to see you moving along together! Wish Dog Daddy or Cesar Milan could help you guys with the dogs. Be made Blissful everyone!
You should fire it up. Helps to dry it out and it would weigh less when dried.
Love to hear how the earth bags hold the temps steady!!! So exciting and wonderful! How is your permit process going? Were you given extra time and/or extensions? God Bless guys you look great!!
Love watching all you're doing. Cool project.
You two are awesome and down to earth tell it like it happens..I wish you two prosperity and good health may yall reach your goals!..

When are you going to finish the inside of the house 🧱 walls?
I can't wait to see what Jess does with that pretty SWestern fabric. I bet it's going to be beautiful. ❤

Great as usual Jim, keep it up, my captain.
Such a lovely couple! I love coming to see you both! You are both so genuine! So graceful! Remind me of Western Buddhists and Native Americans! Very Special, ☺️ “Down to Earth”!
Love it keep it up as always 💘
Hey good afternoon you guys hope you guys are doing a great job keep up the good work🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
She's a beautiful dog.
Looking good.
(time 13:01) bro be packin' a pistol. smart man, out in the boonies, you are the law.
Perfect coloring, great idea Jess, I think it will be excellent for cushions or a long daybed type thingy
Really great work!!
Great progress!!!😊❤
Fabric is for cushions and curtains for the dome. I would have used some large stones to displace the extra mass of cob needed in the underground.
Great idea for the stones too bad he is done. Maybe that will come up again on another project he does!
Layers and layers up and up makes mass. Y'all are getting it done.
Flat stones and lime cement keep it warm in the winter and looks awesome.but yall are doing a great job on everything so far💯
Love the fabric colors by the way
Any plans to heat shield (cobbor other) between the rocket barrel stove area and the exposed bags?
Good job so proud for you ! It’s really coming together!!😘
Lol. Can't wait to see yall polish up that "snickers". Thanks for the video, I'm guessing Jess will use the fabric for cushioning for the bench? Love that line from Jim "Go home Lluvia, you're drunk". That made my day. Take care as always 🏡
great job Jim on your big cob turd god bless
ThT is the 1st time Jen kissed you on camera. Are you out of the dog house, from 2 yrs now, good for you!!!!

Love watching your videos
Explain to your husband what kind of nuts are in Almond Joy 😂. Also I think the fabric is for cushions for the 6 ton mounds bar
Busy as bees Watching your progress motivates the rest of us to get on our own projects. I wonder if Jim is muttering “ Cobb” in his sleep...
My Little Homestead did several of these. Get stuck? Ask them.
Thanks for sharing 👍😀
Today while Pete was playing with the dog I seen that metal dime frame again did you ever thing about making an outdoor shelter for the dogs . Something cool to absorb the heat and keep out the rain and wind .Just a thought

Aye! Thicker than a snicker! It’s officially going to be one of my new sayings! Much love from Wash. DC!
I would have definately put it on the bottom floor, heat rises. Hope its not cold down there this winter. Guess you could always sleep upstairs.
Beautiful hard work there.
I just LOVE the window! Great video ❤❤
Wow you friends have come long way❤
Amazing!

Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, chocolate pie ha ha funny 😂 lol.
Very exciting
That is cool my friends I love it.
Good job. I knew you would get it done. Latee
Maybe you should put some cross blocks in between the joists to give some cross member support
make cushions for the bench?
Can't wait to see the draw on that stove. They can be complicated to tune. Good luck guys!
😊TY FOR THE VIDEO ☺️
It's good to see her able to run around loose.
JIM, START IT UP AND DRY OUT THE COB
No idea what Jess is going to do with the fabric BUY knowing Jess it WELL BE AMAZING.. don't keep us in sub Spence to long 😂😂😂
That's awesome..I might try something like that for outside to stay warm while watching the views

Have you considered the issue of creosote buildup and how to clean out that horizontal pipe?
Wish I could go out n apprentice for you, that’s the best way to learn, and ask a million trillion questions
