I own both the regular Defender Pro and the Defender Pro XT cases. The XT feels less bulky than the Pro and was easier to install that the XT version that I tried when I owned my 12 Pro Max. I ordered the XT so that I could use my ESR Cryo Cool Halolock 2-in-1 Magsafe charging stand because the Pro model wouldn't attach to the charging ring. For a screen protector, I used the Zagg XTR3 tempered glass screen protector. A little pricey but you get what you pay for when you are protecting an expensive glass slab. No issues with either case and suoer-easy to install.
If you’re gonna get an XT just get the OG defender. The oyster clip just sits in the silicone on the XT, it doesn’t click onto anything & you can feel it moving around especially as the case ages. That leaves room for abrasions & doesn’t inspire confidence in the case. This is barring the issues with screen protectors. The Defender Pro is consistently the best protection you could get & it’s priced perfectly. If lack of Mag Safe doesn’t really other you, this is the go to, either way you can buy & do mag safe conversions on your own that can improve magnet strength through the defender pro case that work like normal. I personally have been using OtterBox defender cases for iPhones since the iPhone 6s+ and I would never compromise on protection especially now that iPhones cost well over $1000+. Do yourself a favor & go pro.
i have both in the green color for my 15 pro, i like the xt over the defender pro the XT just feels better and there is no plastic around the phone to scratch the phone over time like how the defender pro is I also like the charging port flap better on the XT. imo the XT has more protection since it has thicker rubber around the phone
I’ve always loved my defender pro cases. I don’t use MagSafe at all so that doesn’t bother me too much but as a mom and being clumsy I drop my phone a lot and the protection is amazing. It’s my favorite for sure!
I have both also. Prefer best protection over MagSafe functionality. I put the XT on today but Debating on switching back to the regular one. The regular one has a bigger lip around the screen and around the camera lenses and I have more peace of mind with the regular one.
I wish they had a lens protector built into the case. Otherwise im very happy w Defender Pro. It works pretty well w my Magsafe charger. But I use modified beltclips for anything that needs to clip on tight like tripod or carmount.

Simple if you care about grip the pro is the clear choice. The XT is slippery. That’s the downfall of the Otterbox line there all slippery as hell. The only one with good grip is the defender and pro defender. There’s the review simple.
I thought the same it was slippery. However after using for over a month I have gotten used to it. It’s comfortable and grippy where it needs to be. MagSafe is more the reason I like and use it a lot.

wait im confused on which screen protector you’re saying WILL fit with either case. It sounds like you’re saying the tempered glass but i thought you said those were peeling up?
The paper film screen protector will fit not the tempered glass. If you want to use the tempered glass screen protector you may be better off going with the symmetry otterbox case those include built in MagSafe as well.
@@btwicetechit’s not the cases that are the problem, it’s the screen protector. Some aren’t made with cases in mind, but unfortunately most don’t tell you which are made for cases. Otterbox also makes a tempered glass screen protector specifically made for their cases that won’t touch the edges. I have an iPhone 12 with their screen protector and the xt and you can see a very small gap between the case and the screen protector.

I have the otterbox defender pro I dropped my phone off my semi truck 7 foot drop on pavement no problem saved my phone.
I’ve done the same thing with many of my iPhones since the iPhone 3 and the defenders have saved all of them, even the ones with all glass cases.

I’m using the Spigen tempered glass. Narrow enough to fit in either XT or Pro series.
I got apple care, basically costs less or equal to two otter box defender cases a year.. dropped the phone apple gave me a new one $10 a month ago
Otterbox will give you a new case any time you break it for the cost of S&H (~$15)
Blue light screen protector all day you gotta be careful about that.
That blue color case sucks it attracts all of the stains you can imagine and impossible to clean it not fan of it at all I am very disappointed .
