      Yup, that's what I'm aiming for. Asrock's 2024 best boards were mostly top tier (in tier list videos). So I think they are on a roll right now with new Riptide, Steel legend and Pro RS.
      Planning to build an all black PC with minimal rgb on the ram with A3 wood case. Als, it's a shame Gb Elite b850m only comes in white.

    I only buy mATX these days and have for the past number of years. Since everything is pretty much on the mainboard itself now, other than the GPU. There really isnt a need for a full ATX board and I am honestly surprised they still sell them for gamers. I can see the need in the workstation market for ATX where you can still use two GPUs for rendering for some software. But there isnt a need for them in the gaming market, at least until AMD or Nvidia bring back Xfire. That said, ATX is what IMHO is dead. Long live mATX!

    • @Kruemeleistee
      @Kruemeleistee 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Absolutely! mATX maiboards also make it possible to buy smaller cases which are usually also cheaper than ATX cases without a lot of drawbacks. I don't see a reason why regular people would need ATX

    • @drewnewby
      @drewnewby 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      As a system builder, I do a lot of mATX for less expensive builds, and cheaper cases. Have to mention though, the ATX models are always better performers and more reliable in the long run. mATX boards almost always have cheaper component choices, VRM, heatsinks, etc. We need more quality mATX hardware, not cost cut variants.

    Good board, just have to keep an eye out this board has the pcie slot in 'slot 2' so depending on the case youre using you could run into some space issues if youre not using a true 2 slot graphics card. Ran into this issue with this in the Lian Li A3

    Just did a build on this board. Improves over the Tuf 650m with 5.0 PCI (not really necessary of course), extra m.2 so your really don’t need to use SATA drives, 1220 audio codec instead of 897 cheapo on the b650. Only real downside is the useless 2nd PCIe since the video card covers it. Why build an matx board starting in slot 2? Still if you don’t need the slot this board rocks. Microcenter just started stocking it.

    Love a lot about the board but have some issues. Screws for the M.2 covers are outdated at this point but that is only a minor beef. My main issue is a lot of high end cards are more than 3 slots with even more of them coming in the near future. Putting the pcie slot in the 2nd slot instead of the top limits your GPU and/or case options. A card bigger than 3 slots may make plugging in the bottom connectors difficult or impossible.

    I mean how often are normal user's messing with their m.2's for quick release to matter at all, and wifi 7 is meh. I really have been wanting to size down my build so this board is on my list of "maybe" lol.

      @@-Ryan-1776 Same here. Had a mATX build for my ancient 4790k, then went AM4 ATX, regret hit me less than 6 months after the build. 3 years in, I changed back to mATX for AM5. ATX boards and cases are so damn useless these days. Bunch of empty space with no extra features and modern mATX cases can hold high-end GPUs nowadays.

    Certainly looking at this board for one of my mATX systems (it's a lower-case M by the way :P), but the reason I wouldn't want to use it for my main gaming PC is that the main PCIe slot is one slot lower than it should be, imo, and I really hope that ASUS fixes that with future TUF models. Maybe they're doing it deliberately because it's a slightly lower-tier product? I don't know, I'm not too keen on that though, but for a system with a smaller GPU that can still work.

  • @TheRealYann

    • @AtomicOverdrive
      @AtomicOverdrive 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think they think at least that most people prefer to have access to the NVME slot, or that people rather use their NVME drive that comes with a larger heat spreader. Something that can not be done with the GPU on top of that slot.

    Can anyone tell me how the wireless and bluetooth function on this motherboard? I have several reservations about these features. (1) Asus' "pre-bundled" antenna have always been terrible, and have caused numerous issues for me in the past with bluetooth / wifi issues. Since these have the "Quick Connect" adapters, am I correct in assuming I can't just by the typical screw in antennas and "squeeze" them into the back?
    (2) I've had NUMEROUS horrible issues with Mediatek related wifi and bluetooth cards. (I had one in my Framework 16 which I immediately replaced with an intel and it was good as gold) Is there some place on the mobo that I don't know of where you can swap out the wifi chip / card? Or has anyone had any problems with the wifi / bluetooth on this mobo?
    This is basically the only board I'm really interested in at the moment for my 9800x3d PC I'm building and I don't want to take a chance.

    I don't get why people would still build ATX style computers. You don't need huge hard drives or CD Drives anymore, and components don't use the room. Especially with SLI/Crossfire being long gone, ATX is outdated, ITX and mATX are the future!
