    I bought that adapters about a year ago because I hated changing ball joints and boy are you right its a game changer. Really wish they came with a case or something.

    I got mine for $35 on Amazon, next day delivery too fortunately. I installed them crooked when doing it with the standard press fittings and it made me irritated so I caved in and got the good kit. I’d be paying a mechanic way more than $35 to put them in (not that I’d ever have that in the question anyways) so no harm no foul

    I ordered this kit and used it with great succes but I purchased dirt cheap ball joints for my 94 ZJ and now the new BJ studs don't fit right through the yoke holes smh, 30.00 for all 4, I gambled and lost, got 4 Moog BJs arriving soon but paid 133.00 for all 4..cheapo parts sometimes not worth it, lived and learned. Thanks for your channela nd videos.

      What makes these adapters special is that they have angled edges, so they fit flush against the curve of the C while remaining at a sharp 90-degree angle so you can press the joints straight. Obviously not impossible to grind the tops of generic adapters to match, but difficult to do it with the same accuracy.

    • @timb7775
      @timb7775 ปีที่แล้ว

      Who has scrap metal laying around to make these, and so they won't bend? These kits are only around $30 shipped.

  • @TwoFeatherChannel
    @TwoFeatherChannel ปีที่แล้ว

    I could see where most people would skip getting the $80 additional part, when most complete press kits are only $59
    but that's why they leave negative reviews and pictures of broken presses, because they didn't do it correctly
    work smarter, not harder and buy the correct tools for the job. you will feel better in the end

    I'm late to the show - I know. Quick question though. How are you able to fit the Ball Joint Press under the fender with socket and wrench attached let alone an impact wrench. I just had to replace ball joints on the right side of my 2011 RHD Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and ended up tapping it down with a mini sledge and a board because I just could not get the press to fit with a wrench attached. Small cover over the ball joint and angled sleeve below. Ball joint press just would not fit no matter what I tried. This is a Mail Delivery vehicle used daily which is why I resorted to the mini sledge and light taps around to get it in - I still want to do the other side but now am super hesitant. Please help! BTW - This jeep is stock height - no lift kits.

      I got a 21 piece kit of Amazon for $75 that had these pieces in it but before that I took my grinder and cut a similar notch into one of the pieces that was the correct size and it worked perfect. That's until someone stole that kit.

    • @dunebasher1971
      @dunebasher1971 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not the diameter that's the issue, it's the angle of the surface of the C. The Jeep/Dodge ball joint adapters are shaped to take account of that angle, so you don't have to screw around using shims to keep everything straight.
