it hits me some days, today i listened to charli's tribute song and it's okay to cry and it hit me just like the first time. I don't know why. I'm not even a HUGE fan of her or anything. but just knowing how free and unfraid she was, how she broke the boundaries of music and changed it forever and everything was pointing to her being a once in a lifetime star just for it to be gone so quickly.... I don't know, it makes me so terribly emotional. at least her memory and mark on music will live on.

i first heard SOPHIE's song immaterial beginning of 2022, i then found out she died, and ever since i've just been so heartbroken that she never got to experience the prestige that she deserves from her music, it's so different but beautiful, the random sounds that she harmonises with other ones, and the existential feeling from the songs (good way, like ethereal).
I was following her starting around 2014-15.... she helped transform my entire perspective on myself and my identity and the limitless self expression of PC music and especially sophie and AG really inspired me to come out... I'm almost 8 years on HRT now, and I can't help but feel like Sophie is a big part of the reason I had the courage to come out.... I don't think I'll ever really stop mourning her, her impact in my life was too huge I can't even describe. RIP Queen we still miss you 💗😢

I'm not one to worship musical artists but listening to her music literally and irreversably changed my life. She inspired me to break free of the social norms that kept me imprisoned, I came out as gay and started dating women, even came out to my homophobic mom, I started producing my own music and being creative, she empowered me to live my life for myself and no one else. RIP SOPHIE my fellow Pisces moon.

Sophie was a BRILLIANT producer working with many of the tools I prefer, and I STILL can’t figure out how she got much of the sounds she created. I think if there’s anyone I could sit at an Ableton Live session with and just watch it would be SOPHIE. Totally love her philosophical ideas as well. Such a great loss. We’ve experienced a LOT of loss of the upcoming great talent of the 2010’s…tragic, really.

Some people call me crazy for saying this - but I actually think that SOPHIE is the Kraftwerk of the 21st century. Kraftwerk is the German band that quite literally "invented" electronic pop music in the 1970s... the people back then said "THAT'S NOT MUSIC! IT'S JUST NOISE" - and the band itself always saw itself like "Musician Robots", I think SOPHIE does the same. She's revolutionising electronic pop music and people say "THAT'S NOT MUSIC! IT'S JUST NOISE!", but in a few years she'll be praised by all the people as being "sooo ahead of her time"!
I still can't accept that she's gone. I learned about her work too late and regret it every day. Sometimes, when I see Sophie's social media pages are empty, I don't understand why they are empty. I hope that someday people will learn to revive the dead. And I really hope that when that happens, Sophie will be first in line. Sophie forever.
Sadly, I wasn't aware of Sophie until I had heard about her passing. Viewing and listening to the work she has done so far, I can see that we have lost someone we truly needed in these times. OOEPUI was a life changing album for me, my first listen was I was genuinely scared at some of the ideas. Like it was too much for me, a brand new sound that was pushed to a maximum. But holy hell it has become one of my favorites of all time! And seeing her influence in so many places has really proven to me that she's a revolutionary. I can't even fathom what she could've done given more time on this planet.

I have a strong hunch that SOPHIE was being intimidated and suffered a great deal of despair! SOPHIE was a victim of transphobia among many other forms of abuse! I am willing to bet that they (among others) were being treated inhumanely by their 'inner circle'. Regardless of my suspicions, I am heart-broken by the fact that it is 2021 and a trans-woman still isn't genuinely being recognized with the same dignity as other celebrities! There is no excuse for a generation that has had access to the Internet for well over 20 years, one of the richest sources of knowledge available. Now we all have the ability to exalt a trans-woman in the same way we choose to exalt a cis-woman! Why are we still only exalting one of them? I am heart-broken to see the sadness in SOPHIE's eyes during this interview. They had really beautiful dreams of infinite color, shape and sound, the most human and universal quality that WE ALL SHARE.
Such a tragedy that she left us with such a long way to go for her with the potential she had. I'm convinced, she'll be one of the people becoming more popular after having passed away and am really excited to see what is about to happen and how she will stay alive in our all little lives.

she has freed pop music and united it with total experimental freedom and unique vision, using electronic production on a level that even people like autechre and afx became declared fans ( and in autechres case even made them do a remix for her) .. she really made edm and idm fall in love with each other and wasn´t afraid to take both to new territory.

I really like what SOPHIE said about the reception of the "It's Okay To Cry" music video. There is nothing I find more annoying than people who make it their only purpose to basically fetishize and obsess over peoples sexuality or transgenderism. It's obnoxious, and it only lives up to a stereotype that being gay or trans is a gay or trans persons only identifying quality. I support gay rights, but I don't run around 24/7 yelling "yasss bitch snatch my wig bussy" anytime I find out someone is gay. SOPHIE herself just said that she finds it disappointing. If you watched that music video and the only thing you took away from it was fangirling about her being trans (and not actually listening to the song) then you're the problem.

Sophie was a BRILLIANT producer working with many of the tools I prefer, and I STILL can’t figure out how she got much of the sounds she created. I think if there’s anyone I could sit at an Ableton Live session with and just watch it would be SOPHIE. Totally love her philosophical ideas as well. Such a great loss. We’ve experienced a LOT of loss of the upcoming great talent of the 2010’s…tragic, really.
I'm so sad. Sophie was supposed to be the one to change pop. Now that she's gone, and no longer able to produce, her legacy will not have the impact it should. We were on the verge, but now mainstream will continue unshifted like it usually does... RIP a visionary. An artist.

Some people call me crazy for saying this - but I actually think that SOPHIE is the Kraftwerk of the 21st century. Kraftwerk is the German band that quite literally "invented" electronic pop music in the 1970s... the people back then said "THAT'S NOT MUSIC! IT'S JUST NOISE" - and the band itself always saw itself like "Musician Robots", I think SOPHIE does the same. She's revolutionising electronic pop music and people say "THAT'S NOT MUSIC! IT'S JUST NOISE!", but in a few years she'll be praised by all the people as being "sooo ahead of her time"!

I still can't accept that she's gone. I learned about her work too late and regret it every day. Sometimes, when I see Sophie's social media pages are empty, I don't understand why they are empty.

OOEPUI was a life changing album for me, my first listen was I was genuinely scared at some of the ideas. Like it was too much for me, a brand new sound that was pushed to a maximum. But holy hell it has become one of my favorites of all time! And seeing her influence in so many places has really proven to me that she's a revolutionary. I can't even fathom what she could've done given more time on this planet.

sooooo happy for sophie!!!! this is alllll i wanted!!!! I LOVE SOPHIE IN THE MAINSTREAM. She deserves all of the spotlight super influential
she will never be in the mainstream. The mainstream is just about normal stuff . She is not normal.
I have a strong hunch that SOPHIE was being intimidated and suffered a great deal of despair! SOPHIE was a victim of transphobia among many other forms of abuse! I am willing to bet that they (among others) were being treated inhumanely by their 'inner circle'. Regardless of my suspicions, I am heart-broken by the fact that it is 2021 and a trans-woman still isn't genuinely being recognized with the same dignity as other celebrities! There is no excuse for a generation that has had access to the Internet for well over 20 years, one of the richest sources of knowledge available. Now we all have the ability to exalt a trans-woman in the same way we choose to exalt a cis-woman! Why are we still only exalting one of them? I am heart-broken to see the sadness in SOPHIE's eyes during this interview. They had really beautiful dreams of infinite color, shape and sound, the most human and universal quality that WE ALL SHARE.

she has freed pop music and united it with total experimental freedom and unique vision, using electronic production on a level that even people like autechre and afx became declared fans ( and in autechres case even made them do a remix for her) .. she really made edm and idm fall in love with each other and wasn´t afraid to take both to new territory.
She was really such a genius. I still can’t believe she’s gone! She’ll be remembered forever period...

I really like what SOPHIE said about the reception of the "It's Okay To Cry" music video. There is nothing I find more annoying than people who make it their only purpose to basically fetishize and obsess over peoples sexuality or transgenderism. It's obnoxious, and it only lives up to a stereotype that being gay or trans is a gay or trans persons only identifying quality. I support gay rights, but I don't run around 24/7 yelling "yasss bitch snatch my wig bussy" anytime I find out someone is gay. SOPHIE herself just said that she finds it disappointing. If you watched that music video and the only thing you took away from it was fangirling about her being trans (and not actually listening to the song) then you're the problem.
