I am a 71 year old man who came across this song after looking up some of the names mentioned in a print article about something labeled ¨hyperpop¨ by the writer. I first heard this poignant and heartfelt call from a place of great loneliness, and then read that she died just last week. I am blown away. I am also reminded again of lessons I was starting to learn when, as a high school teacher, I sponsored several clubs that no other teacher wanted to lead, such as Sci-Fi, Animé, Gay/Straight Alliance. Those lessons are that there are so many people who do not fit the few standard molds, that many people hold a world of incredible treasure and hurt just behind those cautious eyes, that most of us cannot begin to imagine the lives of the many people who do not or cannot conform to the roles or identities we assign them. I also think that these musicians are reacting very realistically to the broken world they find themselves in. I deeply regret being a part of the generation that helped bring this on.
I hope you are ok. You need to live in this world for as to live too. There is time for you still. Please do the thing that you thing is the best. There is no time limit to what you have to offer in this world, and to yourself of course. Big or small. The world needs your offering as long as you are here. And if you still breathing that means you can do big or small things. The world, this world, as it is right now needs you, and there is noone better to show the way, but you. You have to take into consideration the fact that every piece of sonic texture that makes up this song is totally original and was made by SOPHIE, to my knowledge. I’ve only been listened to Sophie Xeon for about 6 months. But in that time I purchased all her albums and listened to all her music. She was an artist who perfectly portrayed dysphoria, anxiety, angst, anger, self hatred, self love, and the array of emotions trans girls feel undergoing HRT. When I first heard she passed away when I got home from work half hour ago. I turned my phone off and dug my head into my pillow and cried. This hurts. A lot. But the music isn’t dead. So Our feelings would constantly get invalidated by my mother and father, so I would constantly repress my feelings to not cry, I even looked down of crying, I saw it as week and messy.

You have to take into consideration the fact that every piece of sonic texture that makes up this song is totally original and was made by SOPHIE, to my knowledge. I literally use samples from the SOPHIE sample pack on Splice lol absolutely fantastic, an entirely unique soundscape and vision.
I also use the Sophie Splice pack!! it has such interesting sounds and you can make really cool sound design ideas with it!

Whenever I see transphobia and/or trans erasure in the headlines, the British government, social media, while going to the doctor's, in the general public; or out of nowhere I just think, 'I'm not really non-binary, I'm just a trender/theyfab', I always automatically think of this song. It is a hug in musical form. You were truly a gift to the trans community and humanity in general, thank you SOPHIE
The damage the word theyfab has done to our community is abysmal
As a trans woman, this music hit me in my soul, and I understood the lyrics and the meaning behind this song since the first time I heard it. I’ve only been listened to Sophie Xeon for about 6 months. But in that time I purchased all her albums and listened to all her music.
She was an artist who perfectly portrayed dysphoria, anxiety, angst, anger, self hatred, self love, and the array of emotions trans girls feel undergoing HRT.
When I first heard she passed away when I got home from work half hour ago. I turned my phone off and dug my head into my pillow and cried.
This hurts. A lot. But the music isn’t dead. Sophie made her mark and helped to change the lives of and inspire countless trans women.
Rest in fuckin glory Sophie. You won’t ever be forgotten.

She made her body and her voice an instrument for her art. It honestly makes feel so alive to even hear her song which coincides with so many of my own experiences. I thank her for creating video may she live on to give strength to us who need it.
