That was a nice and useful video. As a South African, I am glad to see tourist sharing their experiance here and enjoying them selves. I guess you picked the correct time to visit. Mostly the roads have too much traffic on holidays and it is the not good time to travel due to high rate of crashes and deaths. Hopping to see you in future...thank you for the video!!!!
Do they use USD for side street vendors and tolls if car doesn’t have pass? How much in USD was it to fill gas to get there? How much was the car, did you get full insurance? Also what carrier did you use for service? I have MTN. Each carrier can change how good your coverage would be
They do NOT use USD in South Africa, I paid everything with credit card in fact I never saw there money. Gas is 21.30 rand ($1.21 USD) per liter. The car rental prices change but I spent $15 USD per day, again keep in mind they don't accept USD in SA, and I didn't get insurance for the car.
@ same. I’m in cape now for 6 weeks. Have yet to see their money. Thought other places might not have card option though since Cape is much more civilized and touristy.
Hey Phil. I think you have gone hiking a lot by yourself. Do you worry about mountain lions? Have you had an encounter before? Can you do a video to talk about them? Thanks
Thank you so much for commenting, I haven't had an encounter with any animals outside of a few snakes and a bobcat, for the most part I hike trails where mountain lions are very seldom seen if ever. A can of bear spray is a good thing to carry in case your concerned with wild animals, the one thing you NEVER want to do when wild animals are around is turn your back on them and run from them because they will outrun you and take you down from behind, think of it like a cat running after a mouse. I always use hiking poles with me, not only for hiking but as a form of defense as a last resort from a wild animail.
I started my drive about 8 in the morning, during the work week, we didn't have any traffic driving out of the city. thank you for watching and commenting.
