As a gunkan player, overlay control is a big help summoning 2-3 xyzs in a turn, it helped the deck to summon monsters such as abyss dweller, chromaly vimana on first turn.
I think overall, your tier list is pretty accurate for the most part and I’m happy you took my advice and cleaned up your tier list so it actually looks readable and easy to differentiate the different tier list levels. You essentially got rid of the extra tiers (so no more tier 4, average, below average, etc) and showed where the decks stand right now. That being said, I do think Star Seraph has potential to shoot up from High Potential to Tier One considering it can easily build a board and draw into so much backrow and handtraps. I don’t think the deck is tier zero like everyone is saying, but I would say that Star Seraph is a really strong tier one deck and I’m happy with that because Dumon is my favorite of the Barian Emperors. I’m so happy Konami didn’t botch Dumon’s release and gave him an actually playable skill considering his anime deck (Star Seraph) is garbage by today’s standards without the skill helping it. I would like to say that it makes me a bit sad you did not include Altergeist in the tier list considering that Geists have a good matchup into Star Seraph. All I have to do is tech Needle Ceiling and Star Seraph legit runs out of gas from there. Altergeist is highly adaptable to the current meta so I do think that it deserves to be there in the high end rogue tier. Shoot, in the July 2024 ranked season, I went undefeated from Legend 1 to King of Games with Altergeist, not demoting once for the whole climb, so I’m clearly doing something right on that deck. Altergeist just takes a lot of skill, and an excellent pilot, to play well (just like Shaddoll), which is probably why you don’t see it much on ladder. It’s not an easy deck to play and you need to be perfect on when you spring your backrow + Multifaker combo and I guess Duel Links players don’t like Altergeists. I love the deck though and I’m the best on it, so coming from someone who knows Geists, I will safely say Geists can destroy Star Seraph, making my Geist deck at least high-end rogue. Either way though, this tier list looks accurate on what we should expect in the current metagame going forward. There’s nothing that really looks off to me based on your tier list and I’ll be streaming a KoG run later. Best of luck on your KoG run Icy! =)
The trap seraph can go to tier 0 I think becoz only dirge and mischief can counter it even with that you need to otk it, the problem is the xyz that won't allow you to respond.
Personally not sure about sacred beasts. Ive kogged yesterday with it. Have the unchained cards and i struggled with various matchups (sacred beast otk, shark and seraph abyss dwellers). Switched to sacred beasts and a very easy run in.
now, skills gives u monster for free, what is next? at the start of the duel, u start with dh, pot of greed and heavy storm set fd, but u have to pay 10 $. konami, thx for playing skill link.
