My seed trays are like yours and it came with some thin sheets of "paper". when wet the thin paper held the seeds. I started my arugula seeds on the wet sheets yesterday.

      @2bit156 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Late reply but better than never. You can use anything you like. Cheese cloth works, kitchen towels work, and the bamboo “paper” is bamboo kitchen towel basically. Like Bounty.

    Can bell pepper seeds be sprouted in these trays to eventually be planted as bell pepper plants?

  • @winstonjacobs198
    @winstonjacobs198 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Simple and effective explanation, I follow the blood type diet 50% I am AB+, from African ancestry. Question, a lot of seeds and beans for my blood type are in the avoid list, for eg mung sunflower hemp sesame, because of the Lectins they contain, as I'm reading further, Doug Evan's the sproughtman says by sprouting you remove the harmful lectins, any thoughts on this.

    • @kellyb8237
      @kellyb8237 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the original foods have high lectin content, then definitely don't eat the sprouted version. Avoid alfafa sprouts or any grain sprouts as per Dr Gundry- lectin free diet

    Hi thanks for the video, just to clarify. Once you harvest you cannot reuse the seeds again, you need new seeds to grow new sprouts? And are you able to harvest the sprouts at a later time after the 6 days in case you dont have time to eat them?

    • @roadmap2health175
      @roadmap2health175  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you need new seeds. You can compost the old ones

    • @roadmap2health175
      @roadmap2health175  ปีที่แล้ว

      I noticed that it depends on the season. In the summer you have to eat them faster in the winter you have more time to harvest them. Are usually only cut the amount that I need and leave the rest.

    • @roadmap2health175
      @roadmap2health175  ปีที่แล้ว

      I need to cover them first 2-3 days but it depends on the moisture in the air. I noticed that depends where I do them they need different amount of water and the time for covering it. I would definitely cover it for the first 1-2 days . You can also leave a little bit gap to not totally cover. I hope that helps 🙏

    Are the bamboo sheets necessary?

    • @2bit156
      @2bit156 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No. If your seeds aren’t small enough, you can use just the tray. If they are small, like broccoli seeds, you can use cheese cloth which works really well. The bamboo towel sheets (they’re like bounty kitchen towels) would be ideal because you can throw them out and it’ll be cleaner but if you wash your cheese cloth well and keep your equipment clean, it’ll be much more cost friendly PLUS you can buy made in USA and cotton cheese cloths that are 100% better than bamboo sheets from unknown source.
      Minor detail but bamboo is invasive as well. The less we support, the better. But to each their own.
      Happy sprouting.

      Cannot be used without paper as the seeds are rather tiny and will slip through the holes. Here are other substitutes for the bamboo paper like, disposal wipes, kitchen towel, tissue paper as well as a tea cloth, and just about any other material that will allow water to pass through, and yet remain damp. Don't allow them to dry out.
