It's a great knife. I'm a Becker fan but this was one of the last ones that I bought because I didn't see the practicality in it compared to the others. All that changed once I got one. It's now my favorite knife for winter frozen stuff where you don't have to worry about breaking a thin blade that gets brittle in freezing temperature. I don't consider it a Bushcraft knife more a general utility knife for heavy duty cutting.
I bought this hated the handles and went with micarta myself it’s one of the toughest knives for the size on the market but is heavy for the length and the grind isn’t my favorite not much of a woodworker slicer or anything basically a sharpened pry bar was not impressed. I did like the sheath though and some people like knives like this just not me.

The Kbar BK2 is as good as the ESEE5 knife.. both are almost the same knife...its true and I love my BK2 and I love all my ESEES knives....

I changed the the knife edge and now it's crazy good ....try it again and I think if you changed the edge you will be happy....
